Has this happened to anyone else?

I gave birth 10 weeks ago and after problems with delivery I ended up having retained products. Finally almost 4 weeks postpartum I got a D&C. Doctors were baffled because during the surgery, I bled out and almost needed a transfusion. Then after surgery I almost bled out again. I was kept in hospital for a couple days for blood loss. A week later they realized I was still bleeding and they did a follow up MRI to realize there was indeed still stuff in there. They gave me the “abortion pill” (miso something) but it did not work. No cramping. Then they did 10 days of progesterone to induce a period and try to naturally eject the debris but that also failed. They now have me booked for a hysterescopy (using a camera to look inside my uterus). They suspect uterine atony which is I guess where your uterus “fails”. It is not rewinding to surgery , medical interventions or medication. The uterus will not eject the stuff inside and the cervix will not close. Im just eternally bleeding and on a cycle of antibiotics due recurrent infections. Please tell me that someone had gone through something like this? They’re telling me I will most likely be having a hysterectomy now because of it.

They can do D&C twice.

No sorry I never had any problem’s like that.but I do hope your problem will get cured.asap.

When I had my daughters 16 years ago I went threw something similar. I ended up getting a d&c 2 weeks after delivery. I hemorrhaged, had a transfusion and kept getting infections on and off for about 2years. My cervix would not close all the way and it was basically a sh*t show. I never ended up having everything removed but eventually I did end up having surgery where they went in a stitched up some things. Eventually the bleeding slowed and stopped.

Second opinion for sure. Obviously, get the hysterectomy if it’s absolutely necessary but I would be sure that all possibilities are exhausted first.

They need to do another d&c to make sure all placenta is out. Similar thing happened to me

My friend did years ago, or something really similar. They gave her an ablation. Definitely discuss all options with your doctor, get a second opinion if you can. Hope all goes well for you love

I had a hysterectomy because of something similar- but my uterus ended up rupturing

During the D&C they might have punctured the lining wall of the uterus…causing ongoing hemoraging…they need to look an see…if so…probably just medication to stop the bleeding…definatly get a second opinion from another OBGYN

I’m trying to get into it. (Potential spoiler) I missed why she decided to pretend to be her sister to begin with instead of getting help finding herm

My friend did this. She literally bled for months and ended up having the hysterectomy

Second opinion FROM A SPECIALIST OUT OF YOUR AREA, before you allow a hysterectomy.
Frankly, I’m not certain that I’d even allow them to do anything else at all to me.
It’s Time to find new doctors who aren’t tied into your local network.

Get a second opinion. Should have done something right after birth. You’re probably going to get infected if they keep waiting around. I would totally get a new Doctor. And I would try to find out what damage was done so far. Doctor should have made sure your placenta was delivered and sent to lab to make sure it was all there. If this wasn’t done then it’s medical negligence.

Mistoprostol only opens the cervix it does not expel uterine contents. Check to be sure which drug they gave you to promote expulsion of the uterine contents. If they only have Misoprostol they gave the wrong drug. Your cervix would have already been dilated due to birth. Get a second opinion. (Nurse here.)

Get a second opinion right away. A new doctor needs to see you even if you end up going to the ER in another town. Tell them all that has happened and been done… and see if they will check to see what else can be done before agreeing to a hysterectomy. They have messed around so long, hopefully permanent damage hasn’t already been done.

Call a lawyer! And get a second opinion. They did something wrong and they are trying to cover it up! I had a similar problem and I signed papers to have my tubes tied but I had another boy. So I was going to change my mind and figure they would forget because they might have messed up my uterus they went digging for the form I signed to make sure I had it done. I found out years later that my uterus was fine.

I’m assuming part of your placenta was left inside ? If so…why was this not discovered immediately? Placenta is examined after birth to ensure its all expelled.
Personally id be looking for a second opinion and legal advice

Get a second opinion & a lawyer asap
Hope you get it figured out fast

That happened to me w my first daughter w the uterus not contracting and I also bled out but it was under control before I left the hospital and have been okay since. I don’t think they should have let u leave the hospital like that. I would get second opinion just to see what another dr would have done or says about everything. Hope you get better

The medication that they help stop labor with can cause extra amniotic fluid. How do I know? I’m on that medication around the clock right now. Been on it over a week & they want me on it for as long as possible. I’m out of the hospital now, but I’m on a strict bed rest also
