This is my sweet girl, she’s 18 months old and out of my 3 children she’s the only one that has curly hair, my husband and I do not have curly hair so we have no idea how to care for it, I’m just looking for advice on hair care for my curly haired princess.
Id suggest having a look at the curl girl method or curly girl Facebook groups. They’ve been a lot of help with suggesting care and products.
My middle child is the only child with curls and dad, so he doesn’t know what to do with long hair. When she was young we tried to just use natural products and a tiny bit of gel if necessary.
Now we use: gel, curl creams for styling, scrunch as much water out as possible and air dry (or use a cotton tee or diffuser depending on length). We don’t over wash!! She really only uses shampoo once a week after sport. And there’s no such thing as too much conditioner so stock up!!! Moisture is a big thing!! Oh and bonnet!! Makes a massive difference.
I have curly hair. When I was young my mom would put a leave in conditioner in my hair and then use a comb with thick spaced out grips to comb through my hair.
I highly recommend doing braids while it’s wet and just letting it dry that way with kids. The curls will get easily tangled while your kid is young.
