How to increase milk supply?

Talk to a lactation specialist and have baby actually drink from the breast as much as possible only the baby can get the thick heavy milk from the furthest glands that trigger your body to produce milk. Also pumping is purely extra if the baby feeds on the breast during the day

I just doubled up on my vitamins, worked great

This happened I was getting 6 oz a pump dropped to 1-2oz. I let him latch all day and pumped after each feed too just keep getting that stimulation. Stay hydrated. I now get 4-5 oz a pump except mornings I get double. But just nurse often and pump a few mins after each nurse. Also make sure you are eating! It’s easy for us to forget to eat during this time but have granola bars handy, some fruits and veggies and get those calories in.

Old wives always said to drink tea,to increase breast milk, sit down relax and feed, and sip some ice tea

Pump every 2 hours on the dot inbetween feedings whenever you can… mine tanked for a few days and comes back up it slows down when my period comes or I’m not feeling well… or even stress it slows down… key is to pump every 2 hours and feed on demand ! I also eat a lot of protein it helps! And I take fenugreek and mothers Mongolia

My doctor told me that pumping does not produce the same reaction in your breast as breastfeed therefore you will produce less milk .the more the baby actually sucks on your breast the more milk you should make

Oatmeal, body armor, blue Gatorade and mother’s milk tea helped me immensely.

Its normal hun your body is adjusting to your baby’s needs pumping never gives you what your baby actually eats so please don’t judge your supply by that talk to a lactation consultant I know there’s cookies n supplements you can take I had to drink 1 beer n wait to help my supply with baby #3 and with baby #4 I had yo supplement with formula FYI he was a big baby with a big appetite hang in there its hard but worth it

Feed, then pump. Every hour.

Drink a ton of water. With the extra stimulation, you should rebound quickly.

Latch as much as you can. Pumping some times screws people.

Do you have any flu like symptoms with the pain? If you do, go get checked for mastitis. They gave me an antibiotic and said to keep nursing. That was 17 years ago, though.

Have you not seen your Doctor?

Your supply regulates between 4-6 weeks. I’m guessing that is what happened. With my youngest, my boobs never felt full and I never leaked after my supply regulated. I bf for 2&1/2 years. Latch your baby as much as possible and continue taking your prenatal vitamin and make sure your eating and drinking enough. As long as your baby is having good diaper output then I wouldn’t worry about it.

Drink tea and milk which will help to make more milk and eat nourishing meals.

My doc told me to,drink a big glass of Guiness beer at 4 everyday bcz my milk was scant around dinner time. Take a nap, increases milk. Every day drink 80 oz of water or fluid too.

Believe it or not that happened to me and the doctor said to drink a non-alcoholic beer the barley and the hops in it actually help you produced more milk

My sister was told the same thing back in the early 50’s.

I ate milk chocolate. My mom said I’d be sorry. She said I’d have an over production of milk…and boy did I ! My hubby called me a jersey cow. ( I wanted to smack him.) I never had any problem producing milk

Lots of water intake

Be sure to stay hydrated. Your body needs more hydration now. Drink and drink water. Oatmeal also helps, if you can have it for breakfast.

You want to make more milk to have to remove more milk. The more you remove the more your body makes.

Breastfeeding is supply and demand. No matter what supplements or dietary changes you make your supply won’t increase if your baby isn’t latching frequently or you’re not pumping. Baby should latch or you should pump for minimum 15mins every 3-4 hours (whether milk is coming out or not). If you’re not doing one or the other your supply will not increase.

Nothing really increases your milk supply other than supply and demand pump/ nurse more and you’ll make more milk. Stay hydrated and eat enough calories

You should probably invest or rent a good breast pump they can help. I used one exclusively as I couldn’t get my son to latch on and it was frustrating but the pump does the work for you. I stopped pumping 5 months before my son’s first birthday I had a freezer full to last.

Pump more frequently and make sure to stay hydrated and keep calories up. For me I got bored with water so I drank body armour (coconut water) in their many flavors my favorite was the orange and another that was pineapple. Delicious

Breastfeeding is supply and demand.
So you need to nurse more to get more milk. Baby saliva and suction sends messages to milk production team.

Depending on age of baby, nurse and/or pump every 3hrs. .5 Oz to an 1oz an hr is normal.

Drinking milk won’t increase your supply unfortunately. Talk to a lactation consultant if you can, they will have heaps of info on increasing supply and could help you to wean off formula top ups once you bring your supply up. The best way to increase supply is to keep removing milk so if you are breast feeding feed as much as you can and make sure that latch is good. If you’re pumping you could try add in a power pump. It’s hard hard work especially when trying to look after a baby at the same time but it’s totally possible

Goat milk for replacement for ur baby my son loves to drink it I drank it when I was pregnant with him

A good healthy diet. Lots of water. Lots of stimulation to breasts. Even a hot shower to breasts. Breastfeeding often and pumping in between. The more stimulation you get the more milk you produce

The more you nurse the more milk you produce . Period .

