Anyone else’s 2 year old spitting? Ughhh I lightly tap his mouth when he does it and tell him, “we don’t spit”. Toddler stage

Just a sturn no and carry on. So ignore that behaviour. But reward good.

Maybe instead of saying “don’t do this” tell them what they should be doing, like hey, dribble stays in your mouth please. Like when we say “don’t stand on the table” all the kid hears is “… stand on the table” so instead I say “put your feet on the floor”, redirection is the way to go

This gentle parenting is almost comical. My mother would have put hot sauce on in my mouth everytime I did something like that.

It might be a sensory thing…My Nephew’s have Autism and they spit as like a stim or they move spit in and out their mouth’s…
Its gross i know but i wouldn’t overreact to a 2yr old doing, its probably a phase…
I just used to say to one of my Nephew’s you can’t spit on the floor but here is a tissue…
