How to get stains out of clothes?

What’s the best stuff to use to get stains out clothes I have a 5 year old boy he use to be very good about not getting any stains on his clothes at all but now he is bad about using his shirt to wipe his face after he eats I’ve told him that ruins his clothes I talked to him about why we use napkins/paper towels or that he can use a baby wipe if he prefers that but he still uses his shirts or sleevesI just bought lots of new clothes not long ago and I’m about to buy more new clothes for when he starts kindergarten

I used to use something called lestoil. It was great. Apply it to the stain and rub it in. Let it soak in then wash as you normally would using your usual detergent.

That’s part of having kids- boys especially. Kids aren’t able to think long term about taking care of of clothes so maybe he has play clothes and nicer clothes. It will be hard for awhile but it will slow down.

Whatever you use (Shout, spray and wash, Dawn) do not dry the clothes until the stain is out. Wash repeatedly until you get the stain out.

Shout normally but my mom swears by peroxide. Also I have used the dawn power wash spray on really greasy stain and it came right out

I swear by medical grade (not aromatherapy) eucalyptus oil to lift stubborn greasy stains like dried in bolognese sauce. On washable items a dab of the oil, rub it well into the fabric and then dampen and rub wet soap over the stain. Rub the

Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain remover! It works so well!! There’s even a bunch of tiktoks about it. It even gets out chocolate and red stains out of white clothes. There’s also a shoe cleaner. I use it constantly. My daughter comes to me with a stain she just got on her clothes and I can get it out while she’s still wearing it. It’s amazing

Young one, the old saying kids will be kids - you could try some of that spray that pre-soaks so the stain doesn’t set. When our boys get to about this age - we give the bandannas. They see their Elders using them - so they copy the behavior. Bandannas are just a “gang thing “ our people have been using for centuries (Mexican/Native American).

Spray&wash… Oxyclean… Dawn dish soap works too. Just spray and let sit for a bit. Remember once clothes are dried in the dryer the stains are set.

Shout is what I have found to work best.

Dawn dish soap for anything with grease. And I soak my kid’s clothes in oxyclean. They are good as new after that.

Vinegar and Dawn dish soap.

I like using a mix of dishwashing soap, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Use a soft bristle toothbrush. Also, surprisingly white toothpaste… and set in the sun. And wash like normal check after it’s out of the washer before drying.

Hydrogen peroxide, and hair spray

Tide 4 pods take out stains

Vinegar and baking powder

I use Peril wash liquid. Works great

  1. Go to Good will. Seriously. It’s ok to not have money for new clothes every week when kids are rough on clothes. :joy:
  2. Dawn. Oxi Stick. Shout tube. Pre Treat. Let it sets about 20-30mins. But take the shirt off immediately. It helps avoid a problem stain.

I’m not sure of a specific stain remover aside from good ol dawn, but a big key, I think, is to rinse asap. I like to rinse the article and treat the spot with dawn dish soap and use an old toothbrush to scrub it, then apply a little more and toss in the wash (also right away if possible)

Any grocery store carries ZOUT----I have never been more impressed with a product----it gets EVERYTHING out, with little effort–just spray and let it set a few minutes, then use warmest water to scrub the stains and they’ll lift right out!

It’s normal kid stuff. Bet you were the same way at that age. My 8 year old still does that. Get over it. Have school/good clothes and every day play clothes.

Fels Naptha. It’s a bar less than $2.00. Stuff works magic.
