Is she a bigger baby…what fills a 6 lb baby won’t satisfy a bigger baby…I gave farleys rusks or baby rice through the day and a Rusk in her last bottle at night…with this all 3 of my girls slept through the night
Maybe time to think about a little cereal with her milk. My son was like that. He seemed constantly hungry and grizzly all the time. I added a little cereal mixed with his formula and he gobbled it up. I felt like such an awful
Mother but it worked
Start giving your baby pablum mixed with her formula, at first watery until she learns to use her tongue and swallow it and then gradually lesson the formula until its thicker…after a few weeks to make sure she isn’t allergic to it you can add in mashed banana’s or other fruit appropriate for her age…worked for me…my baby girl started sleeping through the night then.
Cereal. Mine were put on cereal at less than a month because they needed it. You can’t go by age. If a baby is eating that often they need more.
Put ceral and give her 8 oz
Hope everyone get some rest soon!
feed her rice cereal
Do not put cereal in her bottle. Bad advice. Very dangerous.
Enfamil gentle ease with little bit of nestum rice cereal help
Cereal off a spoon with the bottle not in the bottle
Cereal in the bottle make nipple bigger mine was on it at 3 weeks old with fruit she was eating and eating and never feeling full to where she would eat till she threw up once i added cereal it worked wonders fruit was added for constipation
My daughter was like that too, she wasn’t hungry just needed to breastfeed to fall back asleep and then because she was already full she’s throw it all back up. I got her used to having a dummy when she woke up like this and eventually she took that instead of feeding. Try using a dummy or try patting baby on the bottom or rocking.
Give her a little cereal. My son’s doctor recommended cereal when he was a week old because he was a big baby and the milk alone was not filling him up
Ask your pediatrician, not Facebook.
For my grandson he would not stop crying and up all day long daughter was at a loss so I can to her house and saw the problem I know you ladies are not going to agree cause she is three mouths but if you give her some soft mashed potatoes she will sleep good with a warm calm bath with a massage it will get the job done
Nothing wrong with putting cearal in bottle. That would be my advice also.
It has to be rice cereal! Not oatmeal and no matter what, do not make the nipple hole bigger yourself. Go to the store and buy the next size up if you need too, but you shouldn’t be making it so thick that she can’t get it out of the nipple appropriate for her age, which would still be size one since she’s not Atleast 3 months yet. My dr recommend 1 - 1 1/2 teaspoons of rice for 4-6 oz!
Sure I got the remedy
Add 1 top cereal to bottle n that will satisfy her n she will sleep better
My oldest son was like that. My mom told me to put a little of the cereal in his bottle not every bottle but like for breakfeast, lunch and dinner. It calmed him down. You don’t make it thick like cereal but just maybe a tablesoon in 6-8 ounces.
Teaspoons of cereal every other bottle. Kyrug syrup in case of constipation. First 2 days start of with 1 teaspoon- 1 bottle . Second day 1 teaspoon-2 bottles. Until she’s 6 months I would only put cereal in her bottle at night. Last bottle of the night. Your mom do what works for you. Soy is simply not enough to keep baby full.
Obviously there is something else wrong besides being hungry maybe check with your doctor it could be gas or something else only a medical person can advise you
Baby cookies and pablum
My kiddo had the same problem and she just wasn’t getting satisfied with just formula… her pediatrician recommended adding cereal with a little Karo into her bottles. The Karo is to keep them from getting constipated.
Try elevating the top part of the crib. Use a small book under each leg. The other thing is children. (Babies) are smart. Let her cry for about 5. minutes see if she goes back to sleep.
Mine was the exact same and hes 1 now, good luck its a bumpy road but youll get there
My almost 3 month old is going thru the exact same thing. But he only eats 4oz every 2-3 hours, cant get him to drink anymore. But nighttime he sleeps pretty great. During the day is a nightmare lol I know he’s tired but just won’t sleep. Nd already has cereal in his bottles due to reflux, doesn’t help us lol typical
She’s ONLY 3 months! Stop rushing to make her grown! Good grief!
