He has his 2 year appointment coming up but need some ideas. So norovirus did hit our home. oldest started school didn’t make it 2 weeks before the germs took over. anyways, both have been fine aside from diarrhea. no fevers, no change in appetite or fluid consumption. still relatively happy. my youngest has been throwing up. randomly once a day will just throw up everything he has consumed. this has been going on for over a week. i did take him to the ER because i was concerned. they prescribed anti nausea. idk if could be a more concerning issue. Acid reflux and GERD is in my family. honestly don’t know how long norovirus takes to go away if it might just be that.i’m losing my mind
I work in a Group Home and it went through for both individuals and staff. Cleared up in a week by the time it went through everyone with 48-72 hours of symptoms. Good hand washing and wiping the toilets after every use and wiping down the kitchen surfaces regularly.
Take all the plastic toys and put them outside in a bucket of hot soapy water and scrub them and leave them in the sun to dry.
Decontaminate everything in the house with Lysol or bleach wipes (doors, counters, any surfaces touched by kids and adults, etc)
Wash all bedding and stuffed animals in hot HOT water and dry on high heat.
Add a little bit of electrolytes to their water to help replace whatever they’re losing from diarrhea and puking.
It’s not normal for kids to just ‘throw up daily’ so there is something going on. Might be GERD or a nasty strain of norovirus.
Good luck mama
