How to get baby to sleep through the night?

Hey moms. Please help! My son just turned one a few days back. And for some reason he is still waking up for 2 bottles at night with formula! He’s now off the formula what am I going to do?? I know if I put milk in the bottle it will hurt his teeth but he also won’t go back to sleep! Also during the day I know that feeding him should fill him up and food should take the spot of the formula but he not a big eater! And gives me a hard time when it comes to food. Never had this issue with my other kids. Please help!!!

have you tried a snack before bed? maybe he just needs a little extra something to hold him through the night.

You also should no longer be giving him formula at all now that the baby is 1. & The formula at bedtime is just as bad for his teeth as milk anyway.

My son was on formula till he was over a year old, the only reason he was, is because he was on a special formula for him having acid reflux, we did switch him to a toddler version of his formula… but it took some time, to get him fully on the toddler version. But I always try to feed him a little bit later at night, that way he is full, and he will drink as calls them “bob” and then he goes to bed, not every night does he sleep thru the night, sometimes he just wants milk, to go back to sleep… it all depends on the child themselves…

I feed my baby oatmeal before bed

Just give him milk or water…also a snack before bed…Like cereal or things like that…water won’t hurt the babies teeth…

Really, you answered your own question in a sense. You know he’s not getting enough to eat, therefore, he’s going to wake up late night. Will he eat oatmeal? Try to get more solids down throughout the day and night. The worse thing you could do is put the baby to bed w bottle of juice or milk :woman_facepalming:t2: besides, that’s not going to curb his appetite come 2AM

My apologies I miss understood. They do make a “toddler formula” that you could use. My older son drinks a lot of milk. He isn’t to big of an eater either.

Cereal in his milk. Juice is worse for his teeth

You could always try the toddler mixed formula to try to help with the transition

Their is a toddler formula. I ended up giving it to one of my children because she just wasn’t ready to give up formula. I don’t know what to tell you about waking up 2x a night. Some kiddos do it and it just isn’t for a drink or bottle. Mine never did. Idk. Sorry I can’t help much more other than encourage you because you’re doing a great job mama!

Just give him milk and wipe his teeth before and after bed.

Or make sure he eats good before bed.

Just stop. Once you quit giving in he will quit too. :baby_bottle:

I mixed powder formula n powder milk half each n less each time to only water at night eventually quit , it’s a gradual transition n frustrating at times;”/

Try next step toddler formula, or NIDO I’m going to start wearing my 9 month old soon.

So for dinner you give him a full meal of whatever you made for dinner. Then 4/6 oz of regular milk. Formula isnt filling anymore. So he is hungry.
