How cold does it get in Colorado/Utah?

Hi ladies, I need suggestions please… my family and I are going on a 2 week vacation to Colorado and Utah for Christmas. We’ll be camping and staying in hotels. It will be my husband, our 3 kids and me. Mommas who live in these states how cold does it get and what do you suggest I pack for my kids? Does it snow around that time?..

Very cold and very snowy. Pack accordingly and allow extra travel time. Get trip insurance if you’re flying there are a lot of flights delayed and cancelled out of Denver especially in the winter months.

We can’t really give you like true accuracy of the winter weather in Colorado because it has a mind of it’s own and does what it wants to. I’d prepare for all 4 seasons in the same day.

Camping during Christmas?… bundle up!!

You rather do hotel or Airbnb for 2 weeks it’s too cold for camping in the winter

It gets cold and the snow depends on where you will be but it can be a lot of snow

Colorado weather has a mind of it’s own. We can have all four seasons in one day. It could be below zero and snowing or it could be in the 40s. Pack for every occasion, and if you are coming from flat land make sure that you start drinking lots of water about a week or two before you come. Altitude sickness is no joke

I definitely wouldn’t camp, but that’s just me lol :joy:. It depends on where in CO you go, it will be cold no matter where you end up but may not be as snowy, depending on the winter as well. I’ve lived in CO my whole life but the last couple winters have been nothing compared to others I’ve seen… definitely pack pants, long sleeve shirts, big jackets, and winter gear (boots, gloves, hats, etc.)

The temperature in Colorado at Christmas can vary dramatically from town to town, depending on whether you are in the mountains or the plains. I live in Pueblo and our lowest average temperature is 17. But the mountains can be below zero. Just come prepared for any weather.

Coats, snow pants, gloves, boots. It definitely snows around Christmas in Utah. And it does get pretty cold. I wouldn’t camp during that time

It’s cold there, but not that kind of cold in georgia. Georgia is brutal, northern states cold but not unbearable

Cold and snowy I would definitely not want to camp during the winter…

Definitely depends on elevation in Colorado

If you try to go between co and utah you’ll have to cross mountain passes or wyoming so major snow is guaranteed.

Agreeing with everyone during the winter it maybe 30 or 40s in Colorado maybe even 20 during the day but during the winter nights it gets into the negatives pretty much wherever you are especially at higher elevations unless ur a pro I say skip the camping and probably book ur rooms longer
