How can I dry up my breastmilk?

I’ve researched everything and have followed all of the suggestions on the internet. Even after trying them all, I still have milk if I try to express them. They don’t leak anymore though. Suggestions?

Take a cloth diaper on each breast, then take a crib sheet and have someone tie it as tight as they can for a few days and you’ll be good

If you keep trying to see if it’s there by expressing them it’s not going to go away, leave your breasts alone, as long as they aren’t leaking and causing pain and becoming engorged it should dry up eventually on its own. No nipple play and even continue some remedies while waiting for them to dry up, cabbage is a good one I’ve heard.

I just stopped pumping and mine stopped… I wasn’t trying to stop but got caught up with my son getting sick and my daughter…

I used cabbage leaves and it worked wonders for me. I would put them against my breast and have my husband wrap an ace bandage around me as tight as I could stand. Doing this for a few days completely dried my milk up.

What Aisha Payne said. Expressing is the problem. Don’t pump, don’t squeeze, don’t feed, don’t do anything that involves squeezing on your nipples.

Go to walmart and buy a tea call Earth Mama No More Milk …its very cheap organic tea supplement taste good also…I had a baby two months ago and this has help me instantly after the first cup …1 week and you will completely have no more milk

Take Sudafed. Cabbage leaves and warm showers helped with the pain of fullness, but once I took Sudafed, I was dried up in less than 48 hours.

One dose of diarrhea meds dried me up completely. Even tho it was unintentional it worked overnite.

Stop milking yourself, and wear a good tight bra or use super wide ace bandage, and have someone help bind your boobs. They don’t fill if they have no room to expand and fill.

It’s a pill from your doc, think it’s called Tace

Bind them with ace bandage

Shit I have breast fed for 3 yrs and can still Express some

The doctor can give you medication, but it’s very painful for a few hours. Don’t express the milk. Just wrap yourself tightly in a towel for a few days.

I used this medication makes you vommit I would not recommend it at all!

I used cabbage leaves, tight sports bra, ace bandages, and tight fitting shape wear.

I thought u could get pills from the Dr for rhat.

I wrapped mine, tight in a velcro waist trainer. But if you keep trying to get some, you will never dry

Don’t touch, express, squeeze them ,try and ignore them :rofl:and a support bra ,the brain will get the message, and with time stop producing ,or sending milk to the milk glands ,and relax it can be an emotional process also for both you and both , because it is a another phase of your baby’s life ,the bond you two use share through breastfeeding ,with time this too shall pass ,and congratulate yourself because you gave your baby the best of you through breastfeeding ,

Iam 6 years never dried up.

Cabbage leaves! I did them cold and changed them often when like every hour or so. It worked so good! Wish I knew that with my 1st!

My midwife from previous pregnancy said cabbage leaves… firm bra an don’t express at all or play with them and ur milk will dry up

Stop trying to express. If you aren’t actively leaking I would just leave well enough alone. It will stop on its own

Tight sports bra, cabbage leaves, and give it time!

Benadryl and an Ace wrap

I’ve heard cabbage leaves in your bra and if you feel engorged hand express but stop as soon as you feel relief so you don’t get any infections and you won’t keep up supply with this method.

I’m assuming you are passed them being engorged and leaking. It’s completely normal to be able to squeeze milk out for years after breastfeeding.
6 years later I could still squeeze a little out of mine. By the 7th year it stopped. Don’t squeeze them. Cabbage leaves and tight bras/wraps are just to soften the engorgement, I was also on the pill.

Stop expressing. Supply and demand.

My dr told me to wear a tight sports bra and do not let hot water hit them and I was dried up within a couple of days

Tight sports bra and cabbage leaves and no warm water whatsoever

Cabbage and an ace bandage dried mine up over night. I took the cabbage off the next morning and it was soaking wet with milk. It never came back either.

As long as they’re not leaking just leave them be they’ll eventually fully dry up

I stopped breast feeding when I dropped in golume to only 4 oz a day in July. It is damn near January. I never leaked. Never had pain. But more recently if im cuddling her, I may get a little wet drip. And can express a drip or too.

Cabbage leaves for sure!

Doc gave my friend something for that. It was for sure formula she said so her boobs cannot do what they do if not plan to breastfeed. And hers boobs never changed after

Frozen cabbage leaves, a tight bra, and patience

I literally squeezed milk outta my boobs the other day. I havent breastfed in eight years… lmao good luck

I haven’t nursed my youngest in 3 yrs and still have milk🤣

A frozen bag of vegetables, a tight bra, and tynelol worked for me.

Cold cabbage leaves, give them a gentle squeeze to express some cabbage juice. Place in bra and when the cabbage gets warm change to a new cold leaf. Do not try to express milk from your breast, leave them be. In three to five days you’ll feel like a new woman. If you follow directions you will also experience immediate relief.

Right bra and Benadryl or Sudafed

Honey sometimes it doesn’t dry up just stopped expressing it

I never fully dried up after my first kid and my kids are 9 years apart

Stop expressing them. It’s been 2 years since I’ve had a child and if I express my breasts milk will come out and I never breastfed.

Cold cabbage leaves on your boobs. Helps dry them up and eases the pain

Zyrtec, Benadryl, or Sudafed!

There are folks who can’t produce milk who are willing to buy breastmilk. Research how you can sell it.

Maybe stop expressing them?
If they aren’t leaking they probably aren’t engorged or painful so what’s the issue?

I’ve had milk since halfway through my first pregnancy over 16 years ago to now (my youngest is 6)

I never BF and I still leak when I try to Express them lol

Tight bra with cold cabbage leaves , DO NOT express at all !

Stop expressing them. I’m 3.5yr post partum, didn’t breast feed, and can still squeeze out milk if I try. +

cabbage … truly helps!

I didnt breast feed any of my 3 babies. Just had to let the milk come in and dry up on it’s own. Tight bra was the best. Its was 4 or 5 days of being swollen and sore but it eventually dries up.

Stop expressing and let it dry up :joy: if they’re not leaking anymore then you’re not producing much milk so let it be

Take a hot shower and Express all the milk from your breast and then apply a ace bandage around your chest for 3/4 days this method works. Keep in mind that while your wearing the wrap it will smell. Do not remove the wrap for until you feel your breast are back to normal. Good luck

My doctor told me sudafed and mint tea. It has worked for me. I weaned a week ago and I havent had any engorgement, leakage, or anything.

Don’t know y the Drs stopped prescribing a pill for it, back when I had mine the ob dr prescribed me a pill to take for 5 days and after 3 it was gone.

Frozen cabbage… dried me up in 48 hours

Didn’t breastfeed either of my kids and my oldest just turned 5. I still get milk if I actually try to express🤷‍♀️ I’ve heard of women still having milk 10+ years later…

Just leave them be, it will run it’s course and dry up. If you keep stimulating them whilst trying to see if there’s any milk you are encouraging it to stay x

Listen IVE TRIED ! the best thing you can do is have someone watch your child for 4 days and do not pump, it’s going to be hell. Every time I try I’m not successful, I HAVE to pump.
I heard cabbage leafs help

There is a shot ask your Dr.

Cabbage leaves is what worked for me…

Honestly, it’s perfectly normal to have milk months (and for some women, even years) after stopping nursing. If it’s not painful and you aren’t leaking then leave them be. The more you “try to express” the more you’re telling your body to make more.

How do you expect to dry up when you’re expressing?! That’s literally encouraging more milk production :woman_facepalming::joy::joy:
