How can I build my milk supply being so busy?

I really really need help. I am breastfeeding my son. I did great feeding my daughter almost a year ago I even over produced. No I can barely pump 1oz each side. I work full time and I’m a single mom. I have no time to pump but at night and early in the AM. What can I buy to build my supply that I can use on the go. That works. I am so frustrated I could cry.

I bought the willow pump! It’s wireless, hands free and sits in your bra so you can pump on the go! It’s a little pricey, but so worth it!

been said raspberry tea from health store

Brewers yeast they sell the vitamin form

Oatmeal in the mornings. Over night oats are good too.

Buy a hands/wire free pump

Do not take fenugreek and blessed milk thistle until you are aware of all the risks

Mothers tea and oatmeal and pump at least twice during a 8 hr work shift

I drank a tea called mothers milk and did super pumping pump every 10 min for an hour and drink lots of water!!! Increased my supply. I was pumping like u only 1 oz if i was lucky!!

Water! How much water are you drinking a day? Try drinking atleast 8 8oz a day or atleast double your intake of what your drinking now. Do that for about a week or so, If that doesnt work talk to your dr before you take any other supplement or anything

V8 hydrate coconut water drinks and the cucumber watermelon one

You gotta take it out to make it. I like the portable pump suggestion. I’ve seen the ones that go in your bra and work wirelessly.

Body Armor drinks. And also a portable pump they’re expensive but they’re worth it if you can manage to swing it.

Pump every 30 mins even if you only get alittle bit… your job is supposed to allow you time to pump… lots of water oatmeal, body armor drinks, mothers milk tea

Water, coconut, oatmeal - all worked for me. Pumping more frequently will for sure help produce more milk. Buy a car charger that is compatible with your pump. (They cost about $10). If you’re ever sitting in your car - pump.:tipping_hand_woman:t2: I worked all day driving in my car and pumped even while sitting in traffic. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Mama, your work has a legal obligation to provide you breaks for pumping, start pumping on your breaks. I personally use mothers milk tea, and oatmeal for breakfast and lunch, the more oatmeal I eat, the more milk I produce. Look into portable pumps, I personally like the manual pump from madela because it gets me a higher amount of milk than the plug in kinds do.

Lots of water, mothers milk tea, oats.
Can you put at all while working? I’m pretty sure by law they have to give you time to do so. If you have insurance they should pay for a pump. The one spectra pump has a battery so even if you had to do it in your car you could on a lunch break. Even if you did it in the morning like you said and once at lunch it would help.

Tumeric n ginger tea!

Make sure you pump a total fo 2 hours daily

I used to pump at lunchtime or bathroom brecks. Pump after a shower when not so stressed.

You have to remove milk to make milk!

Water, mothers tea, oatmeal and pump! Your work has to allow you time to pump and a designated area to pump.

My doctor said body armor drinks and vitamins like prenatal pills brewer’s yeast iron fenugreek

Healthy food also doctor says

You have to make time to pump. You remove milk to make milk. All there is to it

Drink Body Armour drinks

I made energy balls with dark chocolate, oats, peanut butter and brewers yeast

Get a pumping bra and a car adapter for your breast pump. Pump on the way to and from work in addition to your breaks (with a cover lol) even if you just pumped or breastfed. The more you empty your breasts, the more milk they produce. Power pump on the weekends. Milky mama has some awesome emergency lactation brownies, lactation teas/supplements. I always struggled with low supply so I know the tricks. Good luck!!

The only way to get more milk is to take more out

Fenugreek worked for me and lots of water :sweat_drops:

Drink dark beer. My doctor told me that, it works!

I ordered these on amazon and they worked! I didn’t even get to finish the bottle because I was getting so engorged! You need to pump during your breaks especially lunch, eat while you pump because no matter what you put in your body if you don’t remove milk you will not make milk, good luck

Fennel seeds mothers milk tea put ur baby on ur breast skin yo skin creates milk drink water…and eat plenty

Look into boobie cookies

Body armor and a bowl of regular oatmeal it will help

Be careful of fenugreek as it decreases supply in some women.
Look up power pumping and do this 2-3 times daily.
Latch bub as much as possible as well. It’s all supply and demand.

I feel your pain. Horrible supply with 1st son. Was told by lactation nurses (2nd baby, but didn’t bother, too many meds not good for breastfeeding) to try steel cut oats, fenugreek supplements, teas, plenty of water, healthy diet, and pump pump pump.

I use the honest lactation pills and lactation cookies when I dont wanna take pills

I used and am currently using…gatorade, body armour drinks, lactation cookies, tons of water, oatmeal, malted milkshakes. I didn’t do fenugreek because it didn’t seem to help when I tried it.

Use a haakaa to collect the letdown on the side you aren’t nursing on!

Have you tried fenugreek?

I used to take 3 caps 3 times a day. It helped me but then I had to be consistent with the pumping too.

Look up lactation cookies, they have recipes online. I think now they also have lactation brownies and smoothies and stuff. All healthy, all meant to boost your milk supply.

Oatmeal! And a ridiculous amount of water to drink each day. If you think you’ve had enough water then you need to drink like 3 more cups.

Even working full time, employers are required by law to allow you adequate nursing/pumping time, as well as a designated area that is not a bathroom. If your employer isn’t accommodating you, I would definitely mention it to HR/your boss.

Have you tried supplements like Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle?
I loved the MilkMakers Cookies from Walmart! The chocolate chip is so good! :yum: They’re great for snacks, but I also had one for breakfast with MilkMakers lactation tea!

Be sure you’re drinking lots of water! And I know how hard it is to do while you’re stressing about it, but try your best to relax while you pump! It may seem weird, but I would bring one of my babies receiving blankets with me to work so I had their scent and it really really helped me! I’ve also heard looking at a picture of them while you pump helps as well!

