Moms that started pumping at 37 weeks: how long and how many times a day did you do it? I’ve already gotten approval from my doctor
I did to harvest colostrum. And I’m glad I did because my baby had a hard time latching the first 3 days and having that colostrum saved up definitely helped. I did 3 times a day for about 10 mins until baby was born.
The only reason Milk was coming out of me at 37 weeks is because my daughter was born at 37 weeks. Let your body relax right now because once that baby comes all you do is feed it, change their diapers and put them to sleep. Enjoy your sleep while you have it Mama and don’t stress
I pumped for 5 minutes every night from 37 weeks onwards in both pregnancies, and babies were born at 41 and 42 weeks. It’s not for everyone, and lots of people do advise against it, but I was left with a store of colostrum that I syringed and used both in the newborn days for extra nutrients and to add to foods when weaning at 5 months.
The main benefits I would say is that it hardens your nipples and I had no pain at all when establishing breastfeeding, which is the reason many people do stop. It also reduces the pain of engorgement on day 3, because your body is already used to the pump.
I fed my first for 16 months and my second is now 4 days old, and it worked for me! Good luck
not sure why you would, milk production is stimulated by hormones after birth and the first milk is really important for the newborn. Is there a reason you want to pump before baby is born?
I started at 38 weeks. I did it about every 3 hours. To start labor.
Youre not supposed to unless you’ve given birth!
Never pumped with any of my four pregnancies.
It can actually throw you into early labor.
I wouldn’t stress yourself out over saving milk.
Your body will make enough and its no joke once your supply kicks in.
I thought babies needed colostrum in the very beginning? I don’t understand pumping before baby.
You aren’t suppose to pump while pregnant!!
As far as I knew you’re not supposed to pump during pregnancy because of it sending you into labor
