Ladies, has anyone had a uterine ablation done for heavy bleeding? I’m highly considering it, but wanted opinions, good or bad. I didn’t know where else to ask. Please share your stories. Thank you.
I had one back in February and I wish I’d have done it sooner!
I did… Amazing!!! Best thing ever!!
I did & that’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself!!
I had one and afterwards I didn’t have a period for almost 10 years then started again .I recommend it.
YES!!! Amazing! Wish I had had it 20 years earlier!! Very little recovery. Was a huge blessing!! Good Luck
I had it many moons ago and it changed my life!
I had one done in November and have only spotted once since having it done. Best decision I’ve made.
Yes I did, in 2007 worked beautifully! No issues ; never had another period🙌🏻
Best darn thing I ever done! Been 13 years and it was a blessing! Highly recommend it! Was life changing for me!
I had a Hysterctomy best decision I ever made .
I did 6 years ago . It was the best thing I’ve done
I had it done. It helped with my heavy bleeding a lot but not with my pain.
Had it done three years ago! Have had no problems with bleeding or cramping since so glad I had it done. One day of discomfort and I was back to my normal routine.
I’ve done it and had a hysterectomy. For my health and the best wellbeing for my children, I made the right call. However, i am now married and we cannot have any children together. He married me knowing that and he is accepting, but I constantly play the what ifs in my head.
I had my tubes burned and an ablation. Best decision ever! I went from blood transfusions to 7 years of no periods so far.
I have several years ago and it worked great! I only have a super light two day period! Like panty liner light.
I had mine almost 20yrs ago and have never bled since, best thing ever did and had know menopause Symptoms
I did it! Greatest thing ever. One day of discomfort and no more periods and camping.
Had it done…no regrets…no problems. Best thing ever
My friend had one and it has been her biggest regret she has been in pain ever since
I did! No regrets whatsoever!
I opted for one instead of a hysterectomy. Best decision ever for me.
Best decision I ever made! I had mine in 2017. Instantly my iron levels improved and I started to feel more human. Not a single infusion after that! Not a single period either.
I had one and no periods for a few months but then they came back just as bad as before. I should’ve just had the hysterectomy, but wanted to try this because it is so much less invasive. Was an easy procedure and perfectly fine the same day at least.
I think an ablation is the best thing ever. I got one two years ago & no period since. Only slight pain the day of and good to go after 1 day.
Heavy bleeding and extreme pain. I had mine done several years ago and would recommend. Saves me every month. Very little discomfort afterwards.
I had it done last year and it worked. I don’t even get any bleeding now… it’s been great… still get the cramping once in awhile but nothing compared to what I had.
I went thru every step then had a partial hysterectomy best thing ever happened
Had this done years ago. I had no pain during or after the procedure. Stopped having periods for a year and a half, when they came back used a thin pad, done after 3 days. Had it done as my bleeding was heavy, I was anemic and had blood transfusion.
I did a partial hysterectomy, best best decision ever !
I did it, and it failed. I still bleed, but now I have excruciating cramps for 3 or 4 days every month. I’m looking forward to a hysterectomy later this year. Look up PATSS. There are several Facebook groups dedicated to warning other women about what can happen.
I did and it didn’t work. I will be scheduling a partial hysterectomy. Two other family members and a friend had it and it worked perfectly for them. Depends on the person!
Had one in 2013. Fast and painless. Didn’t have a period for almost 2 years. Got an ovarian cyst and it popped and started having one again. I don’t regret getting it.
I had one done in 2010 and I haven’t had a period since. No more PMS, cramps, or going through a ton of tampons and liners. Best decision I made.
Had it done and it didn’t work so ended up having a hysterectomy early 30s. Hope it works for you
Best thing ever, had it done last summer and no bleeding since.
I did, it didn’t work. Made my bleeding heavier. Ended up with hysterectomy. Best thing ever! Good luck!
I did, several years ago, it stopped my horrible periods, I rarely even spotted after, however, I’ve had to take a fluid pill since. For some unknown reason it happens to some women?
I had an ablation in 2019. Best decision I ever made. I too had heavy bleeding to the point I was anemic and getting iron infusions. The summer before my ablation I had 10 infusions! After my ablation I have had no more periods my iron levels are now normal. The recovery was not bad I had what felt like menstrual cramps for a day and then slight “bleeding”. I was able to go back to work 2 days after procedure.
I had that done in 2005 and it helped greatly
Had an ablation two months ago. I went one month without a period. My periods have come back. However, they aren’t as heavy and the horrid cramping has gone away. It was the cramping that was the worst for me, so no regrets here even though I still get a period.
I had a hysterectomy— you’ll be glad you did
I did. I love not having periods anymore. I do regret the surgery though because you can no longer have kids and at the time I didn’t think I would ever want anymore but now things have changed.
I had it it done in 2021. I haven’t had an issue since. Prior to that I had bleeding for 9 months straight More Than Moms
I had one and 10 years later had to have a hysterectomy. About 6 years in developed a uterine fibroid most likely due to the ablation. If I had to do over again I would just have a hysterectomy.
Yes and it’s the best thing I ever did!
Yes, I did. I had no issues at all. Here is the thing though, it was the only option I was given. If I knew what I know now, I would have never done it. It’s so easy to fully test hormones with a DUTCH test and balance hormones. An ablation fixes a symptom not the problem.
I went to get one… we decided to do a partial hysterectomy instead.
I had one in December, no periods since. I hate I waited so long.
I did back in like 2013 because I had such heavy periods that is would bleed through a extra super heavy duty tampon in less than an hour.
The procedure was quick and didnt have any problems afterwards. I still have my periods but they are now just a normal heavy flow.
I did in 2015. No regrets
I have and it worked for me. Stopped my period and now i don’t have to have blood transfusions. Just iron every now and then.
All I’m going to say is to do your research and look up possible complications and if the risks is worth it then do what’s best, for you. As for me, you couldn’t pay me to have that surgery done or a hysterectomy, the risks for me isn’t worth it, but like I said do your research and do what’s best for you
I had it done in 2017…Best thing ever…no conplications knock on wood…wish someone would of told me sooner about it
I did it didnt work i went on depo even tho my tubes are tied and thats helped alot.
I did & it was do to hyperplasia, hyperplasia leads to cancer, ended up less than a year later getting a hysterectomy
I had it done and made no difference so had a hysterectomy at 38. Wanted to go straight to the hysterectomy but I had to have this done first to see if it helped, unfortunately it didn’t x
Fix the cause not the symptom. Hormone test. Make sure your pancreas is doing what it should be doing. Vitamins in check. Etc. My mom had this done and it was absolutely hell for her for years after. Fibroids and eventual hysterectomy.
I had one last spring. 2 days post-op I developed a fever and made a trip to the ER. They found out I had developed a uterine infection. While they were transferring me to a room, my fever spiked, heart rate jumped to 160, blood pressure spiked which put me into convulsions, so they took me to the ICU. Spent 5 days in the hospital, with 3 of them being in the ICU. After all of that, a year later and I’m still having periods just like a before. Definitely was not worth it to me!
If they give you an option of hospital or doctors office, CHOOSE HOSPITAL!! That was the absolute worst pain of my life, and I started bleeding the very next month, just as heavy as I always did. I also ended up at the hospital 2 days later with an infection because I had a huge cyst on my ovaries that burst… it was an overall horrible experience.
Find out what is causing your heavy periods. There are conditions such as hyperplasia which can lead to uterine cancer. Mine eventually led to metastasized cancer of the lung.
I was not a good candidate for it, so I went for the partial hysterectomy. No regrets, I was done having kids.
I had one no problems. I did spot monthly very lightly for a few years. My cousin had one and did not do well. I would make sure you have a good doctor and do what you think is best. My cousin ended up with a hysterectomy but that was her other option so she had nothing to lose by trying. I had great results and never regretted it
I was on iron pills due to the heaviness of my periods. I had an ablation done. Definitely helped but I still have periods. Starting to get heavier again but nowhere near what I was experiencing previously. I had mine Sept 2019. Quick & painless procedure.
My OB said 100% of patients see some improvement at first. Eventually, a lot of women start to bleed heavy again. I opted out. Ask about Tranexemic acid pills. You use them as necessary…for example, if you need to be worry free for a trip, you take them for that trip. It’s not an every day type of thing.
If you’re done having kids get a laproscopic hysterectomy
Best thing I’ve ever done…
I got one back in February but it failed.
I had one 10 year ago best thing
Had one in 2007. No more periods. Less back pain. It was perfect for me. Yes some cramping at first.
Yes in February and has been one of the greatest decisions in my life
I had one done when I was 48. Had no problems and period never came back
Had one lasted for a few months, then had to have a hysterectomy at 40
I had an ablation. Six months later I started having horrific pain in my lower left side. I’m scheduled for a hysterectomy. I regret the ablation so much. Post tubal ligation ablation syndrome is what my doctor says I have.
Went to have one done and the doctor went right through my uterus, ended up having a hysterectomy .