All babies are different. At 3 mos to be going from 11-4 is a blessing. Just keep at it. She will shift when she’s ready.
My daughter was colicky I too had to give her soy formula but I added cereal or banana baby food to it she only napped a little bit they eventually grow out of it and each child is different I used a baby swing to get her to sleep
Maybe she has reflux and needs to feed to help the burning sensation
I gave my son very loose cereal in almost every bottle when he was that age. He cried all the time and needed more solid food. Stomach aches from spleen. It was Cronic I T P low platelets from immune disorder. It helped so so much just made the hole bigger on bottle nipple. I had to quit nursing.
so we in my family which is latino we would put cereal in the bottle after we would boil the water to mix with the formula we added either chamomile or anise seed we would strain it and then mix it with the formula and then in the bottle add cereal it made them sleep longer and they didn’t have digestional issues either…hope this helps…
They tell you not to do it but I would add just a little bit of cereal into the bottle and this seemed to help tremendously with my youngest who is 17 now. Maybe just a tablespoon or two.
You can also increase her milk intake, try 7 oz and see if it sits with her longer…she could be in a growth spurt
My 2nd born daughter was like this 21 years ago, she was diagnosed coeliac at 8 years of age, my other 4 children dont have it. My daughter only slept 10 to 15 mins at a time and was always hungry, she also suffered from really bad reflux till 4mths. I started solids at 5 mths and it helped. Wishing you all the best
A small amount of rice cereal usually helps. However you should run it by your pediatrician beforehand b/c by “their” standards babies under 4 months shouldn’t start rice cereal… I did it for all 4 of my kids bc of the same reason and it also helps if the baby vomits a lot (as I had 1 baby who had an allergy to regular formula and couldn’t keep it down). Hope it helps!! Good luck
Start your daughter on Liquidity baby cereal. Thick enough to where she can suck it out of a bottle nipple. That will make her feel fuller and sleep longer.
Hey, please do NOT feed solids to a baby under 6 months old! This is waaaaay outdated advice.
Both the World health organization and American Academy of pediatrics advise to wait until 6 months before feeding solid food. Please listen to them and not advice from random people on fb.
Maybe start her on first solid foods. My daughter also always seemed hungry and was on soya milk due yo lactose issues. I started her on first solids at three months on the clinics recommendation. She is a very healthy 25 year old now.
She may be ready for baby food my 2 month old takes 7oz every 31/2 to 4 hours and sleeps through night with last bottle at 11-12
Have you tried putting baby cereal in her formula
Mine was like that…I fed him a tsp of very milky( formula)… rice baby cereal…slept 5 hours
Has she been checked for blind reflux? This can cause babies to appear to be hungry and not sleeping…
Cluster feeding baby is growing
Put cereal in her milk
It’s normal. Don’t put cereal in the bottle. It’s a choking hazard and your baby’s stomach can’t process grains until 6 months old.
All babies are different. And 3 months is a growth spurt month. Increase feeds by keeping her interested/ awake during feeding. And hang in there.
You need a thickener for the milk to she feels fuller I had the same problem my daughter had a dairy allergy silent reflux and colic so as you can imagine she was a nightmare but the thickener I highly recommend ask your doctor for a prescription (if you get them where you are
Put some baby cereal in her bottle mixed with formula
Not alot just enough for her to get full
I use to beg for naps, and then I realized they grow so fast that why do I wanna miss anything
Please don’t put rice cereal in the bottle. Choking hazard and no nutritional value. Do not give your baby more than you already are, it’ll stretch babies tummy. Have the doc check for acid reflux, and understand that your baby may be going through a growth spurt and also maybe cluster feeding would be better. IF acid reflux, that means babies tummy hurts and they think eating a bunch will help it and it will for a second so they get conditioned to think it helped to eat.
Sounds like a growth spurt to me. She’s only 3 months. She can’t take more at a time. Her tummy is tiny. I don’t recommend adding cereal to her formula. It does work with many babies. The reason it helps them sleep longer is because their bodies aren’t developed enough to digest it. It has to work harder. This causes them to longer, not better. It also causes digestive issues in the future.
