I work full time, so weekends are for laundry. Laundry and dishes are pretty much never ending lol especially the bigger family you have

Do a couple loads a ouple days a week. If you work do a load before you go work. Have the family help with putting away. And when I was still working I NEVER waited until
the weekend to do laundry or other chores. Do as you go.

Everyday! If you wash everyday, then you won’t be overwhelmed

It kinda depends on how many people you’re doing laundry for. We have 9 in our house and I wash two loads everyday

Family of 5 and one extra kid biweekly on weekends. I do atleast 2 loads before I go to work then do 2 or 3 when I get home. Between bedding for everyone, towels and clothes my washer is very busy. Get up 530 am do load, get the kids up@6, @6:30 leave to go get teenager from work. 7:45 Drop kids off at school. Go home drop teenager off. Throw 2nd load in and still to work by 8. Get out roughly 6pm and get a load in as soon as I walk in the door. Then keep it going as I make dinner or whatever else I’ve got to do.

I do a load each day. As soon as my husband leaves for work, I put in a load to wash. By the time it’s time for me to get the kids up for school, laundry is ready to go into the dryer. Then once the kids are gone to school, I put it all away.

My 8 year old is responsible for her own and I do mine, 5 year olds and husbands on Tuesday and Saturday.

Bedding is done Wednesday and Sundays.

I do laundry almost every day but weekends (I work Thursday-Saturday 12 hour shifts). 5 people in the home and 4 pets (2 elderly that have accidents). It’s a struggle sometimes to keep it up, a lot of times it goes through the wash and dryer to sit in a basket for days on end🤷🏻‍♀️ as long as everyone has clean clothes and sheets, who cares if there’s wrinkles

Family of 5 kiddos plus me and hubs. Laundry is done Saturday and Sunday. Our 9 and 12 yr old do everyone’s laundry. That’s their only main chore. No allowance but they have their electric s like phone. Playstation TV switch

I do a load a day… sometimes 2, sometimes every other

If you keep up, it won’t be overwhelming… luckily I have a huge laundry room, with shower, dressers. Etc… clothes are pretty much in one spot… takes years off my life … we shower daily, sometimes twice… right there is a load of towels, a load of colors… I usually just throw a load in daily or more… I don’t have time to wait and do laundry on certain days

Everyday I do a load but should be 2 so on weekend I get caught up. Lol

My kids are now married with families of their own….but when we were raising kids and I worked full time and my husband drove truck and wasn’t home much….for many years, I did 3 loads a day…I put whites in and washed them before I left for work…when I came home, they went in the dryer and I washed darks and our school colors were maroon and white and my daughter played volleyball and was a cheerleader,my son played football and wrestled so most days I did a small load of school uniforms and hung them separate to dry. I also planned my meals every Sunday and knew what days there was practice, games, activities, etc. and planned accordingly….its just my husband and me now,but I still plan them! I also took about 15 min in the am before work and another 15 before bed and went room by room straightening up…I went out the door feeling better and went to bed feeling better and also when I woke up…!

If it backs up take it to a laundromat where you can run multiple washers (like 5-10) simultaneously. Then go down the row & toss the loads in dryers. By the time you fold everything from the first load in a dryer, the second will be done, and on down the line. Then you’re all caught up.

When kids were little and super messy I’d run a load overnight on delay start so it would be done just before I got up. Feed & change the baby, put him back to bed while I got dressed except for outer clothes (robe or model’s coat to take mess). Head down first thing in the morning, toss the load in the dryer, then put in another load in the washer. Fold kids’ stuff and put away as I woke them up.

By the time everyone was up & dressed and fed, I’d empty the dryer, fold anything that would show wrinkles and put the second washer load in the dryer (preferably sheets, towels, underwear, other stuff that could sit in the dryer all day), put on my outer clothes and head to day care/work. When I got home from work I’d run another load or two, then fold while watching TV after the kids were in bed and put stuff away before we went to bed. If your kids are sound sleepers you can put their stuff away in low light while they sleep.

I also have several laundry baskets so I can sort different loads. Kids vs. adults, sheets & towels vs. clothes, heavy duty stained vs. not, darks, lights & whites, or whatever works for you and makes it easier.

Once the kids are out of diapers and able to eat fairly neatly you won’t have as much, and once the kids are older they can help. Even toddlers and preschoolers can sort shirts, pants, socks, and underwear into piles; put their folded clothes in bins/drawers/shelves, and help fold washcloths, hand towels and sort big and little underwear and sometimes match socks.

And one day they’ll be old enough to do the laundry themselves. Just don’t let them do the whites with bleach until they really understand how!

I do a load of laundry a day typically in the evening, so I can add everyone’s dirty laundry from the day. I do towels and bedding on the weekend.

I do a load each day. Family of 4.
