How long did it take you to get your period after stopping DEPO?

If anyone has taken the DEPO shot, how long did it take you to get a period after you stopped taking it? My last shot was in February and I still haven’t had one.

I was on it for several years. Took me about 8 to 9 months to start again.

8 years. I had been on it for a straight 2-3 year period

I think it was around 5-6 months for me

I was on it for 4-5 years. It was a little over a year before my period came back.

Was on it for 5 years, missed 1 shot never got my period but got pregnant.

I was on it for 2 years was due to have it December got 1st period March pregnant beginning of may this was a few years ago now

I bled the whole time I was on depo (which was literally enough for me to have 3 shots total) and it took me almost a year to get lined back out. I also had a miscarriage while on it. I also gained like 85ish pounds and it seemed much harder to lose.

I was on it 3yrs, went off it, no cycle for 6 months. They put me on meds to jump start my cycle.

I was on it for 2-3 years. Stopped taking it January 2022. Got my period in April this year and it didn’t stop for 2 months

Normal range can be all the way up to 18 months.

I was on it 10 years (medical reasons) I still haven’t had one.

Mine didn’t come back. I stopped it in march and ended up pregnant the NEXT year in April without one period in between

5 months-was on it for a year and a half

I was on it for about 4 or 5 years, as soon as I stopped getting the shot when I was due, I got it like 5 days later.

I used it to manage pain that was likely from endometriosis, as soon as I was due for my shot, within a 5 day period, I was either bleeding or in so much pain that I made sure I got in for it as early as they would let me.

I stopped using it entirely after I gained 100lbs. I was back on a completely regular cycle within 3 months. spending 2 hours a day at the gym, counting calories, and dieting wouldn’t help. I ended up having bariatric surgery to lose the weight.

I always got my period the day the 3 months was up. Also let it lapse twice for 7 weeks and both times ended up 5 weeks pregnant.

I was on depo for 8 years. Even though your not supposed to have it for more then 2 years at a time my doctor never said anything until I started doing research about it. But I pulled myself off of it fast and it took a little over a year for my first period and 6 months for it to regulate cause I would then be on my period for 2 months straight but now I only have it for a week!

Could depend on how long you were on Depo

I only had one depo shot and had my period every day for 3 months. So everyone is different. You should probably ask your doctor.

I didnt get a period. I got pregnant

One whole year ugh it was so not worth it

You get the vaccine? That can cause it to go poof as well. I started early menopause with mine and it returned months later. I know several people where it causes issues with it.

that’s the absolute worst birth control imo.

Way back when I took it, it was a little over a year before I got a period… But then it also took like another 3 years after I stopped taking it to get pregnant.

I got the depo shot and bled for a year straight, I feel a little jipped  everyone else got their periods taken away?? Lol

I was on depo for 3 years and it took me 4 months to get a period and 3 more years for my hormones to balance out correctly

First time about 12 months,2nd time 3 months

I remember it took me a long time to get it back but my first period was like 3 weeks long

Stopped mine after 3 years and got a period 2 years later

Was on it for 11 years. First period in one month and got pregnant within 6 months. Different for everyone.

It can take up to a year.

I got pregnant three weeks after stopping the depo from terrible side effects, I was on it for three years. I was waiting to get my tubes tied when I found out I was 18 weeks pregnant :woman_facepalming::smile::rofl: she’s the absolute greatest little person ever though

My last shot was in October 2022. I’ve had a little break thru bleeding twice that I barely need a pantyliner for that lasted not even two days.

6 months and 1 year before it became regular

Within a couple weeks and was pregnant in exactly 3 months. This was after taking it for 2 years.

I am still irregular 8 years later.

After my daughter I got the depo n got it for while afterwards took like two years to get a period didn’t get pregnant with my second till she was 5yrs old she was 6 by time he was born.

I was on it like 5 years No period. Then bam period for almost 2 years straight. Till doc pulled me off it. Was like a year before it was a normal period on the ring BC and I ended up pregnant on it.
