What do you wash your clothes in? Some people’s clothes just always smell fresh and clean but no matter what laundry detergent I use it the smell doesn’t last…what am I doing wrong?
Gain! I use gain odor+ liquid detergent, scent beads, fabric softener and dryer sheets. Amazing smell even weeks after washing. I love love love this combo!
The moonlight breeze is also amazing. I can do my laundry, hang my clothes and if I wear something that was washed weeks ago it still smells fresh right out of the wash.
People often ask us what scent we are wearing and I tell them it is our laundry detergent We use Tide Plus Ultra Oxy with Odor Eliminators (pods) And we use the Snuggle Super Fresh Original dryer sheets! Smells amazing!
Scent beads and laundry capsules are super strong it takes a couple washes to get the scent off the clothes
Honestly I would be careful with the scent beads they started staining the clothes I use tide oxi clean an suavitel the purple and the clothes smells so good
Make your own with a box of borax, I use 2 regular size jars of oxyclean and you can add scent beads to it. It lasts long and I’ve noticed fresher clothes forsure.
My husband is obsessed with clean smelling clothes and it is hard to please him. We use the gain scent beads, plus the original gain detergent, and follow that up by gain dryer sheets. He literally puts like 5 sheets in. It’s ridiculous. But our clothes smell fantastic and hold their scent for quite some time. (He also adds dryer sheets to his drawers to keep clean clothes smelling clean.)
I add a cup of vinegar to each load of laundry and clean my machine once a month ( we have large family so daily laundry )
Gain and vinegar. No more fabric softener. My clothes smell noticeably better
I add a bit of vinegar into the liquid softner container with every wash and use the arm and hammer clean fresh and it makes my clothes smell fresh for a long time. I don’t use beads or dryer sheets as those can build more residue on clothes and in the washer.
Diva wash. It’s a little expensive but it smells so good !
I run a short cycle once a week with vinegar to clean my washer. I also wash my clothes separate from my husband’s. I put a little bit of Sweet Grace laundry detergent in my wash along with the detergent. I use Tide for my husband and Persil for myself.
Alright. Don’t laugh. I run through a plain cycle once. Then… Arm and hammer with the odor blasters & The beads. Then during softener cycle I add more beads and softner. I hang mine outside. But I get them in right when they are dry. I don’t leave them out there. My family grabs clothes out thier drawers and smell so good. I do alot of laundry so tide is too expensive. But when I can tide oxy. Same way.
I personally use gain detergent & gain softener & gain dryer sheets
(Either the spring time scent or the purple moonlight )
& I add downy unstoppable scent beads in washer!
“All” baby detergent, if you want high end but to smell absolutely amazing, Diva Wash.
I use tide unscented with Tyler candle company wash-diva scent. One gallon lasts about 6 months and people always want to know what perfume I’m wearing… I don’t wear any, it’s the laundry detergent.
We use a Free and Clear Detergent mixed with some Mavwicks detergent which smells sooooooo GOOD. It’s essential oils based and the Volcanic one is my FAVORITE right now!
Tide 100٪ yes, it is more expensive but it works better. Ypu can always add baking soda though it will help.
I use tide pods fresh meadow 1 pod, and some downy scent beads. My boyfriend works on a farm and it makes even the farm clothes smell good - I also wash an occasional load with some white vinegar.
I find drier sheets loose their scent fast but liquid softener holds it scent
I use suavitel complete the blue one or downy April fresh I put like 3 caps full in my loads and soap I use is gain I use the liquid or powder one but I use a lot where it has lots of suds I also double wash my clothes I get all the time at work my clothes always smell good
Gain and Gain fabric softener, my clothes smell great!
Persil with odor blast ( 2 in sports) with snuggle fabric softener and bounce pet dryer sheets. Our clothes smell so good and they get so clean, as well as staying that way for a good 2-3 weeks while put away. I have 4 kids, ages 9, 9, 8, and 5 months. I don’t have to use any stain removers either and we have 3 dogs and a cat.
I use tide, fabric softener and downy dryer sheets and it gets me the best smell that lasts so long
I use 1/2 cap of Xtra Detergent. (Different scents). Always smell good. Even after hanging in closet. I hate Tide
Try the strip method! Then run a empty cycle with vinager and then start off on smaller loads with whatever detergent and softener
Scent beads, fabric softener, and dryer sheets added to the laundry routine
I use Tide Free with a cap full of Topanga detergent. I have people stop me in stores and ask what I’m wearing.
Use less clothes and more detergent in the wash
Gain or Purex wash on hot. also wash laundry machine with nothing but vinegar and dawn large cycle
Sometimes the machine needs cleaned!
Persil laundry detergent smells sooo good
I hate Tide snd rarely use dryer sheets
Clean the washer regularly helps
Tide, downy fabric softener and the downy beads.
Tide, very little downy, vinegar and bounce. Only Tide and vinegar on towels.
Dreft Stg 2 and Snuggle Blue Sparkle. Scent lasts forever and it’s just sooo clean smelling
Arm and Hammer. Smells great. Adding a bit of Pine-sol to each load helps too.
Don’t use fabric softner.
It creates a waxy layer on your clothes, making it less absorbent and can break down certain fabrics faster. Example - Not good for towels or workout clothes. The buildup of waxy layers after each wash can essentially stop your clothes from getting clean because the buildup won’t allow water to penetrate through it, holding in the dirt and odors down the road.
It can also cause buildup in your washer and drain pipes causing mold to form more easily, which can transfer back to your clothes. Or can cause drainage issues.
And third, the chemicals can actually become an irritant to your skin or cause allergic reactions.
Gain and dryer sheets too lol
I run a oxy sanitize with odor blaster then a normal wash load for kids clothes and hubbys work clothes I do all other clothes normal with a scoop of oxy. I add sent beads and softener as well as dryer sheets all the same scent
Get gain for bounce sheets
Everything that everyone suggested is literally loaded with toxic chemicals, that’s not a good way to get your clothes to smell good. I would wash them in a Free and Clear Laundry Soap, hot water and a half a cup, to a cup of vinegar in the washer. It will break up all the crap that is in the fibers of your clothes. I would pick a dryer sheet for scent Maybe snuggle or something that’s mild. Your clothes should smell better. Loading it with fragrance is not the answer. All that junk builds up in your clothes. It’s really bad for the Fabrics and also it can mess up your Endocrine system and cause a ton of health issues. A lot of what you smell off of people is actually their hormones and their natural pheromones it’s not just fragrance.
Could just be your washing machine
Its the tide n downy combo
Persil detergent and snuggles fabric softener and snuggles dryer sheets
Gain! I use gain detergent, softer and dryer sheets
I use all gain products and use the cent beads they smell good and last for a while
Add baking soda to your load with soap.
Scent beads are soooo bad for the environment and your washer. Personally I use Gain and 3 dryer sheets. I also really liked Arm N Hammer oxyboost. It smelled really strong in a good way. But my husband doesn’t like the “cheap kind” so I don’t get it often.
I have the same problem,no matter what I use,the scent doesn’t stay, its like the dryer sucks all the smell off.Its so frustrating the amt of money I have spent on diff detergents, dryer sheets, fabric softener and, beads,.
2 cups of laundry soap add some fabric or beads I wash mine in hot water … I get complements my close smell good
Tide and gain beads the beads smell so good.
