So me being the absent minded idiot that I am I gave my 5 year old a multivitamin on an empty stomach and he’s thrown up twice now but other wise seems fine, any tips on soothing his tummy? (already in the process of calling his doctor)
I wouldn’t think the vitamin would cause that?? Idk though.
Will he eat bread or crackers? My son takes a liquid vitamin every day before school and one morning refused breakfast and went to school feeling nauseous. I picked him up and fed him and he felt fine after.
Water, sprite, toast, saltine
Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast
Calling the dr for what? It clearly says on the vitamins to take with food. You gave it to him without food and he got an upset stomach. It’s that simple.
Give them with food.
My son takes his all the time without eating first. And I take mine on an empty stomach as well. It all depends on what type of vitamin you give but either way not eating is going to make you feel sick since your blood pressure falls
Ummmmm why are you asking Facebook what to do with your child’s health. Go get him checked out!!!
Vitamins can make your stomach queasy, hence why it’s recommended to take with food. I’ve done this to myself too many times just give some crackers or a banana & make sure they stay hydrated. They’ll be fine, assuming it was just because of taking a vitamin on an empty stomach. My go to rule for barfing kiddos is; if it lasts for more than a day & they’re NOT acting normally, call the doc. If they’re acting normally, eating, drinking, even a little, I wait it out. Hydration is key! They make pedialyte popsicles which are great for keeping electrolytes up.
Give him crackers or something to eat asap. This happened to my daughter when she was 4 and after throwokg up i gave her crackers and she felt fine. She was sick for about 30 min. If hes still sick after an hour call his dr.
Peppermint water, liquids, and a brat/bland diet to get some food in
There’s a liquid med he can take 4 upset bellys
Saltine crackers and bubbly water.
I take mine all the time on an empty stomach and it tears me up for a good 30-60 minutes every damn time. But I keep doing it! It’ll work itself out lol!
Peppermint tea and crackers
A drink of milk then a sandwich
Idk but maybe if you are waiting for a call back from the doctor you can call poison control. Maybe they can tell you if you can do anything to help him.
Ginger ale and pepto bismal maybe
BRATS diet. Banana, rice, applesauce, toast, saltines!
Acidophilus (empty capsule in food or drink) or plain yoghurt.
If you can’t reach his doctor, call a pharmacist. They know a lot.
Crackers, sip ginger ale or sprite, few bites of banana followed by pepto.
Heavy syrup from canned peaches
What exactly would calling his doctor do😂 save yourself the phone call. It’s an upset tummy. Pepto or tums and some flat ginger ale.
Milk, probiotics, probiotics yoghurt. Aloe juice.
Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar teaspoon honey or sugar, cup of warm water.
Coke syrup, or coke warm(room temp)
I give my 3 yr old and my 5 yr old thier multivitamins every morning as soon as we wake up, so obviously empty stomach, and it’s NEVER made thier tummy’s upset…maybe the vitamin you gave isn’t age appropriate? Or has gone bad? (Does that happen?) Or has too much of one thing in it for him? Sounds like something going on more than just an empty tummy.
Crackers with peanut butter…
Might be sensitive to iron. I can’t take it; causes upset stomach.
Give him the juice from a can of peaches in heavy syrup. It’s high sugar but it coats the tummy and makes other things stick better. I always keep some on hand for upset stomachs. Just a few sips should do.
co incidental - he just got an upset tummy no result of multi vits hope he is better very soon
It does say don’t give on an empty stomach.
Why would a multi vitamin make him sick? He must have a bug.
That don’t cause an upset stomach unless sensitive to iron if not then I call bullshit I’ve done it myself before and was fine
Literally just give him a piece of bread and he’ll be fine. It’s the iron making him sick on empty stomach he’s not poisoned you don’t need to call his doctor lmao this group has got to be satire
That shouldn’t make him throw up could be a stomach virus or covid
This is not because of the vitamin. Only 1 kids vitamin
I have never been able to take multivitamins for this same reason and I’m 54 years old. He may be the same way. He’ll be fine. Give him a few crackers
Saltines, plain toast, Melba toast, plain white rice, apple sauce, Ginger ale. Any of these … The pediatricians refer to this as the BRATS diet (for stomach bugs) Bananas, Rice, Apple sauce, Toast, Saltines.
Common sense what do you for yourself ? Do it for him
Give a piece of plain toast, follow that with fluids and once his belly settles eat normal meals
So she feels bad already let’s make her feel stupid for even asking… That’s real nice…
I would say give him warm milk if he’s not lactose lol
Hell be okay after awhile mama, just try and get some crackers/bread and juice on his tummy
That being said, he may not be able to tolerate vitamins. I personally can only take certain ones, others make me sick too
I can’t take vitamins on an empty stomach without throwing up or getting damn close to it. He’s fine. Feed him toast.
Bread, crackers, or pretzels and sip on some Gatorade or Water.
For everyone going off that it isn’t the multi vitamin, both my daughter and I throw up when we take ours on a empty OR freshly full tummy. But what I do, is we slowly drink some luke warm water and have a small snack
I know when I get an upset tummy (which is a LOT with end stage kidney disease and on dialysis), I don’t want anything in my stomach until I feel better. Then I start with chicken noodle soup or crackers or hot tea. I hope he feels better soon. Poor baby. I can’t do any kind of pills on an empty stomach.
I can’t take vitamins or liquid meds on an empty stomach. Give him crackers or bread
The pills can be to hard on some stomachs, try the gummy multi-vitamins.
