How many boxes of pizza for a family of 8?

How many boxes of pizza do you buy for a family of 8? 2 adults , 1 teen, and 5 children. I always buy 4 large boxes but my husband always buy 1 box. I told him that he needs to buy more because 1 box of pizza isn’t going to feed the family.

Why is this even a discussion. 1 box of pizza isn’t feeding a family of 8. Your husband sounds cheap. I guess the kids would be eating and he would be going without

I do 2 boxes for a family of 5. Two adults and 3 children. 4 is a good number for a family of 8 in my opinion. If not 4 then 3 atleast

:joy::joy: I buy 5 for my family of 5. Granted we always have some left over but I’d rather have too much than not enough

There are 4 of us 2 adults and 2 elementary aged kids.

It depends on where from we have a local pizza place that has huge slices we get one x large there and have Leftovers

Like dominos or pizza hut we get 2 or 3 depending on if we want Leftovers

I do one to two boxes for a family of 3 depending on the size, so for a family of 8 I would order at least 3-4 pizzas depending on how much everyone eats and the size

Get half sheet. If you have an air fryer it tastes just as fresh the next day. Or go with one large and one medium.

Dominoes has the 2 or more for 6.99 each, we usually get 2 pizzas and some kind of bread. There’s 4 of us. Two adults and two kids. I’d say 4 pizzas for 8 people is fair.

I would buy 2 … 2 slices a person is enough especially if you buy like chicken wings or something else with it

We did 4 large for a family of 7. It also depends on how they slice them. Our larges were usually sliced into 12…we had leftovers.

common sense. One pizza is 8 slices (large). So if your husband thinks each person in the family should have only one slice, let him knock himself out. Normal people have two or three slices. Kids maybe one or two. That would be at minimum 3 pizzas

My 7 year old “who wears a size 5t jeans” he can eat half a large pizza by himself. he’s the skinniest kid in his class but eats the most. I buy 3-4 large pizzas for the 7 of us

My husband eats one Box by himself and my son eats like 5 slices by himself. ain’t no way that’ll work.
:no_good_woman:t3:

4 or 5 depending on how many good eaters you have. For a family of 3 sometimes 4 or 5 depending if there’s extra kids (friends of my sons) I do 2 large or 2 jumbo pizzas and ask that they be cut into squares. 1 large cheesestix with extra dipping sauces too :joy:

1 box is 1 slice per person. wtf is he thinking? My husband, plus 3 children, get 2 boxes

Depends on if we get anything else with it. Just pizza probably 5 maybe 6. If something like salad, breadsticks, or wings with it probably 4.

For sure more than one. What is he thinking. 4 is a good choice. Kids love there pizza

I usually do 3-4 for 5 of us. And that includes 3 teenage boys, who can each eat a pizza on their own. :joy::joy:

3 large or extra large. Usually cut into 8 slices. That’s 3 slices each, or depending on ages of children 2 for them and the extras for the teen. I do usually serve it with salad.

your husband buys 1 box of pizza for a family of 8 ? … I would be telling him to make himself a sandwich or something :grimacing:

We do 3 for a family of 5. Usually only a slice or 2 left.

With a family of 5, 2 pizzas fill us up.

id order 3 or 4 personally.

Family of 6 here. 2 adults 2 teens 2 toddler ish aged. We always get 3 large and we usually have left overs so I would say for a family that size 4

No one needs more than half a pizza. So know more then 4 but damn 1 thats insane.

I would do 2 at the absolute least. 1 is crazy. I’d most likely do 3 or 4 though

Minimum… 2 extra large !!! I would pick 3 of their favorite toppings and order 4 large or extra large.

I am family of 7 ,I buy 4 pizza then left over be school lunch.

4 boxes would be good for you guys

4 or 5 depending on how big they are and how much everyone eats

Three children don’t need muvh.

2 adults and 2 teens here…we usually do 3 with a salad of some sort

8 plus sides with left overs but it’s a deal so times 2
We have 7 kids and 2 adults

We are a family of 7. We get 4. When we lived at my mums place there were 18 in total full time and when it was visitation weekend for some of the grand kids it was 24 in total and I would buy 15 pizzas dinner and lunch was generally covered as there was always leftovers

Lmao me and my husband eat 1 box of pizza together… for 8 you definitely need 4

My 6 year old has a box to himself. So 8 boxes of pizza for 8 of you lol :joy: left overs are always good for lunch the next day too

1 box would be a snack not a meal. Definitely not enough. Depending on how much everyone eats id say between 4-6 boxes.

We do 2 16 inch pizza for family of 7

2 adults 5 kids all good eaters

We get 1 large pizza for 2 adults & 3 kids with a side of chicken strips & chips.

Family 5 and I’d buy 2 large pizzas and some is always left over we would only eat about 3 slices each hubby maybe 4

2 pizzas for 4 adults and 2 kids

I have a family of 5 and i always get at least 2, if i want to make sure theres enough left overs for snacks/lunch for the next day, I’ll buy 3. We have one teen girl, pre teen boy, and a 7 year old and than myself and my husband. To be fair, we are lucky if the 7 year old even eats a full piece lol. But ya. One pizza for just the five of us wouldn’t work, i cant imagine sharing one with 8! U usually only get like 10 to 12 pieces (depending on the cut and where u go) thats not even enough for everyone to have a second piece! I make sure that everyone can have at least a couple pieces. I cant have leftovers that doesn’t have enough for everyone

3 that gives 3 slices each

My 15 teen eats large pizza alone lol so between 3 adults and and 1 teens I buy 3 pizzas

I guess that would entirely depend on what size pizza

Wow 1 box! at my house that would feed my son  the other six of us would starve lol we buy 4 or 5 boxes and it lasts everyone

Depends on how much they eat.

If the average is 2 slices per person, you need 16 slices of pizza which is 2 whole pizzas

Tell him one pizza = 1 slice only

If he can be full on that, good for him. Otherwise he needs to buy more.

We have a family of 7. 2 adults, an almost 13yo, 9 1/2 yo, 7 1/2 yo, 5yo and 2 1/2 year old. If it’s cut in traditional triangles, at least 3! We like a little left over too lol

The easiest way to determine this for your family is to note how many slices are left of the 4 pizzas you bought. If they don’t total a full pizza you’ve got it right.

Normally a pizza only has 8 slices, so your husband wants everyone to only have 1 slice? Lol. We buy 2 larges for my family of 3, however we normally always have some sort of leftover whether it be 1 slice or 6.

2 adults, 2 teens, 5yo and 4yo
Small for mom, large for dad, large for each of the teens, large for the babies to share.

Family of 7, we can get away with 2 large but 3 is better lol.

I think 3 and you’d probably have leftovers

Get a sheet pizza and get 1/2 one pizza 1/2 another

I used the 1/2 pizza for adults/teenagers. 1/3 for those with smaller appetites/younger kiddos. 4 large pizzas is what I would buy.

3-4 large ones, or 2 extra large ones. Lmfaoo one? Did he expect everyone to eat just one small slice and call it a day? Your husband is a cheapo!
