So I’m planning on calling my obgyn in the morning, but in the meantime I need some opinions. I turned 10 weeks pregnant this past Monday… Monday night / Tuesday morning a rash popped up from my waste up. It had scratched off and on all day, but really didn’t bother me enough to concern me any. When I took a shower Tuesday night it only started to get worse after I got out of the shower, it’s like the later it gets the itchier I get. I’ve tooken Benadryl and it hasnt worked and I’ve put some cream on and it hasn’t helped either. I can’t put a blanket on cause the itching gets worse when I get warmer. So I stay cold and still itches bad. I need opinions if I need to go ahead and head to the ER now or wait till in the morning when the DR office opens??
Call the after hours line at the doctor or call the er and see if you can speak to anyone
Could be the pregnancy rash PUPP.
It’s probably PUPs a pregnancy related rash. The most common one in pregnancy. I had it for about a month. The area and way you’re describing it sound very similar. It’s harmless just uncomfortable. There is no treatment safe during pregnancy so just do safe OTC things to make you comfortable.
Call your after hours doc or go to Instacare right away. It could be urgent.
Most than likely it Pupps. Normally it happens around the end of the 3rd trimester. I’m going through the same thing right now. It wakes me up all through the night. And its slowly spreading to my legs and arms. There is nothing the Drs can really do about it if it is Puppps. But I hope you dont have it this early on. I have 2 weeks left before my little is due. And I don’t think I can stand it much longer myself. The itching is damn near unbearable. Try rexall clear anti itch lotion. My ob said its safe to use.
Speak to someone on call. I had a rash but only later in my pregnancy. But it didn’t have color to it, just bumps. Mostly on my hands and feet, it was horrible. Nothing helped. No lotion or meds cured it. Hope you get help , I know how irritating it can be.
I never had this, but from what i remember being told if it’s really bad and itchy then you should go to the ER. I looked it up to refresh my memory and it’s obstetric cholestasi can be a liver condition. Best to get checked.
But just to be sure I would get it checked out as soon as possible.
Pregnancy rash, it usually doesn’t last long I think I had it for a month.
Could be shingles I had them when I was pregnant
I had this in my pregnancy the rash was so bad and the itch was horrible i would even cry cause i couldnt handle it anymore… i went to the ER and got an IV on and i dont remember really what they injected on the IV but OMG the rash and itch vanished and im so glad i went ! So please go they do wonders and you wont have to suffer with that through your whole pregnancy!
Check for choleostasis
Strep Throat can be accompanied by rash. (Scarlet Fever). At least call the doc.
Definitely could be PUPPS! I had it when I was pregnant with my son, look it up on Google, it’s due to high testosterone in boys reacting wrongly to your hormones or something, I can’t remember exactly xD
tooken yourself to the Dr
After what I went through last year I will always go to a doctor, I had a rash for like two weeks, yook benadryl, used cream it stayed the same. It was only on my chest and back, then about two weeks later I got flulike symptoms and went to the ER because they got so bad. Found out the next morning after they admitted me that I had a blood infection and my immune system was going haywire and attacking my body instead and the infection. So lesson learned I always get a doctors opinion.
Get yourself checked out , I had a pregnancy rash , not until my 3rd trimester though.
I have this currently and ice packs has been the only thing working for me
Obviously you can go to the emergency room whenever you want, but you will spend a LOT of time and money on your visit. Personally, my rule of thumb is not to go to the EMERGENCY room unless it’s for an emergency. If it’s just uncomfortable then it can wait until the doctor’s office opens in the morning. If you’re in fear for your or your baby’s life, go now.
Could be PUPP
I’d get it checked by a dr
Obgyn can’t help , u need a reg doctor , I would get seen ASAP !
It’s not cholestasis. I was super itchy early in my second trimester (like 13 weeks) and my OB said that he’s never heard of a case earlier that early. It’s doesn’t develop until late second trimester or 3rd trimester, so don’t freak out about it being that! But good luck, try taking an oatmeal bath and hopefully it’s nothing serious!
Dont go to the ER…it is for emergencies…going for a non emergency only adds to the congestion and exposes you to every sick person in there. See your GP
Check for cholestasis. I had it and I literally wanted to die. Myself and my daughter both almost died because of it.
Go to doctor ASAP! A rash during pregnancy could be completely normal and just your body reacting to all your changing hormones or could be more serious. It’s hard to tell
Ask about tinea versicolor. Everyone has yeast but sometimes we get an overload. Not saying it is but maybe check it out.
I used some aloe after sunburn stuff and it helped a lot.
I hooe you’ve managed to see your GP by now as he/she will know what to do far more than anyone else. If you know they are booked far in advance just turn up at the front desk as there will likely be a patient not turn up and you can take their spot, all the best, hope it’s nothing serious
