After I had surgery in 2015 my BP bottomed out.drs. and nurses couldn’t get a reading.

Happened to me while in labor. They never really gave me an answer as to why. It never happened again tho

Surprised they let you leave before figuring it out! I hope you are doing well now!

I just had the same thing happen. Dehydration due to the extreme temperatures. Even with drinking fluids. Can’t imagine it would be easier while pregnant. Check with your doctor on replacing electrolytes given you are pregnant. According to what I read water alone won’t replace as fast as needed to maintain BP. Stay healthy.

I’m not pregnant but my BP gets really low to the point where I pass out. My dr told me there’s nothing they can do about it. He also told me if you can feel it dropping then eat something salty and it will bring it back up. Mine happens for no reason also.

Had this happen the last 2 months actually. Rest don’t sit down to quick (oddly enough its usually the other way around lol) also have your iron double checked mine was just a hair low enough to throw me off. Oh and potassium levels

Dehydration? Sepsis? Could be a number of things

Happened to me once when pregnant, I passed out, after getting to the hospital turns out my BP had dropped really low, they monitored me and sent me home once I returned home i felt exhausted for a few days, never found out why

My bp is naturally on the lower side

My blood pressure bottomed out at 13 a few years ago. It had to do with my heart. I have had problems all throughout my life. I had problems when I was pregnant 43 years ago but medical has come so far since the. Ive heard that it sometimes happens in pregnancy. As long as your OB/GYN is aware, they can keep an eye on you and advise you on it.

My 19 yr old has POTS (one of several heart diagnoses) and has this happen frequently. She is always lethargic after. Huge hugs.

I have low blood pressure due to thyroid problems that was only picked up during my last pregnancy, but things like dehydration can also cause it

Since you were at the doctor when it happened I hope they checked you out and didn’t just send you home. You may want to contact them and let them know that you are feeling as you are after that happened.

Talk to Dictor, not the internet!

What does bottom out mean ?

So… You were at a doctors and when this happened you didn’t talk to them about it to see what you could do? Smh. You thought the fb doctors would figure it out for you? Smh

Hey, Ignore all the non-constructive comments. I’m no doctor (obviously), but I’m heavily pregnant and mine does it too. I went in for a routine midwife appt, all the routine checks (incl. blood pressure) were perfect. 10mins later I went really hot, nauseous and faint. She rechecked my blood pressure and it had dropped really low. Like you, they couldn’t be certain what caused it. (I had eaten, drank lots of water etc) and it still happened. I was told could be hormones, or low iron. (Mine never came back as too low), but being on iron tablets has definitely helped me. Hope you get it sorted x

Irresponsible of admin to post this. Facebook is not a place for medical advice/opinions

You should probably have the baby sooner than later. Tell your doctor something isn’t right and you feel off. They can schedule the baby date.

You need to call your OBGYN to see what your options are.

I had preclampsia while i was prego so my blood pressure was mostly high… However i would have periods of time when it would be low and i would be so exhausted… Make sure you and dr are communicating about your symptoms and rest up! Enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy as much as possible. :two_hearts::two_hearts:

Also see a regular dr or cardiologist. Mine does it often. My bp is usually low anyways but I’ve ended up in icu a few times. My bp and pulse dropped. Never had it happen during pregnancy though. Opposite actually. It jumped up and the Dr induced labor.

Could be low blood sugar. Or low iron. Make sure you are taking your vitamins, eating plenty of meat and watch out for artificial sugar or just high sugar in general, that could spike your blood sugar periodically and cause you to feel very fatigued and out of it. I already have pretty low blood pressure, it was even lower when I was pregnant.

Check a other doctor

Tip I was given for low bp was eat often and drink loads

They should have sent you to your doctor. Maybe you should go now, if you still feel poorly.

Honestly my last last pregnancy and my current one my blood pressure stays pretty low. Like it’s been down 80/50 I get light headed and dizzy. I usually have Average in lower range blood pressure but when im pregnant it gets super low. I have read ro drink caffeine, more water and eat salty foods. Sometimes it helps me sometimes I just have to lay down. Once my baby was born I was back to normal.

Mine stayed about 80/40 towards the end of my 2nd pregnancy I drank lots of Gatorade and learned to get up very slowly.

Me! They sent me to L&D for four hours of additional NST time. Everything ended up being okay. Hope all is well!

