My 13 year old child with high functioning autism refuses to brush his teeth. I mean it’s so bad I have to hold him down to get them brushed. He now has severe gingivitis and the dentist can’t get it cleared up. If he’s not brushing better by next month the orthodontist is removing his braces and insurance will never cover them again. Any suggestions on getting him to brush? I can’t physically hold him down daily to do it. Teeth brushing has always been a struggle. We put his braces on him because he was embarrassed by his crooked teeth and severe overbite. We’ve tried rewards and consequences
