Does anyone have information on obtaining a POA? Do both parties have to be present to obtain one? We are wanting to get one with our parents who live in another state

poa they could do thru their doctor and keep a copy there and with you. Otherwise you can assist with documents online and submit to their doctor, yourself etc.
A lawyer can draw it up you sign with a notary certified mail send in they can sign in front of one and send it back

I became my father’s POA simply by printing the documents online, signing them and then mailing them to him. He got his signed portioned notarized before mailing it back to me.

Can be done online in most states.
Will need a notary.
Doesn’t have to be together, you just need to sign your part in front of a notary, mailed to the person so they can do he same and mailed back to you
Remember, your only POA while person is living. You also want POAAD,
I’m not really sure. You’ll have to check with an attorney. I do believe both parties have to be present to sign the paperwork. I believe the signatures need to be notarized.
Just a tip, with the poa keep a copy of both party’s IDs.

They get it and can send to you. Don’t have to be there. I wasn’t there for any of mine my husband gave while military
