How long does it take for a lead test to come back?

My son got a lead and iron test done yesterday, we haven’t received the results back. How long do they take to come back? Wic is on my case and paused my sons benefits until I get the results back…

I used to work in pediatric office- we did the tests in the office and had results within minutes. If low iron or high lead result- sent the child for laboratory draw. Next day results! NYS

my son has lead poisoning and we are tested every 3 months usually takes about 48 hrs to come back. his levels rock between 3 and 11… however we never had any issues with wic pausing our benefits cause of it. they also test his iron right at wic so we get it back in seconds

My kids always had the test done by wic and it was almost immediately.

In my state the WIC office will do the test themselves on mom and kiddos.

Less than 24hrs and I had my kids results in their online charts

Usually a day or two, or even a few days.

Whoever did the test should have told you how long until the results are back. There’s no way for us to know.

I was told that you only get notified if they test positive, I believe!
