Pull drinks at a certain time and make him go to the restroom before going to sleep
Stop liquids two hours before bed and have him go potty before laying down
Limit fluid intake before bed and make sure they go potty right before bed. My son goes to bed at 7/7:30, and he’s cut off from drinks around 5:30/6.
Takes time. My 4 year old still has an accident once a week or so.
The only thing that worked for my 3 year old was letting her pee the bed. She realized she didnt like laying in her pee. (I would change her bedsheets before anyone freaks) and eventually she stopped.
I woke my guy up every 3-4 hours until he got in the routine himself.
Teaspoon of honey before bed 4 days to a week straight. My family swears by it for night time accidents
Definitely stop fluids about an hour before bed and take to the bathroom right before laying him down also helps to wake him up in the middle of the night to see if he has to potty and he’ll adjust better to waking at night
You need to let him wear real underwear yeshe will be wet but that’s how he learns , just be prepared in the morning. Soon he will wake up when he goes and next before he goes.
Take those pull ups completely away and put him in underwear. Let him pee the bed. He will soon stop. Also stop liquids about an hour or so before bedtime and get him to pee right before bed
No, this is a developmental issue.
Limit the drinks at night. Cut him off at a certain time before he goes to bed. I did that when I potty trained my oldest son and he has never had an accident at night and he’s almost 6. Never put him in pull ups at all.
That will come in time. Some children have accidents at night into their early teens
Just cut back his liquids in the evening and make it a rule to go potty before bed. You could try getting up to go potty before you go to bed also but you risk him becoming awake and staying awake.
I have a hard time saying take their drinks from them. I would say limit yes. I have a hard time refusing water because I would hate for someone to deny me water when I’m thirsty lol. My kids (3 and 7) take water with them to bed. Put him in underwear and let him have an accident and he will learn. But some kids it takes longer. My 7 year old niece still has to wear a pull up to bed.
This is actually common. My sons specialist told me boys can wet the bed up to ages 17-22. It’s an involuntary thing. Their bladder muscles aren’t strong enough.
My son stopped wetting at 15.
Punishing him or making a big deal out of it can make it worse.
If he hasn’t out grown it by age 7, a specialist can tell you if it warrants medication or not.
I agree with Katlyn Arthur
I make him go pee before bed and as soon as i wake up. At 6 am.
Good luck, I asked my child’s doctor and he basically said every kid is different. Limiting drinks does nothing as our bladder’s fill up regardless. I have mine go before he goes to bed, when he gets up ,and I have a night light so he’s not scared to get up and go at night. Good luck but it is normal for some kids, mine is doing good but has had a accident here and there and he is now 6. Mattress protectors are great to have!
Slow down on drinks cut them off at certain time be sure he pottys before bed
Not really sure my almost 4 year old just one day started staying dry all night and we deliver newspapers and would make him wear on doing that and he would have a fit if we told him to just owe in it. It will just come to the we have not had a accident in a good 4 or 5 months he gets up and goes to the bathroom when he needs to.
With my oldest I left the little potty in her room at night. She was scared to go use the big half asleep.
My husband would wake our daughter up every night at 2am and make her use the bathroom. No accidents even after her mother said she had a problem wetting the bed.
Stop any fluids after 6pm. Two hrs before bed n please don’t wake the child up. Won’t take long n he will get up to go potty or sleep thru the night n go first thing in the morning
Let his bladder catch up, for many kids this is normal and you shouldn’t worry so much. You can make him go potty before bed and limit night time drinks and if that isn’t enough maybe getting him up in the night to go potty again might help but for some their bladders just aren’t at that stage yet.
I make my son use the potty before bed and its been helping a lot.