6oz every 2-3 hours is normal for 3 months
The amount she’s eating seems about right but the very little sleep doesn’t, they need more than 15 minutes at a time. I’d be asking my doctor for advice, does she suffer with collic? Does she poo regularly? Is she seeming uncomfortable or in pain, maybe ask about trying a different type of substitute, they should have ones for hungry babies. She might be getting over tired making it harder for her to sleep, there’s lots of things that could be causing the issue but without knowing the cause its hard to help. Hope you find the issue and get her sleeping more peacefully
Feed her real food. Put cereal in their bottle. Try it… it will work. You’re asking advise. Follow it. I raised four of my own and six that weren’t mine. You want them full. FEED THEM. It really is common sense. All mine ate what we ate by four months old. Slept through the night. I’m talking 9 at night to 4 am. Tummies full.
Pediatricians DO NOT RAISE our kids we do. They offer suggestions and you as parent chooses what to follow.
Look into baby led weaning.
My 9 month old went through a sleep regression around then. She for week barely slept
Every child’s sleep schedule is different, some are easier to put on a scedual then others. cluster feeding is normal, babies stomach is so tiny at this stage.
It’s best to not add anything to the milk. First it’s a chocking hazard and second babies that age cannot digest that stuff yet and cause constipation for most and even worse for others.
I used to cut little hole in the nipple and add rice cereal to the formula. Then they would be full and happy babies!
Thats normal not all babies sleep 24-7 the babys not even 12 weeks old it won’t sleep properly untill its ready! Every child is diffrent! Babies don’t have schedules you work around there needs not the other way around
Maybe changed milk to hungrier milk see if that helps x
Mine did this, he had acid reflux. 1 day on an antacid and he was a completely different baby.
This is my daughter except she goes to bed between 4 a.m. and sometimes 9 a.m. sounds like colic. probiotics helped for a while but what helped the most was white noise for colicky babies. You can look it up on YouTube . I also got a box fan and she loves the noise. My daughter also turned 3 months old today and she’s already getting a LOT better so just hang in there.
3months old!!! They’re sappose to be eating often!!! As for the schedule the baby won’t really have a schedule until they’re at least 9-12 months and just be consistent, have a bedtime routine, books, and songs It’ll be okay. Just remember all babies are different so different things might work for the new baby
That seems normal for being 3 months old, but if you’re concerned definitely speak with her doctor, if you think she’s not getting full enough you can ask her doctor about maybe small amounts of baby puree to help, but always make sure to get the ok from her doctor before giving her baby food, maybe you could also try white noise, giving her a little security blanket and one thing that helped with my son was holding him until he fell asleep then I’d transfer to his bassinet
If you wanna try a schedule you can slowly start go introduce one to see how she adjusts to it
Best of luck mama I hope things get better
Sounds like cluster feeding let her sleep and eat when she wants
The fact that she sleeps 5 to 7 hrs a night is why she eats so much during the day. She barely gonna be 3 months. If she’s eating every 2-3 hrs during the day then she’s missing 1 to 2 feedings at night and is making up for that. Not all babies are gonna sleep through the whole night for you and if they do then they eat more during the day. Also she could be going through a growth spurt. As far as naps you might just need to figure out different sleeping arrangements. Maybe a different room. Maybe sound, maybe play with her for awhile and get her tired. Not sure what you do so I don’t want to assume but even 3 month olds like to engage.
My son turned out to be allergic to both soy and dairy…perhaps try another formula.
A little cereal in her milk will help and put her down the same time every day at night do that to give a her a warm bath at night then the cereal in her bottle
Rice cereal. Both my children were given cereal at three months with no problems. They always slept great.
Give her some baby cereal mixed with formula and a little applesauce. That might fill her up. Sounds like formula alone isn’t enough for her.
Definitely need to feelx her cereal and baby food. I had my boy completely off of bottle and formula at 10 months old.
Try goats milk cause the formula may make him have gas and that’s why their not sleeping.
Try a tiny bit of cereal (rice) in some milk. Feed it to her. Not in the bottle. The Dr will not agree. This has been a solution for centuries.
