How to get baby to sleep through the night?

Help!
My baby girl is now 8 months old. She started sleeping in her crib at 6 months, slept in it for a few weeks just fine, and then she got a cold. So I had her sleep in her rock&play during that time to keep her elevated for the drainage. Well, we never went back to the crib, and she’s now 8 months and every time we try the crib, she wakes up crying and rolling over on her belly. Not sure what to do?
I really want to have her sleep in the crib but we keep caving in to letting her sleeping in the rock n play.

Same my little one is 6 months old and he LOVES his rock and play and sleeps 10-12 hours straight in it. If I put him in his crib he’s up alll night :weary:

Stop caving in. Let her cry it out. Comfort her and keep putting her back in the crib until she’s used it.

Persistence is key…try letting her self soothe herself back to sleep in the crib…pack away the rock and play so it’s not a crutch for you to give in…do you have some type of mobile or something with music and lights? If you don’t I’d strongly suggest one that she can lay there and watch and fall back asleep on her own…and by 8 months old there should be no concern with her sleeping on her belly…it may be a tough couple nights but don’t give up! Good luck

It could be part of the leap she’s in. Mine is 9 months but I remember she was having a hard time sleeping for a few weeks.

I think babies naturally like to be curled up to sleep, like mom’s belly, in someone’s arms, the rock and play… I think laying flat without the comfort of the curled up feeling takes a bit getting used to. My son was the same way. It may take some time.

8 months is starting to get to the age where the rock and play is no longer safe. I wish you luck, I had this same problem, just we were trying to get him to sleep in the pack and play from there.