Do your best and that’s all. Don’t get frustrated and don’t be so hard on yourself.

Easy for me to say but try not to stress - stress can reduce your milk flow.

Drink lots of milk and relax

Fenugreek capsules. Once or twice a day. Noticeable increased supply within 24 hours. Nursed 5 babies using it.

Your employment no matter where it is has to let you pump. And oatmeal. And milk. And loooots of water. And then more oatmeal. I liked brown sugar. And then pictures of those babies. I need to see them. I would listen to videos and look at pictures. If your milk isnt letting down, you will only get a quarter of what you could potentially get. Also a schedule. It is important if you are exclusively pumping. Im on my second time of doing so and sometimes i cant get it to drop. Just. Cant. But once you get the hang of it, you will have 2 bottles extra for when u need that extra top off! And be freezing. It is so stressful but for me it is worth it. If you really want

I found a car adapter for my pump on amazon! They also have battery operated ones now (my cousin used it) so she could pump in public even and you couldn’t even notice!

Fenugreek worked wonders! I eventually had to scale back on taking them because I was having pumping parties 3-4 times during the work day. I eventually tapered off to one break a day where I would express six ounces within 15 minutes. Please educate yourself on the federal mandates and possible state mandates regarding breaks and privacy to pump at work to help build up your supply. And don’t stress! It can affect your let-down reflex. You got this!

Water, tons of it. If you think you’re drinking enough, drink more.

Keep pumping. The more you do, the more your body will respond.

My doctor prescribed Reglan to rebuild my supply and with regular pumping I was able to get back on track. Good luck. Find a way to stay stimulated throughout the day

Sunflower lecithin, also pink drink from Starbucks.

drink lots of water and pump often

Take Fenugreek capsules

Upspring milk flow pills helped me

Drink lots of water, pumping and feeding in demand is the best way unfortunately to increased your milk supply. Talk to a lactation specialist, maybe they can help you, but I would strongly suggest not taking anything ( herbal supplements ) without consulting a specialist first.

Oh in walmart by the breast pump n pads etc they have lactation cookies. They really work

How much your pumping isn’t always an indicator for how much you produce. Babies usually can get more out, I would nurse your lo and pump at the same time

The cookies are awesome :slightly_smiling_face:

Also- can you not pump at work? Pump the other side while nursing helps too…

So it sounds like you need to pump during the day. It is a law that moms who pump are supposed to have time and a place available for them to pump at work. Your supply will go down if you don’t empty your breasts more often during the day.
Sorry you are having such a hard time :worried:

The only way to increase supply is increase demand

Lactation cookies, lactation tea, LOTS of water, I’ve heard the BodyArmor sports drinks help increase supply. But the best way overall is to make sure you empty your supply often, the more you pump and feed the more you will produce.

Check your iron levels. If your iron is low, it’s harder to produce.
Some people swear by blue gatorade for an increase in supply.

No matter where you work they are supposed to be allotted time to pump at work…

I used to pump in the car while driving to & from work. Pop the cones in the bra under a big T-shirt & boom, 20 min pump session & I didn’t have to give up my morning coffee lol. If I didn’t do that I had to be up at 3:30 to pump, shower, make lunches, get kids ready, pump & then go

Drink minute maid pineapple with coconut water

My doc gave the the okay for mothers milk tea and my SIL was told to eat oatmeal.

Health dept may have resources. But watch for militant groups that get crazy

If you aren’t pumping during the day, you will never increase your supply. The more often you pump, the more you make. There should be a protected space at work or they are in violation of federal law here in the states.

Look into “legendary milk” vitamins
Those, oatmeal, body armour… those all helped me. My little one is 2 weeks away from being 1 yo and we’ve made it without any supplements thus far

Ask if you can pump at work too my work allowed it and even encouraged it I had my own fridge shelf even

Make sure you’re drinking enough water!
Like others posted, in order to produce more you need to either pump or bf you little one. I believe most pumps you can order a car plug to pump on the go.

milkmakers cookies helped me and are also yummy

Breastmilk is supply and demand…you have to pump to keep supply…eating enought calories and water help while pumping but without the demand your supply will diminish…maybe pump on way to work in car, breaks and have baby nurse at night as well.

Drink more. Stress less. Watered down fruit juices are better than regular water. Pump a few minutes past the point that you stop producing milk. Good luck.

You’re doing the best you can, be kind with yourself.
If you’re not against pharmaceuticals, ask your doctor for domperidone. I’m still taking it, and it’s helped hugely with my supply.

Nothing except pump and pump or nurse and nurse.
Stress will dry you up.
Sometimes as with my first child it’s easier to supplement. It’s okay.
Drink a gallon of water a day.

Sad some prick thinks this is funny I’m sorry your having troubles I hope everything works out for you

Milky Mama, LLC has wonderful products!!

Dr Pepper was the only thing to really help me

Poweraid and Brewers yeast helped me

Look for wearable breast pump. I’ve never used it, but maybe it will help. :woman_shrugging:

Oxytocin and prolactin

Your job is required to give you time to pump (besides normal break time) for up to 3 years after birth. Not sure what state you are in but look it up! Lactation products are a hit or miss! Just do your research. Massage your boobs anytime you can.

I strongly suggest power pumping!

Yeast helps produce more milk. Maybe a beer in the evening or yeast tablets

They make cookies. Dairy helps (milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, ect.) Also drink water.

I hate to say this but if you’re not pumping or feeding, no matter what you do or take, your supply is not going to increase. That morning pump is typically the best pump of the day. If you want more, you have to pump or feed.
