I’m trying to decide what type of doctor to call my gyn or psych. My hormones are very unbalanced right now and for two weeks per month I’m so irritable and depressed I can’t even stand to be with myself. I unexpectedly anger for no reason or burst into tears. The other two weeks I’m completly fine. Who should I see first

I would talk to your doctor first. If you taking any type of medication or birth control pills it may be a side effect.

After my gyn got my hormones straightened out (pcos) I had no need for a psych doctor. It’s crazy how much hormones really effect your mental and physical wellbeing. I hope you get it all figured out!

Talk to Dr first then go from there
PMDD, your obgyn will help, mine did
Primary Care Dr.They can draw hormone levels and get you started on hormone replacement. And they would need to know of any med changes anyway.
Talk to your doctor. Try CBD oils.

The gyn. They can check your hormone levels. Tell them your suspions, your behavior, cravings, why you feel like you do.
Mommy’s bliss gripe water
I am going through the same thing, I see both regularly the psych dr prescribed me meds ; the same treatment for depression and extreme pms It’s called pmdd Zoloft is what I take
Call your OB for a referral .
Endocrinologist…my OB/GYN said I was fine
If you see your GYN first, she will be able to point you in the right direction if she thinks you need a psychiatrist…so I would start there.
Soy raises your estrogen.

It’s a good balance. If that doesn’t work go to your doctor
I can’t spell way. Wh EA
And tons of calcium magnesium and vitamin C. Less side effects than drugs. But that doesn’t work I say go to the doctor. Valerian root works too. And is safe to use nursing

Did you have your tubes tied?
If you’re concerned, start with your gyno. If you have some kind of hormonal imbalance, they’ll be the ones that can help out. If theres nothing wrong, get a hold of a therapist so you can talk about the possibility of meds to help stabilize you.
Female Dr.
I get like that too but I also get so tired I literally can’t get out of bed.
Let them check your hormones and vitamin levels.
Then see your psych Dr. They can help you work on how to deal with the issues you’re having.
Go see your OB; it’s possible you might have postpartum…doesn’t hurt to talk to the them first.
Ask about your thyroid levels
Check this list off first…
- Are you getting enough sleep?
- Exercise? At least 30 minutes of cardio a day
- What have you been eating? A balanced diet of protien, veggies/fruits and carbs?
- You may have a magnesium deficiency. We use Calm from Natural Vitality (https://www.naturalvitality.com/)
- Maca Powder is great for helping with hormone health and balance.
- Are you going outdoors and spending time in the sunshine and other elements?
Overall health will help with your symptoms. If your doctor doesn’t start with these suggestions and jumps to writing a prescription, you have to question them. Talk therapy will also help. Start with a close circle of friends or at a women’s group at your church. If you believe that you need additional help, seek out a professional.
Good luck! Many of us have been there.
Are you pregnant is that why your thinking of your ob? Talk to your primary care physician first- they can refer you somewhere or prescribe something.
I would say your Primary Care Physician. Get your hormone levels tested. Then she can refer you to whomever you need to see
Omg I also feel like this! I don’t know what’s wrong with me half the time I feel like crying all the time too! Need to go drs ASAP spoke with someone who said could be early start to menapause (I am 42) also my periods are way heavier & lasting longer have you experience this too?
Gynecologist. Have him/her check hormone levels. I was having terrible hormone issues, even admitted self in hospital begging for help and none. I went to new gynecologist explained everything and he got me straight. Good luck
Always see ur doctor first. They will recommend someone if they feel its necessary.
Do you have the implant?? That was literally my for 10 months with Implanon and I wasn’t alone.
I see my OB for these problems. She put me on something 2 years ago.
