How many Christmas gifts do you buy per kid?
3, one thing they need, one want, and something constructive for them to do.
No set number, I think I have 12ish each this year.
One thing to wear, one thing to read, one thing they want, and one thing they need.
No set number. Plus, my daughterās birthday is on Christmas Eve
Each child has a budgeted spending amount.
We donāt do a set number of gifts, we do a set dollar value per kid.
Not the same per kid. Just same amount spent on each kid. If the 16 yr old wants a $200 gift the youngest gets gifts up to $200. Always spend same exact per kiddo.
We donāt set a number. We have a set spending limit that is spent on each (7 kids to buy for).
Something thry want,
Something they need.
Something they wear,
Something they read.
No set number or limit. I just get my girls the samething really! Their only 2 years apart! If I happen to find an extra toy for one, then Iāll just grab another for the other!
- One they want, they need and 1 educative like coloring books or books to read
4: something you need, something you want, something you read, something you wear
We usually set a price limit and just go with it once we get to the store. We try to get both kids the same amount tho. 14 and 9.
4
Something you want
Something you need
Something to wear
Something to read
3-5 depending on what is on the list. Bigger or more expensive items means less gifts. Try to spend about the same amount per kid. 4 kidsā¦ 5-15 yrs old
I just buy even number of gifts one big and the rest around the 20-30 dollar mark. End up with about 10-12 eachā¦also their birthdays are dec jan and feb this year i feel like I have done about the same for Xmas and birthday atleast for my December baby.
My kids are young enough and close enough in age where we do one big combined gift and then one or two things of their own.
We do a set spending limit. So if one kids wants $200 whatever. Another kid could get 200 $1 toys ( not that we do that but the point is)
A stocking and then 3 gifts.
Iāve found many go by the rule of 4. One you want, one you need. One you wear and one you read.
My 2 older kids get 6 and my youngest get 10 gifts ,my 2 oldest kids are in there 20ās and my youngest is 12 year old
We dont have a limit. We just get each kid the same number of gifts. If one kid gets 10 gifts, all 3 get 10 gifts. But mine are younger so they dont really know about dollar amounts yet.
When they were little I got them one nice things and about $10 from the dollar store, plus one gift from Santa, and the stocking. Even when making good money I did not want Christmas to be about gifts.
I usually do one big one each and 4-5 smaller ones. This year my kids (16/14) grades went down so I only bought a pair of shoes and 5 shirts each. Except the 4 year old. I get 8 small gifts (barbies/dolls). I could wrap a banana! She just likes to open gifts.
We just set a price limit and buy what we can with that. $400 for one kid and $400 for the other as an example. No actual limit on the amount of gifts.
I have three kids and I just get everything on their list This year was hard because they didnāt know what they wanted so I did price matches for each kid on everything I decided to get them.
we but 1 big present for my son. and then a few stocking stufferes (toothbrush/toothpaste , weāve done deodorant, a few candies). and 1 Santa present. and then thatās it
he has so many family members.
his birthday is also 2 weeks before Xmas so we buy another big one for that as well
We donāt have a set amount we only have 1 kid to buy for this year, but Iād imagine we would spend around the same amount of money on each kid each year
I do little gifts but I donāt have a certain number, I keep a list of stuff sheās said she likes all year longā¦but I also like giving experiences. Iāve gotten my daughter a trip to Memphis to go to Graceland, season tickets to Dollywood, last year it was a cruise. Last year was her last year believing in Santa but before we would always do gifts from everyone and then an unwrapped gift from Santa left under the tree
We spend the same amount on both of our children. So they usually end up with around 9-15 presents plus a stocking each year.
We donāt set an amount every year. I just make sure each child gets the same number of things.
I donāt do the same amount of gifts because the price difference, we spend the same amount per kid
Me i went by a set $$ amountā¦ If 1 wants a xbox and the other wants games well the games will have more giftsā¦but now mine are grown i do things like razor sets.clothes.socks etcā¦ And maybe a special Giftā¦
I have four kids we do 150- 200 each kid so amount gifts depends on what gifts we get them. Then there is the big gift for the whole family.
It depends on our funds but we generally do $50-100 per kid (3) and then a few gifts from Santa
I just shop. My bigs 12 and 10 have about 11 gifts eachā¦my little 3 has about 15ā¦then they each have a HUGE bag of clothes. And a stocking. Aside from the clothes, no gift is over 20 bucks.
I dont keep track of the number of presentsā¦ but I do try to spend around the same amount per child
I buy a bunch of stuff on black Friday then the things they asked for specific then I count how many each kid has and work to even it out. Santa does about 10-15 gifts from each pending how many there are and Santa gift areas (they get a spot in the livingroom with their stocking) look to be about the same size
Whatever I end up giving. I shop all year. I never buy much after Halloween. Thatās when stores raise prices.
