Does anybody know how to quicken the process of getting over strep?? I’m literally dying. Like 3 days now I can’t get out of bed. Fever constantly. Body hurts. Throat feels like razor blades. Can’t barely move my neck. I’ve taken 3 doses so far of amoxicillin. Tylenol and ibuprofen barely working.

Tea with honey, fluids and rest
My 9 year old son had a bad case of strep back in September and unfortunately he had to wait it out and take a couple days of the antibiotics in order to feel any better. You could also try gargling with salt water, popsicles also.

My 12 year old just had this, 4 days of fevers, puking, sore throat, just laying in bed sleeping he’s been on amoxcilion 4 days now and just starting to feel better! Good luck

Nourish your body…lotsa water…hot liquids…honey and lemon in hot water
.veg n fruit. Lots of rest…some sunlight !

Just kidding. Strep is the WORST!! Had it 2 weeks ago. Dr told me: Keep taking those antibiotics! Tylenol Ibuprofen switch every 4 hours. Gargle with warm Salt water. Personally, I drink a hot toddy for the pain and to help with sleep. Cup hot water, teabag of choice, shotglass brandy or whiskey, honey and lemon to taste. Good for your soul:heart: Get better soon

Be sure it’s not covid. I thought I had strep and when I went to doc it was covid.

Sounds like you need a much stronger antibiotic
I would call the doctor you may need augmentin, mine is usually gone pretty quick.

You need antibiotics. At least 7-10 days. Strep can do damage if not treated! Retired certified medical assistant…. Please get checked out by doctor.
You may want to contact a doctor as soon as possible because strep can go to the brain, and if it does, it’s definitely not good.

Call your doc and ask for a steroid. When I get strep it’s so bad my tonsils swell to the point my throat closes. I got strep about three weeks ago and the rapid test was negative even though I knew what it was , urgent care prescribed me  prednisone which gave a huge amount of throat relief,  and when the lab test finally came back they prescribed antibiotics.  They waited so long for the antibiotics it caused a slew of other problems but that’s besides the point.
They say by day 3/4 of the amoxicillin…

You will need antibiotics. You won’t get over strep unless you go to the doctor and get medicine. Strep can cause heart problems if you don’t get rid of the strep
Go back to the doctor and ask for the shot. It works in the first 24 hours.
Call your doctor may need a different antibiotic amoxicillian never works with me when I have strep
Takes a couple days for the antibiotics to take action if you got any you need penicillin.
Sounds like you need a steroid with the antibiotic