I’m not pregnant but a few weeks ago I fainted at like 3am when I got up to go to the bathroom. I fainted 2 more times and my husband called 911. When the paramedics arrived my BP was 70/40 and there was no reason. After some IV fluids I was OK. Took me several days to get back to normal

I had low blood pressure. Best thing is lots of water and walk as much as you can to get blood moving.

I was in the hospital after spinal surgery. My blood pressure had problems with being too low. Fluids always raised it.

Are you vaccinated, it’s possible that could have been the reason. It’s been connected to alot of unusual health issues.

Mine while I was delivering it got to 40/25 …I could see ppl move their mouth but their sounds sounded so far away and muffled…I honestly thought I was going to meet my maker that day…very scarey!

This happened to me in labor - the nurse had me switch to my side - often times all the pressure on arteries brings your bp down .

Could you be dehydrated? My daughter (8 at the time and turned out to have lymes disease) was in the hospital and her blood pressure kept bottoming out. They ended up giving her almost 1 1/2 bags of fluids and it finally stabilized.

This would happen to me with my twins after an hour they would get it to go down. At one of my Dr. Appointments they couldn’t get it to go down I got Pre-eclampsia and they had to do an emergency section that day. Wish you the best of luck.

Were you laying flat on your back? That can put a lot of pressure on your arteries and restrict blood flow.

I never had a problem with my blood pressure until I went to have my last child. They gave me pitocin even though my water had already broke. I’ve never been given it with any of my pregnancies and I’ve had four total. Within 2 hours of them giving me a second dose of it my blood pressure bottomed out. They had a hard time getting it back up and I was within minutes of having to have an emergency C-section. They kept putting medicine in the IV and it finally came back up but it was the scariest moment of my life.

This happened to me with my last also. I fainted 3 times because of it. I was told to take slow short walks with a partner and to drink a Gatorade or powerade for the sodium content. When my BP would drop and I would feel dizzy 2 or 3 Hershey chocolate squares helped to bring my blood sugar up as well. Hope things get better for you!

If your bp bottoms out eat something with protein and a high salt content. It will bring your bp up and help stabilize it

Lots of fluids and rest. Good luck Mama

During labor yes. But I had a really rough time during it

Dehydrated maybe. :pray::pray:

Mine never went down but it went up during labor too 200/99 it was scary I could hear everyone but my eyes weren’t seeing nobody I thought I was dying so did my grandma she yelled get them Drs in here she’s gone my mom even cried at my bedside.

This literally happened to me today at work.

During one prenatal check late in my pregnancy, my BP was 84/56. I was a lil concerned, but since I wasn’t experiencing any problems, the dr said it was normal.

Not sure if this is pertinent to your situation. When I was pregnant with my twins, during the last few months if I laid on my back, I would feel like I would pass out. Happened at the Drs office once, he told me to turn onto my Left Side . It worked !

If you were lying on your back during your NST or if you didn’t eat or drink before the NST all these can bottom out your pressure. You will feel like hell after that happens and the rest of the day will be kind of lost. Eat and drink lots, esp drinking. If baby reacted badly to the low BP it will take even longer for you to recover both of you.

Drink plenty of fluids and get some rest. Report to doc if not better very, very soon. I am sure you want a safe arrival of the little one!

myself no. however, i watched my daughter go through this. she came near fainting repeatedly and then she did a full faint in the shower one day and her daughter called me. we rushed over there and she was awake but still stunned in the bathroom and sitting on the floor. she was fine and so was the baby. she fainted again in the hospital! and they couldn’t find a reason for her blood pressure dropping so they shipped her off to a bigger/better hospital that kept her a couple days. we took care of the kids while her boyfriend went to see her and pick her up. there was never any clear reason for it, just that it was her body’s reaction to the extra blood it needed to carry. (this happened in 2 of her 3 pregnancies). she needed to be very careful about being hydrated and eating enough. she managed to go the entire 9 months. and the baby was healthy. (the fainting started around 5 or 6 months.).

