How do I get my 9 month old to stop biting me while nursing?! I’ve never dealt with this with my other children.

I firmly say “no “ and unlatch and turn away for a min.

Put breast milk in a bottle.

When my daughter did this I would unlatch her, tell her “ouch, don’t bite”, then set her on the floor. Only had to do that 3 or 4 times before she got the point and never bit me again.

Old enough to drink from a sippy cup

Those of you saying to use a sippy cup or baby is ready to quit, no. This is normal. Babies play with their bottles, it’s not different any different while nursing. There’s no need to quit or go to sippy. Just redirect them. Take it away every time they bite, and say no. Then give it back. They will learn to stop.

I pull out and cover up, with my index finger put it on mouth and say no or don’t get boobie. It worked for my girl after couple times. And sometimes it’s positioning, babies bite if they feel like they aren’t getting good enough latch.

My daughter use to tap her nose and say no bite it worked

I thump mine on bottom of foot and told her no. She only did it a few times after that. She nurse til she was 3and 1/2

Yell ouch and pull the baby off. It scares them and they learn after the first couple times that u bite no u get no more milk.

People won’t like this, but I’d tap or flick their cheek while saying No! no bite. It didn’t hurt them or make them cry, although my daughter did get a pouty lip once from it. Then she cheered right up and kept nursing. It showed them where the problem was & told them not to do it. Once or twice & they didn’t do it anymore.
