I have taken birth control for 10 years. I have only ever gotten pregnant when I stopped them and were actually trying. The key is to take the pill around the same time everyday, I set an alarm on my phone!

Birth control is most effective when taken the same time every day regularly. So if you cant do that I wouldn’t even bother. Or at least expect a surprise eventually especially if your not using condoms.

I’ve taken it for years. Never at the same time everyday lol which is recommended but I’ve never even had a scare. I know exactly when my period comes down to the day each month and when it will stop. No side effects. I only got pregnant once I stopped taking it and I was pregnant within a month

If you take them as you’re supposed to and at the same time every day they are very effective but the less consistent you are the less consistent they become.

They were effective for me for a few years & then I got really sick back in January & messed up my meds including my birth control pills & needless to say I’m expecting my baby beginning of October.

Pills are a no for me lol that’s how I ended up with my daughter with proper usage… never missed a day or took them late… Mirena is my go to and will only ever use that from now on but that’s just me

They worked for me just remember to take it at the same time everyday

Pills are only as effective as the person is at taking them on schedule. If taken correctly they are as effective as any other contraception.

Out of all the birth control options I tried I liked the pill the best. Seemed to not have any side effects on me, but it’s a pain to remember everyday so set a timer on your phone to remember to take it everyday on time.

I got pregnant on the pill. Took it everyday at the same time. Never missed a dose and never had unprotected sex while on bc and antibiotics. I also got pregnant on the Norplant, which is suppose to be five years affective. My girls are three years apart.

As long as you take it properly it’s usually very effective depending on your body like any bc

Another option is the Nuvaring. My daughter likes it much better, She never did well with the pills.

I got pregnant on the pill, had iud for years and never did. I took it everyday at the same time religiously

Depends on the pill. I like the ones that as long as you take them everyday youre good. I totally messed up on the ones that need you to take them at the SAME time everyday. I literally cant do that. My mind is scatterbrained. I can take daily but Same time is absolutely not lol. And low dose are the ones i usually take. I never got pregnant on the daily ones as long as they werent the same day and we dont use any other form of bc. And there absolutely are pills that are fine to just take daily.

I got pregnant while on the pill :flushed:

I was on BC pills for 7 years and we did not use condoms and it was 100% effective.

Why did you have the nexplanon removed

My doctor didn’t recommend the pills to me as it usually slows your period which he said increases your chances of cervical cancer…The accuracy in that…I have no idea…

This is a question for your doctor! Not Facebook! Everyone is different we dont lnow your medical history! What works for me may be totally wrong for you!

I got pregnant with both of my kids on BC pills. 7 years apart.

I got pregnant on the pill

I got pregnant on ortho-tricyclen lo. Took it every day at the same time like clockwork, and was also using condoms. Apparently someone upstairs thought it was time for me to get pregnant.

98% so 2 out of 100 times you may be surprised folks, and that’s with all forms of chemical BC

I was on them for 12 years and had no problems. I loved being able to adjust when I was going to get my period for times like vacations but did notice if I skipped a whole month vs pushing it out a week, my pms was a lot worse for the next one.

It’s effective, but for me the side effects were awful. Starving all the time, bloated, angry. But they do what they’re supposed to do. I have an iud instead and the side effects are much less severe in comparison

I had a birth control baby, so I’d say it was ineffective for me. I took it everyday at exactly 130pm.

Luckily we wanted kids eventually, just had some other things to test first.

2 outta 3 of my kids are BC babies :woman_shrugging:t2:

Was on shot, never got preg. Got on pills, got preg. :woman_shrugging:t2: Do what you feel comfortable with.