Yes …my GP couldn’t even get a reading and I was in hospital for 4 days

Happens pretty regularly to me, usually mean so went to bed after eating too much sugar, (type 2 diabetic with, medicated, high blood pressure and multiple other health concerns).
I told my nurse practitioner about it at my last two visits - 4 months apart, and no answers about how to make it stop.

if you were on your back especially late in pregnancy the aorta can become compressed and drop your pressure and their. Lying on left side relievesthe pressure and optimizes blood flow. Continue check with Dr if doesn’t resve

I don’t know what they didn’t check you out and find out the problem while you were at the Drs having your blood pressure taken. Ring the maternity ward and speak to someone they will get you up there and monitor you and make sure your both well

In this heat dehydrating can be a contributing factor. You may want to check if there are cardiac disorders in your family.

Talk to your Doctor, he or she will figure it out. You can change your eating habit. Learn what is good for the baby, fish is for the brains, sauteed or steam vegetables are awesome for you and the child. I exercised the whole time even on the job . My delivery was smooth no issues. Simply talk with your Doctor, they understand many things happens within those nine months.

I have low blood pressure naturally. A change in meds caused mine to drip into the 80s!! Med discontinued.

My daughter in law had that happen while delivering my granddaughter. Was in ICU 2days before she could see her daughter. Very scary please watch yourself

Do you have some blockage in an artery or heart. Get this checked out immediately. You and your unborn child could be at risk.

Just rest a while if you can

I fainted in the waiting room of the ob office. I had hyperemesis gravidarium and was extremely dehydrated.

Over The Years I’ve Had So Many Changes With My Blood Pressure I Can t Tell Any More

They didn’t suspect Pre eclampsia

Your body is preparing itself for birth. Get plenty of rest.

Sometimes the baby can put pressure on your aorta if you lie on your back. This slows blood flow and makes you feel faint. Lying on your left side is best especially in the latter weeks of pregnancy.

My heart doctor told me when mine does this to eat a little salt.

Dehydration drink plenty of water and Gatorade

See your Dr / Hospital for advice? Has to be dangerous for you and your baby

When your BP bottoms out, it is stressful on your system. That is traumatic to your body. Take it easy. Hopefully, with lots of fluid intake and a good nights rest, you will feel better tomorrow.

Why don’t you ask your doctor and not Facebook.

Drink water lots of water

Have you had the COVID-19 Shot?

i went to my doctor seven months ago, i had been very dizzy, they took my blood pressure, i had none, standing or sitting, i saw 8 specialist, they checked my ears, my neck vessels, done a mri because i could not even walk, my heart, i had had stents put in in 2002, but no problem, i still have it, i fell twice and cops , fire dept, and emergency had to come pick me up, two months ago i got out of bed, got hold of my walker, and fell about 4 feet, , hit my head, and walker fell apart in four pieces, i am on a bracelet, and a alarm , and a lock on my door so rescue can get in, i am still dizzy, but no one knows why.so i have no idea if it will eer get better.

I experienced extreme low blood pressure because I was literally bleeding out due to an undetected internal bleed. After a week in 2 different hospitals and 20 units of blood they found a torn blood vessel and fixed it. Thus I lived to tell. You need medical follow up asap!

Drink lots of Fluid
Gateraid
And eat protein foods meat
You will very tired after bottoming out
Fluids are Really important

When I was in my last trimester I couldn’t lay flat on my back or else my blood pressure also dropped to scary levels because the baby puts preassure on a specific vein or something cutting off blood supply to your brain. At least that’s what was the cause of mine. Mention it to your doctor

Feeling better will take time, that shit sucks. When mine does that, it takes a few days for me to feel ok again.

I fainted a few times when I was pregnant w my daughter.

Happened to me while in labor, everytime I had a contraction, my BP dropped and my son stopped breathing/heart rate slowed way down. Had to have an emergency c-section. Docs think I had a reaction to the pitocine. Thought I was dying tbh. Never had it happen during the pregnancy itself. Try to add salt to some foods, maybe drink a gatorade/poweraid etc like others have mentioned

It is called orthostatic hypotension mine does that all of time sometimes if you get up too fast it causes the blood pressure to take a nose dive I have to check mine every day I never know what it will be

Mine drops super low when I get an epidural. First time they rushed to get it up. Second time the nurses just sat around talking like it was no big deal. Took them a while to even attempt to get it back up. I was so out of it I could have died and it wouldn’t have been a big deal to me.

Usually when mine drops which is often I eat pretzels salt helps you retain water and brings your blood pressure up

Drink lots of water.

Yes. I was at work.

Sadly I’m the complete opposite but I do wish u luck and congrats on the upcoming arrivak
