How long did it take you to get pregnant after the IUD?

Anyone that has had the copper IUD, how long did it take to get pregnant? Do I need to switch to the pill so it doesn’t take long? Anything else I’ve had has taken a while to conceive.

Copper IUD is non hormonal so typically shouldn’t take too long for your body to start doing its thing again once removed (there are no hormones that need time to clear your body). Definitely talk to your doctor about switching birth control methods but it wouldn’t seem like going from IUD to the pill (a hormone based birth control) would be helpful. It might actually work against your goal. Good luck

I had the mirena, so not copper and it took me 3 months, maybe a little less! Since copper IUD has no hormones I’d say you could conceive your first cycle, if that’s what’s meant to be, of course :slightly_smiling_face: best of luck!

I got pregnant within a week of getting mine out
