How to increase breast milk supply?

Tips on increasing milk supply? Baby boy is 4 and a half months and for the first time his weight percentile went down. Doc thinks my supply may be dropping and I think that’s why he’s been crankier more often lately. Send help :sob: also, I just started pumping in between feedings to try to help it, just looking for other tips.

When you’re pumping, lube the inside of your flanges. I used coconut oil and it worked wonders for my supply. Walmart has cookies that you can buy. Drink tons of water!!! And take fenugreek. You can also you tube how to power pump. It is time consuming but it works.

I learned, nurse on demand with no schedule. & don’t confuse your supply/body with the pumps demand.

Greens on the go ! Itworks product. I can give you website to check it out and your more then welcome to pm me !

Join milky momma’s and be careful with fenugreek I’ve heard it can actually tank your supply more

I would not suggest fenugreek. It actually caused my friend’s supply to drop badly. I would suggest to drink A LOT of water. I tried the cookies they sell at walmart & they worked for me. Oatmeal helps too

He’s cranky because 4 months is a huge growth spurt and mental leap. They are normally sleeping poorly and nursing a ton at 4 months. Keepnking lots of water and nurse more frequently. Don’t start taking random supplement, most are not approved for nursing mom’s. Keep up the good work.

I drank lots of water and malts. It sounds weird but it actually helped me. I would go to Braums and get a malt and slowly eat it threw out the day.

Tons of water, snack lots, lactation cookies, feed on demand and there is this thing that collects breastmilk. It’s called a Haaka

I’m literally trying to find ways to boost my supply as well… after 40 minutes of pumping the combined yield was just under an oz. I’m slamming water right now. About to go eat some oatmeal (i hate oatmeal) and going to have a beer tonight… was told you can benefit from the brewers yeast in the beer and I don’t have brewers yeast currently available but i do have a guiness in the fridge. All the recipes for lactation cookies I’ve found say oatmeal and brewers yeast are the key ingredients for boosting supply.

Mothers milk tea, oats, oat milk, lots of water and good foods!

Here’s something I seen on here. Don’t know if it helps but it could be worth a shot!

Drink a beer every night.

Coconut Water, Oatmeal, Chia seeds, Flax meal, Brewer’s Yeast, Shatavari, Spirulina, Moringa, Sunflower Lecithin…

Have you tried massaging each boob just before pumping or feeding? And even during pumping! That helped my let down and gave me a decent amount of extra when pumping and feedings. Worth a try :woman_shrugging:t2: good luck and just keep going! You can do it!! :muscle:t2:

Also, if you’re sick of water, Gatorades really help increase my supply. Might be the electrolytes and/or sugars? I just get so tired of plain water.

I loved the lactation cookies at target there is also fenugreek pills and pinterest lactation ball recipes

Mother’s milk tea works so good in just 45 mins drink 3 a day and u be able to nurse and still pump after

Lots and lots of water, avocados, steel cut whole oats, almonds, mother’s milk tea 3x a day. There are reasons, pills amd other things you can buy at pharmacy’s to aid in it as well.

Supply and demand. Put him up there more and don’t pump. No supplementing with formula. Hang in there.

If weight is going down and your supply is too. Supplement with formula until supply increases

Drink one bottle of Beer. The beer has yeast. Try pump every 2 hours. Yes it’s stressful but hang in there. I have done this when I had my premature baby boy. I had to pump every 2-hours. I had to buy a deep freezer and still have to donate my breast milk.

Buy a car pump adapter. It’s been saving my life lately

Oatmeal and tons of water.

Oatmeal and water. Also, do not take antihistamines/ allergy meds. They will eliminate supply. Stress can also lower supply.

To everyone saying to drink tonnes of water it actually can decrease supply, I believe I read that in the what to expect the first year . Also being dehydrated doesn’t affect milk supply but drinking to much can decrease supply. Continue pumping and your body should adjust a few days later. Also make sure you’re eating all meals and snacks

Lots of water and take 2 fenugreek pills a day. Mine increased in 2 days

Drink lots and lots of water. Eat lots of food. Do lots of skin to skin. Be topless around your baby as much as possible even when not feeding. Sometimes their weight just goes up and down. Try hand expressing to encourage flow, but your baby will instinctively eat as much as he needs. I wouldn’t worry if he drops percentiles as long as he is feeding well.

I eat dill seeds and drink “boobie smoothie” it’s 1cup oatmeal (old fashioneded not quick oats) 1/3 cup blueberries and almond milk, 1tbsp ground flaxseed, 1 frozen banana and i shake soem cinnamon in and blend.
