Don’t consume anything sugary that’s all

It’s not a trick, but don’t eat sugary foods the day of and before the test. Good luck.

No carbs and lots of water . But either way the drinks are loaded with sugar so it could go either way. Best of luck!

Don’t matter what u do or don’t do

Dont drink sonic icees day before :rofl:

I got to pick my flavor for the test. And they chilled it. (For my second pregnancy) I got to pick between orange, lemon lime, and fruit punch. Fruit punch is pretty bomb diggity. LOL  dont consume sugar. Water is great.

I think it’s based on your regular diet during pregnancy not what you eat or drink the day of.

Make sure to follow their fasting instructions

Eat nothing drink nothing for 12 hrs.

Ask if they have the glucose drink that is BVO and dye free.

They told me I didnt need to fast so I drank Gatorade and my sugar was high.

Get the lemon lime one if you have a choose. It’s the best tasting. Avoid orange or fruit punch. There’s no trick.

It is not a pass or fail test. It is more measuring levels of glucose. No need for concern unless diabetes or pregnancy related diabetes runs in your family. Good luck, stuff tastes gross, like flat soda.:wink::wink:

Dont try to alter what you do to past the test. It is based off your every day diet. And they do it to make sure you and baby are ok, my opinion is to do what you usually do and avoid sugary stuff the times they instruct you too.

Some drs have you not eat anything after a certain time the day before and others tell you to continue eating as you normally would. I didn’t avoid any particular foods leading up to my tests and I passed both of them. It’s just how your own body processes sugar and everyone is different. Just don’t throw it up because they’ll probably make you come back and do it again.

Nothing you do or don’t do will change the results of the test, you’ve either got it or you haven’t

Don’t fast longer than they want you to, if they want you to fast. It will cause your sugar to be spiked. Try to avoid sugary and carb filled foods at least the day before, but more days before is better. Have high protein foods instead

Follow the directions they gave you. Drink water. Don’t eat something small even if you think “it’s just this tiny thing” it matters.

Go first thing in the morning and don’t eat anything.

I had bacon, eggs and water that morning, no toast or milk… no sugar!!! At all!!! And i passed my first time. I also had the orange drink, and it tasted like flat sunkist with alot more sugar added! Good luck!

I downed a shit ton of sugar and carbs before my glucose test because I forgot about it. But I’m hypoglycemic (my blood sugar is always low), so I still passed.
But seriously, don’t do that lol

Don’t eat or drink anything but water 12 hours prior.

I didn’t do anything at all for either of mine. My results came back normal both times. The second time I ate and drank a coke maybe 30 minutes before my appointment :woman_shrugging:

Please don’t try to trick the test. If you haven’t had sugar in your urine every time since you have been going, you will most likely be fine. That sometimes isn’t always the case, but most likely. Accurate results are for you and your babies safety.

Some doctors say don’t eat before the 1 hour, some say eating something is fine before the 1 hour, so go off whatever your doctor told you. I just had my 1 hour glucose test & I ate some boiled eggs & carrots. I passed mine just fine. My doc told me I could eat before just to avoid sugary things.
Eating before isn’t going to do much difference unless you just sit & eat bags of candy lol.

Eat a light meal before your test…no sugar and watch the amount of carbs you eat…unless they want you to fast then you can’t eat anything after midnight the night before

My Dr told me to not drink anything with sugar before the test starting the night before and eat a light breakfast in order for me to pass it. I did that and I have passed all 4 times I’ve been pregnant

Eat normal. I had a donut before my glucose test and passed :woman_shrugging:

They told me that eating or drinking before hand doesn’t affect the test . With that being said , i had probably drank like 3 sodas and had ate (i didnt know i was taking the test the day i took it) . I failed my first test - by my doctors standards , your sugar is suppose to be between 39-139 or somewhere around in there i believe but my doctor prefers it be under 130 - mine was 131 . So i had to fast and go in and do the 3 hour test

You can’t eat from 10pm the night before, if you must be water only, if you do the test. Will be void can’t even have a rennie! you don’t have to do anything to pass it.

Watch your sugar intake before you fast. I barely failed the 1 hour test due to my poor choice in breakfast that day and had to do the three hour test at the hospital. Passed that one just fine, avoid the sugars though.

Don’t eat sugary foods before you go

I had normal meals and mountain dew before all 4 of mine(4 pregnancies) I passed everytime.

I had a can of pop before my test, failed it. Had to take the 3 hour one and passed that one. I would just recommend not having anything with a lot of sugar before you go. Because yes, too much sugar along with the drink that they give you, can and will throw off the results of the test which is why when they make you retake it, you have to fast for 10 hours.

I ate crackers during the night lol and I failed my test. Then had to do the 3 hour test. Its not worth it. Just don’t eat or drink anything but water like they recommend. Good luck!

It’s not a damn game, they are checking you for gestational diabetes for the safety of you and your baby. My doctor said not to eat anything terribly sugary before, but that’s it.

Why are you trying to alter it?! It’s kind of important to get accurate results… You are acting like it’s a drug test! :joy::joy::joy:

I ate bacon eggs and toast and drank oj before i took it with my first and i passed. My second i didn’t eat and still passed. There really isn’t a trick, you either pass or fail, your body decides that.

if its the one hour, I ate nothing and failed lmao the 3 hour they tell you it DOES matter what you eat the day before. high protein, low sugar. no food after 10pm the night before. I passed my 3 hour.

My doctor had me fast from midnight till I took the test

With my first two, I was told not to eat after midnight. So I assumed it was the same with #3… then she told me when I was there it was only 2 hours prior to the test lol. But I didnt stop doing what I normally did and I passed all 3 the first time.

I didn’t know I was having the test until I was at the doctor. Still passed. Just keep doing what you’re doing

My Dr told me I could have anything high in protein. Avoid carbs and sugar. So if you want to eat something have like bacon and eggs? And I drank water before mine. Passed it with no problem

I forgot I had to take the test… ate half a cake… took the test SHOCKINGLY came back high so I had to go for the longer/crappier test and came back fine lol … dont eat half a cake

I was told to not eat an hour before the test I think it was.

Nothing is going to change it. If you have gestational diabetes you have it, no matter what. And you don’t wanna do anything to mess with the results since it’s a pretty serious diagnosis

the night before i wouldnt drink or eat anything high in sugar. i would eat something high in protein like lean meats as well as stuff lean in overall sugars productions like veggies. i would leave out stuff high in sugar productions like potatoes, rice, noodles, bread

I literally had McDonald’s cheeseburger meal and fried pie and chocolate frappe with whipped cream 2-3 hours before the appointment
I passed the test.
