Hi mamas, I’m currently 21 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and everyday I feel nervous and scared about giving birth again. I am so excited to be having another bubba, I wasn’t scared with my first because I didn’t know what to expect…I had a natural birth and was in labour for 29 hours with my first pregnancy also had a 3rd degree tear😞 Any tips on how to make labour easier ? Also how to I decrease my chances of tearing that bad again ?
Rub vasaline inside and out all around your area starting now so it can be moisturized and more likely to stretch
Well I got induced which helped make mine a lot faster with to me moderate pain. I was cut though to widen the opening, could ask the doctor about your options since you’ve had a bad experience in the past. Let me just say though that being cut is better then tearing. I’ve dealt with both. The second child is usually easier though.
Labour is usually much shorter as well .
They let you labor for 29, I thought 24 was cut off? I had 23.5 hour labor-rough!
Lots of sex helped me deliver 3 of my 4…at least once a day and use coconut oil as lube.
Relax, do a water birth, turn the lights down low, ask your love to get in the tub with you, breathe calm breaths, breathe through them, each time focusing on detaching yourself from any chaotic thoughts or feelings, relax. Listen to your body, if you want to move, move. If your ready to push, push. Ask for space and silence if you need it. Create the calmest and most relaxing atmosphere possible. If you are afraid and worried your body will send a stress response to your body saying your not in a safe environment yet to bring your baby into the world. While you are sitting in the warm tub your love can help rub your back, and you can rub the skin around the opening, which will help prep the skins elasticity
Olive oil!!! And don’t fight it just breath through it and lessen to your body
Let your baby come when they are ready. I have found induction to be a real bitch if it’s not a medical emergency and absolutely neccasary Get up and move around too. The second one is usually easier and you will know what to expect. Now the first time your big meets his new little brother, that’s the best!