Around 4 gifts each . We have 4 kids under 7. We dont count the amount of money spent on each.
1)Something they want 2) something they need 3) clothing 4) a book 5) stocking
I just try to make sure it looks decent but I donāt actually count how many gifts. I do try to keep it even but my youngest isnāt even 2 yet soā¦
We donāt do a set number we just spend about the same per kid. I tend to go way overboard though. I buy throughout the year and buy what I find on clearance. At the moment my 18 month old has about 15 gifts, my 5 yr old has prob 30 ( not all large gifts sheās getting quite a few surprise toys like hatchimals and blume dolls), and my 9 year old had about 13. And I spend around. $200-$250 per kid.
My kids are getting 5 gifts each this year.
I just shop right now, they are all relatively young so Iām sure once they start getting older, they will have a set amount
Like around 3 per kid
My almost toddler got stuff he can play with for away
We set a limit and I found stuff on sale and grabed stuff for months
Growing up with was the same amount spent on each of us. Since my mother was a single parent raising 7 kids, she made sure she spent the same on each of us getting what we wanted most then odds and ends she thought we would need. She made sure we had the same because of the cost of some gifts over others makes you get less gifts so she worked it out so we had around the same amount of gifts for the same amount of money.
1 ābigā gift each 3-4 small gifts each and the rest is clothes or other things they need.
I try to get at least 4 per child if I can. It just depends on how much everything costs. Iām a single parent household and times are rough
Minimum 7 gifts each we do a weird set up complete with a spread sheet on XLš but everyone gets a gift to: from: everyone the younger kids who still believe get a couple extra āSantaā gifts and depending on the year everyone gets a ābig giftā
I spend an equal amount on each.
What about daughter/son in laws? We have 5 grandkids (13-1) 2 kids (32 & 22) & their spouses. We try to spend the same amount on our grandkids but oldest being 13 & youngest being 1 itās hard. Then same amount on our kids then a little less on daughter/son in-law.
We set a cash limit for our son. (Only child) -$100 this year since he is only 2ā¦
My niece i always buy the same number of giftsā¦ try to stick pretty close to the price range
We donāt do a set number of gifts but spend the same amount per kid.
They each get a want (toy or something else theyāve requested), a need (clothes or a gift card for later down the road), & a read. I also throw in a new set of Christmas jammies for each because theyāre always on sale and cute. I have 5 kids so even this is a challenge financially sometimes.
I usually go by money. I try to spend the exact same on both kids. So one might get a more expensive gift but the other might have more gifts
I dont do a number really. I do an amount. Usually 150ish per kid. I try to make sure itās not super far apart in number though. My daughter right now has 7 gifts my son has 5.
I used to buy one big gift per kid slways small items. Stocking stuff too. Pjs. Sox , underwear even.
This year each kid is getting 6 gifts.
Oh no I read everyone elseās and I may get slammed but the kids get like 17 or 18 a peice every year and a stocking plus what family bring
Donāt really keep track. Have 3 boys (1,3,&5) We buy them each some things they need, things they want, then they each get one ābigā gift.
I keep it to three now that there are grandkids and son in laws - but as a parent I did my best to make sure they got a bit moreā- due to lack of much family they didnāt get a lot , and I wanted them to feel as if they did
Our daughter gets 4. A want, need, read, and wear. And then 1 gift from Santa. We have a large family, so she also gets gifts from aunts, uncle, and 4 sets of grandparents.
We just kinda buy around same price range and make sure they all have the same amount of gifts.
These comments are making me uncomfortable. ive got 10 gifts for my daughter already and Iām still not done. Thatās not Including gifts from family, to her as wellā:sob:
I might get crap for this but oh wellā¦As many as I can afford! My presents as a kid almost filled half the room. I think my daughter will have well over 20 presents this year while sheās still young because each toy/clothing is cheap (nothing like having a teenager wanting an Xbox or cell phone haha) so while I can Iāll spoil her!! I donāt set a number but I start early and spend a few hundred and her grandparents and godparents buy her many items as well. We kinda go all out she will haveā¦well a lot
we dont do how many we set a cap for price limit
I like to buy 3 gifts.
Mommy buys a gift, daddy buys another and then we choose one together (usually something they need like socks or a sweater)
We try to follow this guideline.
We try to keep it around the same $ amount per kid, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnāt.
Kids are 19, 14, 14, 11, 8 and 7.
