How did you transition your 1 year old onto whole milk? She hates the taste but she will drink it if I mix two ounces of formula with two ounces of whole milk, but if I give her straight milk (warm) she spits it out and tosses her bottle. I’ve also tried the silk milk and another non dairy brand. She hates them all and I’m too excited to stop formula because it’ll save me so much money lol
Half milk half water I always did for a few days and over the week less water. Always worked for me.
Keep giving half and half for a bit and then slowly increase the milk
I mixed fruit flavored baby food into formula the last bit to act as a smoothie and then slowly started supplementing milk for formula then when I give just plain milk she’s fine
I’ve been told soy milk can cause breast cancer. I would try Almond milk thats what my granddaughter drank!
Mine loloved powdered milk
Add baby food my daughter has down syndrome and only way we could get her to take it was a month of basically smoothies
My son hated every kind of milk after I stopped pumping and giving him formula. What works best for us if I would buy him either soy vanilla or oat milk vanilla and I would mix that half-and-half with unflavored until he got full unflavored milk.
Maybe try giving her cold milk. Warm milk may taste different. She might enjoy it better cold. Idk. Good luck
I use to add little sugar
When I was transitioning my son from formula to milk I did it slowly, I’d mix the milk with the formula, he was drinking 210ml bottles at the time so I started with 150ml of formula with 60ml of normal milk and then gradually I’d up the amount of milk and take away the amount of formula working with 60ml at a time so from 60ml to 120ml of normal milk with only 90ml of formula and now he just has normal milk in a bottle. It was a long process but it worked
Try goats milk first, its closet in protein to human milk, easier to transition to whole milk.
Many years ago now but mine were on cows milk a lot earlier and preferred it cold…warm milk tastes disgusting imo
I just took the bottle and formula away. 2 of my kids did not drink milk at all and still don’t.
I started with half formula half whole milk, and slowly added less formula and more milk over time
I did half formula half milk for two weeks, then 1/4 formula 3/4 milk for two weeks then switched to milk.
1/2 and 1/2 and slowly lessen Formula.
Add maybe a spoon full of either strawberry or chocolate to cold milk. That’s the only way my child took milk
All 4 of my kids were formula fed. I transitioned all of them by slowly decreasing the formula and increasing the milk.
I would do 3/4 formula and 1/4 milk for like a week. Then I would do 1/2 formula and 1/2 milk for the next week. Then 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk for the next week and finally all milk.
If need be, buy a bottle of the premixed liquid formula. Use the formula, wash the bottle and fill it with milk. That way if she watches you, she will see you pouring “formula”.
We were told we could introduce it at 9 months so we did just a little bit in a sippy cup here and there leading up to a little more often. He will be a year next month so we’re trying to give it a bit more than formula since he’s eating lots of other things as well as formula
had daughter that did the same drank formula but would not take milk of any kind until one day I was giving my other daughter a glass of cold milk and gave it to her by mistake and she drank the lot so gave it to her again cold out of the fridge and she drank it she just did not like it boiled or warm maybe give it a try
When starting they say leave out an oz of formula add 1 oz of milk. Next time 2 oz of milk etc.
Continue to try plant based ones. Diary is awful, whole milk is for cows
You can get a canister of toddler drink that you mix with the milk. My now four year old was the same way. Hated milk. But we found it with the formula and it’s vanilla flavored. Has tons of nutrients and stuff they need in it. Her pediatrician approved it also.
Put chocolate powder in it(nestle quick)
My daughters Gi doctor told me once when we had to switch formula and she would refuse it to give a little bit of bakers vanilla in it!! Eventually my daughter got use to it without and worked!
I did half formula an half milk and then a little.less formula and then just milk
I put 1 ounce of whole milk in the bottle with formula and each week increased by 1 ounce until a 4 ounce bottle of milk can be drank
My kids only drank hemp milk once they transitioned, superior to cow milk in every way.
She doesn’t need it so don’t force it if she doesn’t like it, she can get calcium etc else where in her diet, and you can use supplements if needed. I’ve never understood why people are so determined to give human babies milk for baby cows. It makes no sense
We do Nido. But just keep giving it to her. It’s an adjustment. Add less formula each time.
My kiddo liked Nido milk powder
Around 10.5 months we started to add some to bottle. Adding more as time went. Replacing a whole bottle a day to cutting it out
I added 1 tsp or 1 tablespoon (don’t recall) each day…
You have to slowly decrease the formula to transition.
Cup and a straw that makes it chocolate or strawberry milk and cold milk. Warm milk is horrible.
Lessen amount of formula every couple of days till you get to just whole milk
Don’t. They really don’t need cow’s milk. Ensure her diet has enough variety and she’ll be fine. Wean off formula by slowly reducing servings until it can be eliminated entirely. The concept of cow’s milk as a necessary part of a healthy diet was dairy industry propaganda and never factual.
My 18 month old stopped drinking alot of milk when we switched her at 12 months, warming helped some but not alot. Her doctor said as long as she’s getting dairy from other stuff like yogurt and her pedisure it was fine. We did like 1, 4oz bottle of milk a day and 2, 4oz bottles of pedisure. We eventually found that she will drink milk but only chocolate, so that’s what we do🤷♀️
what is wrong with 2% milk.
You mix and gradually do less and less formula.
Try not warming it up. Warm milk is kinda gross.
Hemp is not weed its not a drug does not make you high
She doesn’t need milk at all
