Has anyone had a baby with SVT tachycardia/arrhythmia?

Has anyone had a baby with SVT tachycardia/arrhythmia and had to take digoxin? What was your experience? I’m 28 weeks.

Digoxin is typically always used to abort so what are you talking about? During late term abortions digoxin is injected directly into the heart to stop it or sometimes into the brain. That makes no sense.

They put my premie on digoxin for her heart. She had some other problems and we had to take her to a good children’s hospital and the first thing they asked is why she was on that. I said for her heart. They said those meds are for old people and I was killing her with it. They immediately took her off it and she is 43 years old and heart is fine. She had a murmur that worked it’s way closed with time.

My daughter-in-law was given while she was pregnant with my granddaughter it started making her heart bad so they ended up having to an emergency C-section and taking my granddaughter 2 and half months early. they just took her off of propranolol that she had been on since birth for svt changed her over to a different med. Because the propranolol all made my granddaughter tired all the time and had no appetite but it was the safest for small child she’s almost four now

Yes. I took it the last 2 mths of my pregnancy. I had previously has open heart surgery and needed to go on it because of my heart deteriorating. My daughter was born full term with no issues and I was just fine as well. Don’t let people scare you. Do what’s best for you and your baby.

I’m sure digoxin can be used to abort babies. Its a heart medication meant to slow and control the heart rate when going to fast so of course injecting it into the babies heart directly will sadly only be fatal. If you are taking digoxin to slow your babies HR i mean I see their plan. But it will also affect you. So def ask them about the side effects for yourself and for your baby. I had to take BP medication when I was 32 weeks because my BP was getting pretty high. In effect it would make my baby really sleepy on the monitors and she’d have minimal activity and elevating heart rates. So eventually they lowered my dose. Def trust your docs. But don’t be afraid to question them for your safety and for your babys

Mine was 5 weeks. Had to take Lanoxin/digoxen it did ok. Had to add propranolol. Then 2 ablations one at 12 and one at 13 he is 26 and thriving! Scary when it happens though. Get a good pediatric cardiologist!!!