I think everyone needs to do what they think is best for their kids, and not worry about what other parents choose to do with their children. Itās really simple.
$50 dollar budget then new p.js and one new outfit and thatās it
I have about 8 for my oldest witch is 2 and my youngest has 7 who is 1 Iām still shopping Iāll prolly spend 130$ more dollars
My step daughter is getting a bit less this year even though so this is her last year as a only child ( sheās 10 and is beginning to get hqrd to get things for) We have a baby due in February so we had to let her know we have to scale back on everything. Last year she got maybe 15 this year itāll be 7 to 10. Luckily we have a awesome kiddo and she says her real present is her baby brother.
We spend the same amount on them, giving about $10 wiggle room just in case.
5 or 6 but I have 3 kids My teen is only getting 3 because one of her gifts was a laptop and she just got a Switch for her bday in November. As your kids get older and become teens youāll find you buy less yet spend MORE
My son already has too much stuff, i got him 2 prezzies, one from us and one from his uncle (was birthday party money) he doesnāt play with every thing, and it is a waste of money. Anyone who asks what can they buy, i suggest a deposit into his account for the future. I dont care about the amount as it is a gift. He is only 2 now.
I spend the same amount on all 4 of my kids some get more gifts then the others.
When my kids were little I always went overboard! But with the grandkids, we do three because thatās how many baby Jesus got from the wise men.
Well I completely go overboard. My 6yo has around 20 presents, her main present being around 180Ā£, I donāt keep count how much I spend, I just get everything on her list , itās Christmas!!
My kids NEVER cared how much something cost but give one kid that one less gift and kiss the happy Christmas good-byeš
I have two kids and I buy the same amount of presents for each and try to keep the the budget the same amount for each (like if one present is 20 then I get the other a 20$ present, and so on.) but thatās while my kids are little (3&1) and they donāt ask for anything specific. I asked my 3 year old and he said presents
None with the cost of living after tax is taken
Depends what I can afford. Sometimes getting them a need like winter items is all I can get. Toy wise if I can I try to get 1 or 2 things for them. I get overjoyed when I can afford at least 1 item they really wanted or asked for.
My 4yr old is finally old enough, maybe not to tell me what he wants(his speech is delayed and usually all I get is āLots of toys!ā From him) but I brought out the Walmart book and he put a star next to each gift and he was VERY specific on which ones he wanted. I think he picked like 10 out of the whole book. So heās getting what he asked for. They werenāt crazy expensive.
One big gift( 4 small gifts nothin over 20 dollars for small gifts.) Plus I do stocking stuffers I put a 10 dollar gift card candy and a couple of dollar items.
We spend $100 for each kid. So we donāt go by a certain amount of gifts. Itās whatever we buy with that amount of money.
I spend the same per child. We tell them santa charges us so they only get Ā£50 each. The number doesnt matter the price does. We have 7 children added up its 350 spent which is 1/4 of a months wage for us I think thatās more than enough to waste on toys theyāll be bored of in 6 months
I have four kids who r 16,14,10 & 4 and I spend between Ā£200 & Ā£250 each on mine at Xmas but all there birthdays fall in October November December and January also x
I have 3 sons and they had a budget of 20.00 to buy each other something when they were primary school age. My husband and I would buy them each a gift from him and I. I only brought for our house and no one else because Xmas is expensive. My mum and dad I would buy something that they really needed, clothing. As my kids got to be high school students we would buy something more expensive that they really needed just one gift.
I spend the same amount per kid. They know some things cost more
Iāve 5kids. I start early. They have a santa present then biggish present from me few cheap bits. This yr is about 6 each
Iāve got my kids some stuff to share then I just get them load of other things, toys clothes etc. Donāt really set a spending limit on it. I try and get them the same amount of presents or spend around the same on them. Wouldnāt just get them like 4 presents they get a good stack off us plus family on top of that as well.
I have a 2.5 year old and a 2 month oldā¦
Iāve gone completely overboard this year because moving forward Iāll start limiting.
I started early in the year, and have done it so they have the same amount to āunwrapāā¦ my kids are still so young so what the heck
No set limit in my house on gifts or cost. I start in May. I find things they will love, make sure they have an even amount to open and enjoy their little faces on Christmas morning
I have one boy. And so far weāve bought maybe $100 in presents
My kids get 1 big present - scooter, bike or something like that, a toy, stationary set, a Christmas outfit, full stocking of little thingsā¦ like chocolates, lollies & a santa present each !
I spend about $250 per kid and I try to have the same amount of gifts per kids. So sometimes that involves wrapping 2 books together or separating an outfit into two gifts so that it matches the number that the other kids got.
