How often do you clean your kids toys?

How often does everyone wipe down their kids toys? I try to do it every 2 weeks (let’s face it sometimes after a long week, you don’t feel like doing anything.) but also anytime another cousin/friend of his comes over- definitely that day too. So how about you? and what do you use for the toys?

I never sanitized his toys and he has turned out perfectly fine and he’s 14 now.

Listen, I will scrub the bathroom and kitchen. I will wash laundry for me and the 4 kids, fold it and put it away. I will cook, pack lunches and grocery shop. I will vacuum and wash floors. I will dust.
I will NOT wash toys unless they are contaminated with toxic waste.
You don’t judge me.

I never wiped them down unless they’re really visibly dirty. And my kids rarely get sick

Never cleaned there toys unless they got something on them or they got real dirty when they played with them outside. When I did clean them I would just throw them in the tub with some dawn dish soap and clean them that way. Stuffed animals got thrown in the wash on the gentle cycle and put in dryer on low heat.

Unless they’re visibly filthy, I have never cleaned either of my kids toys. :woman_shrugging: one has made it to 12 years and the other is 2.5.

I only clean the bath toys like every 2 weeks. Other toys are if they get dirty or if we are extremely sick…I used to think I’d want to do it weekly but it’s really pointless

If there’s other kids around I try to disinfect them after they leave just in case sometimes the most common things he plays with I like to wipe down just to keep it cleaner and if I had something that he hasn’t played with in a while and I’m bringing it back out then I usually wash it off just to make sure that it’s clean disinfectant stuff I do during cold and flu season for sure but I really only have to do that once in awhile I don’t really just really do it like once a week or anything and my kids don’t get sick often

When I had my daycare Friday afternoon was water play put the water table in the kitchen and the kids had a ball was the toys put them aside to dry when kitchen left i spray them with Lysol left them over the weekend and Monday the kids help to put them away so at home I would put them in the bathtub or kitchen sink and let the kids have fun

I did it every day especially if kids were over. Now it’s only 2 a week or when I’m cleaning around the house. It’s really impossible to clean every bit, germs are good for our kids

Two wild boys and I’ve never cleaned their toys lol. Unless the toys or surfaces are food ridden, there was no need. Both kids rarely get sick. I mean rarely. My oldest went 12 years without catching a cold. Their immune systems are extremely high, probably because I exposed them to almost everything hahaha everything that can’t harm them. Haha

I spray dettol antibacterial over them at night time most evenings, by morning it’s dry.
If any plastic toys are very dirty, then they’ll go in the dishwasher or get wiped with antibac wipes.
All plush toys get regular washes in the machine.

I don’t unless they really get dirty or she’s sick. When I take her bedding to wash I lysol her room. Bed floor curtains everything

I did about once a week I filled bathtub up little bleach

I don’t unless he does something to them. Like today I cleaned his kitchen set because he broke an egg the the attached coffee maker.

Cant say I ever did unless they got food on them then it was a quick wipe with a damp cloth. Both are adults now and very rarely ill

Anyone else come to the comments just to see if people actually clean there kids toys down?

Are we supposed to?? :thinking::speak_no_evil::grimacing:

Never …unless they were dirty…my kids were hardly sick …

I don’t. With infant/baby teething stuff I would boil. He’s 3 now and I don’t clean his stuff unless it’s visibly dirty.

When it was visably dirty or fell in something nasty or something lol.

I never do. Only if something is spilled on one or it’s visibly dirty

I don’t bother with it to be honest unless they’re visibly dirty.

Unless it’s visably dirty or kids are sick I don’t really worry about it. Germs build immunity :+1:

Unless the toys are dirty I have never cleaned his toys… I’ll spray disinfectant spray on his toys when he’s really sick but that’s about it.
