My son is one and he has had ear infections before. We go back to the doctor next Thursday to schedule an ENT appointment. He has had fevers in and off for three days now. He was given antibiotics yesterday so , he has had four doses so far but it just seems like the temperature is getting higher. I finally got it down and he is asleep. But he keeps jumping in his sleep and he has never done that , does anyone know what it could be? Or any ways to get his fever down faster ?
Luke warm bath with epsom salt.
Infants Tylanol and strip him down to diaper when he wakes. Hope he feels better soon.
Keep him cool! Less clothes and no hot heavy blankets
Not a lot you can do he’s restless from being sick as long as he’s drinking fluids and Tylenol or I ibuprofen bring the fever down a bit it’s okay. Been through those sleepless nights too many times. Ride it out and comfort him. Fluids fluids fluids
Slightly Warm but cool bath
Meds for fever and pain bath and it takes about 3 day’s for meds to help clear it up. I have my little one at home with same thing now as well as strep. Sucks hope LO feels better soon.
Sounds like the beginning of the flu
Have they checked him for a UTI?
You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin.
I would be using Advil in conjunction with Tylenol…just keep track of proper dosing, but it is safe to use both. Be careful if you take advice regarding stripping clothing and cool baths, since anything that brings him to a shiver is actually raising his body temp. I would keep lightly dressed - whatever you can get away with and him not begin shivering.
Do motrin then after 3 hours do Tylenol
You can alternate tylenol and ibuprofen. Tylenol every 4 hours and ibuprofen is every 6 to 8. My 10mo had a fever over 103 for 5 days recently. She was super jumpy and sensitive to sounds. The doctor recommended to alternate the meds at 4 and 6 hours. She wasn’t a fan of the baths but I did put a ice pack in a zip lock for her to play with as well as cool wash clothes.
I sponge my kids down with water and peppermint oil for fever. Works everytime. Continue with meds as well though.
Tylenol or ibuprofen for his age - my kids had ear infections tooo much finally had ear nose throat dr put vent tubes in lot lot lot better ;”) only takes shot n hour 1/2 outpatient area .
Alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol every few hours, My son went through something similar when he was 8 months old and dr had me giving antibiotics and alternating the pain/fever reducers.
Rotate tylenol then ibuprofen
Do you have ear drops
Cool Spong baths put him in cool cothed give him veaver messice
Do a kitty Coctail as they use to call it motrin and tylenol then rotate it like it is supposed to
My two year old is getting tubes put in on the 22nd he’s had several ear infections and sometimes they can make you feel dizzy so if you’re falling asleep or you are asleep and you move could feel like you’re falling do the water in the ears or fluids also when you have fevers you know how it feels yourself when you’re trying to sleep you just feel awful the ENT might suggest tubes if your child has had more than three to four ear infections in the last year
