White vinegar works well. I spray the fabric with heated white vinegar, blot with absorbent paper towels, and allow it to air dry a bit. I then sprinkle the area with baking soda, followed by lavender essential oil. I let this dry for several hours. I then vacuum the area—no more urine stain or smell. I have never used the method on a couch, only on mattresses, but I am sure that it will work.

Whatever you clean with follow up but letting it dry in direct sunlight!

Whatever you use make sure you pat and not scrub and spread.

The pet store sells something called Simple Solution. It breaks down all biologicals (pet, human, food) I’ve used it on puke, urine, pet stains, blood, food spills, etc) Doesn’t smell like chemicals and works beautifully.

Rubbing alcohol and baking soda

I tried using a carpet cleaning vacuum. Still smelled. Used powder to mask the smell. Still bad. Then just sprayed it with bleach, the cushion itself otherwise I washed the cover in the washer.

I have a shampooer and I use the pet soap for it lol

Pets and kids pee on anything :woman_shrugging:

I swear by vinegar and baking soda! I have 3 dogs, one of which is still a young dog, plus a 5 yr old that has wet dreams. In a spray bottle I mixed white vinegar, baking soda and a bit of febreeze fabric mixed all in one. The vinegar helps with the pee smell and the rest helps it smell better. I’ll even mix some shampoo carpet soap in it on occasion to help the spots I didn’t notice for a bit with the smaller animals.

Have it professionally cleaned

If you know someone that uses Melaluca they have something called Sol-u-mel that works amazing. The next best thing I’ve found was Clorox urine remover.

Be careful about layering of cleaning agents (even natural ones)… that will sometimes lock in an odor or make it worse. If you have used several things to clean … use (or borrow) a carpet/upholstery steam cleaner and flood it with plain water… and then suck it up… repeat if necessary. Then an enzyme cleaner like you get at pet stores.

Make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply, let dry, and vacuum it off.

We used vinegar & baking soda. The covers don’t come off your couch? I washed mine in the washing machine, delicate cycle, took the cushions outside & cleaned them with the baking soda & vinegar mix. I let the sun dry them. It worked. Gotta love the potty training stage!!

If it’s cat nothing helps if not everything else mention