I fed my kids rice cereal with applesauce , first choice… it helps fill them up enough til they are full! Formula & breast milk not enough at 3 months of age! Some babies need more! Whatever it takes to fill their bellies & mom can get some rest! Good Luck!
Cereal and if she cries a lot it sounds like she needs the drops for gas. Babies are miserable if they have gas.
I would start her on some cereal when my son was born he was 9 lb 9 oz and I was nursing but he was never getting full so after one week I started giving him a little bit of cereal and he would sleep a lot better and wouldn’t be hungry constantly
If my youngest had slept from 10-4 I would have been over the moon she didn’t sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time until she was 18 months old and even then I had to put her in bed with me to get sleep
I went ahead and started mine out on a very thin mixture of rice cereal mixed with their formula. It kept them full longer, didnt cause allergies or compromise their weight.
Both my kids got cereal in their bottles at 3 months. They slept better and were happier b
Just 1 or 2 small spoonfuls of rice cereal mixed on her formula about 930 or 10, with the last feeding for the day, right after a nice warm bath, she’ll sleep all night.
Lucky you she sleeps long at night. Awake during the day. Add tiny bit of rice cereal to bottle or try baby apple sauce? Talk to your Dr. Every baby different. Ask them to run a PKU on her?
I bought a baby hot water bottle to put on my shoulder or knee and that helped with gas too.l
I did cereal for both of mine starting at 3mo they were big eaters. Ate 6oz every 2hrs plus cereal. So I could at least get a 2 he sleep. That went on till 6mo then they both bumped up to 8oz plus cereal and I could get them to sleep 6+. Yea! It was finally a whole night sleep for me and them
I started my so on baby cereal at that age for same reason. Before putting her to bed buy baby cereal and put a bit in her last bottle with the milk/formula you give her
Put rice cereal in with formula sounds like she hungry. Make some catnip tea give her some. Old timers used it.
Rice cereal in her formula. As for sleeping you have to be the one to set a schedule and stick to it but for the most part at 3 months they still have their own sleep schedule
Add cereal to her feeding bottle prior to bed time make it soupy adjust nipple hole worked for my boy from 4 wks once drink 32 in formula in day they need the substance filler can give at bkfast w bottle an bottle prior to bedtime bottle usually state w rice or o a treat baby cereal
Sometimes I hold them while they sleep so they can get used to sleeping longer, maybe three days in a row. Once u establish this sleeping routine don’t let anything interrupt it. Also are they waking up because they wet the diaper?
Sounds like she is going through a growth spurt and needs more formula to fill up. This happens every 3 wks and lasts for a WK to a WK and a half each time.
Both my babies slept all night by 7 weeks. The doctor said 11 pounds was often a magic number for sleep. Then slept well unless sick or teething.
Baby cereal mixed in with formula…or breast feeding…mix it into breast milk to thin it…spoon it in…does the trick
My son was like that l put a teaspoon of rice pablum in the his bottle seemed to be satified
Started rice cereal at 4 weeks. Added another cereal after 2 more weeks. Added something else every 2 following weeks.
When my son wouldn’t sleep bc he was hungry, I would “baby cereal” in his bottle. The milk would get thicker and he would get full and finally sleep ALL night. I would try that. He was 3 months old when I did that.
Add rice ceral to her bottles that’s what I did when my daughter was that age she slept better and longer then started to sleep through the night
My son was put on rice cereal at 2 weeks because he was drinking 12oz every 2 hours.
Try baby rice before her last feed.
Six ounces every two to three hours is quite normal. I take it that she doesn’t consume the full six ounces in one feeding, but takes just an ounce or two at a time and sleeps for short periods during the day? Suggestions:
Burp frequently during feedings and aim for a truly full tummy. Don’t let her fall asleep after just an ounce or two. Burp her, change her, stimulate her with activity. Keep offering formula until she either barfs or pushes out the nipple with her tongue. Once she’s completely full lull her to sleep. If she wakes up before two hours have passed, play with her until she just won’t wait for a feeding any longer, then feed her. Keep doing this gradually until she gets closer to 6 ounces every 2-3.
