Growing up I wasn’t allowed to watch TV during the week. Friday nights and Saturdays only. Parents reasoning was that it’s a distraction from school. But honestly I was still skipping and hiding homework because I just hated it. However my best friend was allowed to watch TV weekdays after homework and she had better grades than I did. I guess in theory it makes sense but I think it depends more on the self discipline a kid has.
So I’m still trying to decide what I will allow for my 5 year old when she starts school next month.
What are some of the rules or restrictions other parents have been setting?
We do not have screen times in our house. They are allowed to do as they please.