Here to add— mama, don’t beat yourself up if you’ve done everything “by the books” and your supply isn’t increasing. Time once was, I did full days of skin to skin, power pumped all day, nursed on demand, ate the reccomend foods and drank tea that tasted like crap… all to find out that none of it mattered anyway because my Prolactin levels never rose after delivery.
Fed is best, and you’re doing great.

Coconut water helps, as well as breast feeding and pumping in between. Also try fenugreek supplements.

Oatmeal cookies or Oatmeal in general will help, but for the milk, to make it taste more like regular cows milk, you can either mix it 50/50 with cows milk or maybe buy heavy cream for the oat milk

Drink more water and eat more food bteast milk is also supply on demand the more you breastfeed or pump the more milk you will have

Don’t use a pacifier. Everytime you want to give your baby a pacifier, start breastfeeding. Become a human pacifier and your milk will come back ten folds.

Try what everyone is suggesting. But if you can’t get your milk production up, it’s not the end of the world. It happens.

Just drinking will help

Drink lots of water try to nurse the baby on the breast or pump every 2 hours if you need to. It’s supply & demand… the more your baby consumes the more your body is told to make more. Also if you can have peace and quiet or just have yourself mentally in a good place while you’re nursing it creates a better milk flow

Blue Gatorade and nursing on demand for a couple of days always upped my supply.

You have to drink about 1/2 of a carton of oat milk per day for it to make a difference. That could get expensive. It’s hard to find my favorite brands these days so I get whatever is on sale or available. Some are gross. But Hershey’s makes a Carmel syrup that I mix in my glass to make it way better! You can do strawberry or chocolate also.
Lots of water, pumping every 2 hours, oatmeal cream pies, body armor and brewer’s yeast tablets all helped me increase supply.

When I got c*vid my supply dropped and my baby was only six months old. I had to supplement. I used a combination of all these things and within a week my supply came back. My baby is 14 months and still breastfeeding. In the frida mom kit there’s a breast massager, this was recommended to me by WIC as it’s been proven to help with milk production. Moms who pumped with the massager had more output.

You can add in power pumping sessions. Pump after breastfeeding your baby to encourage milk supply. Before feeding your baby the formula try breastfeeding. If baby can stimulate a letdown see if that satisfies baby and if not offer the formula. Always offer the breast before the formula. Any time you can get baby to latch or feed, this will increase your demand and up your supply.

Got a Starbucks nearby? Go get a pink drink.

Body armor drinks or coconut water, smoothies with flax seed and chia seed, as well as eating foods with oats in them will help if you’re not wanting to switch milks.

Put baby on the boob more, the more they feed the more you make! And drink lots of water! 2/3 L a day

Body armor oatmeal pie cookie and oreos

It worked pretty well for me ! Plus remember pumping is NOT. A good indicator on how much milk ur making … nothing gets the milk going like nursing ur little one… try not to stress out and drink lots of water and oatmeal works great too.

I drank water constantly to produce a lot of milk when I was pumping.

Drink lots of water, lactation cookies, lactation shakes

Pumping is not a sign of supply. It’s all supply and demand.
Your body could be evening out, getting used to supply and demand. So it knows how much it needs now. It takes 4-6 weeks for supply to match demand.
Feeding baby on demand will help tell the body what is needed, baby has the best suction and their saliva also sends signals to production.
Increase hydration, and calories.

Much breast stimulation and water. Good diet is essential.

You’ve regulated which is normal. Having an oversupply is not normal. If you need help, add the page… “expressions! Lactation services”

Your milk starts to regulate so don’t worry if it seems less. Don’t compare your pumping with formula bottles. You really will be only pumping tiny amounts now. If you’re worried, make sure you drink lots of water, eat sensibly and look at a picture of your baby before pumping. Also try pumping first thing in the morning. You can also pump between feeds to get supply up.

Lots of water! Keep your calories up (healthier food options). Lactation cookies and tea helped me.
Power pumping.

Lots lots of water and make sure to pump regularly, pump after each feeding

When are you pumping? Why are you pumping? How many weeks post partum are you?

Supply and demand, drink plenty fluids, plenty nutritious foods and titty pump between feeds will help increase you’ll feel it too xx

Pump more, try doing every 2 hours even at night for now until more comes in. Also, cover the pump with a towel so you don’t watch how much is coming out. Your milk will come in more so don’t stress.
