How to get baby to sleep during the night and not day?

I gave birth about two weeks ago and since then my baby has had their nights and days mixed up…will this eventually work itself out? I am whooped as I also have a toddler.

Bubba will eventually work the difference out. But like comment above make night times quietish times n loud through the day. BUT always remember to ask for help if you need it NEVER feel ashamed for asking big hugs you’ve got this :purple_heart::blue_heart:

It sounds cruel but try to keep naps short during the day and wake them if necessary. Hopefully they’ll start sleeping at night instead. Mine didn’t and has always preferred being awake at night.

It’ll eventually work itself out. But you can try things like making the house calm from about 6:30 at night and really active/ bright/ noisy during the day

Sleep in the day with baby til you can get him on a schedule

Nice warm bath at night. Nice rub down with lotion and a warm bottle as much as you can get them to drink. Burp super good and keep them warm. Usally, babies take about 3 months before they sleep at night. After the 3 months add rice cearal to bottle very very thin. Make sure it’s warm and baby super dry before bed. Worked for me 43 years ago and 42. Years ago and 39 years ago. Give it a try. If you make them skip naps they become to tired and can’t sleep.

You’ve probably always heard the term “never wake a sleeping baby”. Throw that completely out the window. Wake that baby! If it’s been more than 3 hours then wake them up. 2 week old babies USUALLY have a 4-7 hour stretch of sleep every day. You’re essentially trying to move that stretch of sleep to night time. Make sure baby gets plenty of calories during the day and is eating often. I agree with the suggestion of making sure to keep the nights dark and the days bright. Don’t keep baby awake if it’s tired, but again don’t let baby sleep too long at one time. Good luck mama. The transition will happen!

Let the baby sleep when he/she sleeps. And when they are sleeping try to take care of or spend some quality time with your toddler, they’ll appreciate having just mommy time. And if the toddler is sleeping or maybe away with someone, and that baby is sleeping, you get your zzzz’s.

Make sure you keep nighttime dark dark and quietish we use a sound machine and my son loves the vacuum noise. I have 2 other kids make daytime bright and loud and allow them to play and be loud so baby knows everyone is awake. I would t say keep him or her awake but play with them during the day.

Ffs he’s a baby let the baby sleep whenever they sleep and get over it they need to sleep no matter what time in order for them to grow

Perfectly normal for 2 weeks. You must know that since you already have a toddler.

Sleep is developmental.
You let a baby sleep when they sleep.
It works itself out over time.
