Give me all the easy lunch /dinner ideas for a 4 year old. I’m pregnant and so sick with a virus that I need EASY. I’m going to do a grocery delivery soon.
Lunchables, hot pockets, micallini meals, pizza bites and pot pies
-PB&J,
-cereal,
-90-second rice & lentil packs, maybe gravy from a packet mix
-90-second quinoa packs.
-ALDI sells little quinoa cups with mix-ins that need no refrigeration.
-Little applesauce or fruit containers.
-Cold leftover rotisserie chicken bits & dip.
-Pre-cut veggies and hummus. -Healthy frozen dinners. I like EVOL brand.
-KFC chicken pot pie has vegetables.
-My kids liked Goya (and only Goya) black bean soup over 90-second brown basmati rice. Add some grated onion & fresh or bottled lime juice if feeling better.
-Chunky soups (preferably organic without a lot of crap in it)
-Charcuterie plate with fresh & dried fruit, crackers and/or bread, olives, nuts, cheese & smoked/shelf-stable meats. Just assemble and serve. Child can take the leftovers for lunch.
-Loaded baked white or sweet potato. Broccoli or spinach works as a green vegetable on top.
-Omelet. Toss in any vegetables you have around, cheese, salsa & ham, sausage or bacon if you eat pork
-Make Bisquick waffles and toss some nuts and/or dried fruit (cut up dried apricots are my fave) & buckwheat flour in the mix. Great toasted for breakfast on the run, cold for lunch, and with chicken & syrup or gravy for dinner.
-Cold pizza for lunch , hot pizza for dinner. Frozen pizza from the grocery is way cheaper than delivery. Heat & serve.
-Tell your friends you’d appreciate kid-friendly food they prepared or ask friends and neighbors to supply lunches for a week to your child in exchange for something you do for them or pay them.
