Chicka Chica Boom Boom is just so much fun to read because it is so silly and the predictability makes it feel easy at the same time that the letters that are prominent give the child reader – or listener – a sense of accomplishment. 
We do chicka chicka boo boom, llama llama and Dr Seuss books. My child loves all kinds of books.
Anything by Maurice Sendak and Sandra Boynton. Winnie the Pooh.
