So I was extremely worried about the scratching but my hospital told me the hands are how babies learn at this stage and the scratching usually looks worse than it is. However with my first she pulled of the mitten s too so we used long baby socks. They stayed on way better.

Maybe he had a skin condition. I would contact the pediatrician.

Keep the nails trimmed and scratching shouldn’t be a big issue… babies shouldn’t wear mittens too often, they need the sensory experience.

Keep the nails trimmed and frequently wash their hands, it’s only way to keep the fingernails clean

It depends how old baby is. But keep nails short and if it’s constant scratching, then please see a doctor as he have eczema will be irritating his skin and they can give moisturisers to keep it for feel itchy.
Also socks on his hands might help as there harder to get off x

This type of baby mitten specifically is the only kind I’ve been able to keep on my new babies(I have five :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:) and these have been the only ones that stay on their tiny hands cuz mine all have scratched terribly too! The other ones just do not stay on but these do and all my babies have been preemie or very small and these worked amazing otherwise long baby socks work too! Their little hands are so cold anyways so keeping them covered or in baby pjs with the fold over gloves on them. Hope this helps mama!

Bite his fingernails while you nurse him! :joy: That’s what I did with my littles!

It might be the soap that you use
