I don’t know if anyone in this group can help but I don’t know where else to go. Has anyone used National Debt Relief? I have some debt I would like to consolidate and have never dealt with anything like this. I have someone telling me no don’t do it cause it tanks your credit and takes forever for them to pay the debts off but I just wanted a second opinion. Thank to anyone who can give advice
If you can afford to make a payment plan, you can afford to do it on your own. Call the creditors, set a budget, make smaller payments. They will pushback, but they want to get paid. By the time you pay a debt relief ‘company’ the debts will be sold and start over. Just my opinion from experience.
You can do this yourself. Call around. If it is already with collection agencies they are willing to make deals.
It’s definitely possible to do it yourself but when I had a lot of cards open and got tired of shuffling payments around I ended up dealing with a place called Americor and I was very happy with the results. I started with them in December '22 and while I am still making one payment a month to Americor all my accounts are settled and credit scores are back up near 700. Now I only have one credit card with a nice low balance. The down side was I had to stop making payments on my accounts so my credit scores did initially tank to like the 400s. By like April or March of '23, my accounts were being settled and my scores started coming back up slowly. If you’re not looking to make any major purchases or finance anything in the next year or two, I recommend Americor.
