Seeking weight loss advice.
I need to lose weight badly. I’m getting closer and closer to 300 lbs. Currently, 265 and I’m noticing how hard it is on my body. I’m a stay home mom three months pp with terrible anxiety of leaving the house with or without baby, terrible habits when it comes to eating, and very little motivation to get active at all. I honestly am not eating a whole lot, and I eat my fruits and veggies. Yogurt. Chicken. But always smaller portions.I’m a sucker for bread and pasta because I just enjoy It. And I have super sugary coffee every day because I love it. I’m just not burning calories fast enough. I was told by several people the depo shot I’m on is causing this dramatic weight gain. I was 218 lbs 2 weeks after having a baby! And 230 when I got the depo shot!
My husband works, and I stay at home with our three months old. He’s not mobile quite yet, so I spend a LOT of time just sitting and holding him. Hubby leaves the grocery list, and meal plans up to me because I do most of the cooking. But he is 100% on board to do any diet I do.
I need to get over my anxiety and go for walks, but it’s all in my head, and I need to overcome it. I have no one to exercise or walk with other than a baby with a stroller. I’m super interested in meal plans, super low cal diet, even fasting diets.
Any advice and tips, inspiration to get motivated. Ill take it. I just need a push.
Thank you!

Keto will help you. Quit with the sugary coffee and all the pastas and bread, that is what is making you gain weight quickly (believe me I know). The depo shot isnt whats making you gain weight, if thats the case everyone on it would have weight issues. I was on it for awhile and never gained weight because of it.
Drink lots, lots of water, portion control and less sugar, also walking or exercise. My dad has lost 50 pounds so far

I lost 100 pounds in under a year by counting calories. I ate 1500 calories a day plus I would drink a gallon of water each day.

I think you should focus on getting your anxiety under control first. Has this been something you have had all your life? Is it just associated with having a baby and being a new mom. I think diet is important but coming from someone who lives daily with anxiety, it is soo important to get that in check because otherwise it is like having two little devils on each shoulder inhibiting other parts of your life. Good luck mama!! You got this!!

Drink a lot of water… YouTube has workout videos (for free) for no equipment and at home…
When i got to 215, after my oldest was born (csection, health issues, etc) I drank a gallon of water a day, did 100 squats a day ( not all at once), and did planking. . Went down to 115…
Long story as to why I put a big chunk back on… and that story is now my ex, lolololololol. .
Most of all… don’t weigh yourself too often once you commit. . You’ll lose inches more than weight, but you’ll give yourself a complex if you live on the scale…
Also, if you can find an online accountability buddy, it helps… you can lie to yourself easier than lying to someone else. Get each other hyped up, and share good and bad days…
Hugs!! Good luck!
I never gained weight on Depo. But I’d suggest California Weight Loss. I saw it do amazing things for my coworkers. She lives a pretty inactive life too.
I know a lot of people who have had success on the Keto diet and you still get to eat good foods like regular bacon and steak and stuff like that. It’ll just be hard if you eat a lot of carbs. Also, slowly try to cut back on the sugar content of your coffee. If you can, drink a lot of water and/or green tea. It’ll help flush your system. There are also a lot of fruit infused waters if you don’t like regular water
I hear a lot of excuses… get a running stroller and get out there. You can eat as well as you like, but without some real exercise, you will never burn the calories you need to in order to see any real actual loss. Cardio and weight lifting are your friends.
It’s all about what you eat, do smaller portions. Drink a lot of water. I have anxiety about being in public also, but if you stay trapped in the house you’re gonna get depressed and get worse. Get up, go to the park and walk. Walk around the house. YouTube home workouts you can do. You gotta push yourself you can do it!
When I was on depo I had an extreme issues with losing weight. I exercised everyday, cut a lot of crap out etc. Wasnt till I got off the shot and year later the weight just dropped off. I lost alot but then I hit bad depression spell and got pregnant so gained some back. Recently back to doing what I have such as not sugar in coffee, water only, walks with my baby, replacing pasta and bread with healthier options such as spaghetti squash, cauliflower in place of rice and potatoes, and intermittent fasting
LOVE the honesty!!
I take meds to control my crippling anxiety.
I love potatoes and pasta too!
We use cauliflower and gluten free noodles!
Motivation: paint it on a canvas and post it on your wall the reason you started this weight loss journey in the first place!
I was 268 and now im 320. (Due to meds) & im sick. My body hurts, its hard to put my socks on, its hard to shave, it just get harder the bigger you are!!
Im speaking from experience!
Im starting my weight loss journey TODAY!

I lost 70lb in 10mnts after giving birth slimming world cut back on bread but you can eat pasta and rice, lean meats cut out oil you can eat potatoes i snacked on pickled onions, gherkins that kind of thing you can have 15 syns a day which is not too bad if you want a little treat each day x
Get an app like My fitness pal and a Fitbit, things that will make you hold yourself accountable. It’s an easy way to see exactly what’s not working. What worked for our family was- Clean Keto!!! I would avoid dirty Keto- the one where you replace regular sugar for artificial sweeteners and eat bad fats vs healthy fats like salmon and avocado… you have to eat clean or you’re just replacing bad foods for chemicals. I have done Whole30 because I have a couple of autoimmune diseases and my DR recommended it to see what foods my body has triggers from. I lost 15 pounds the first round (30 days) with it. My husband lost 25 in the first month with Keto.
Also get your thyroid checked.
I did Keto, lost 75 lbs in 8 months and have maintained for about 6 months now.

I was in a very similar boat as far as eating and anxiety! i started walking at night around my block with my baby… carrier or stroller… i went as long as I could and then headed home… make sure you’re drinking enough water!!! I personally feel the first step to a healthy wellness journey is getting water intake where it should be… eventually I started walking earlier in the evening. then I started getting out of the house. after 8-9 months, I bought a peloton and i LOVE IT. i know intermittent fasting is very effective but not long term. i don’t think you should be going on a low cal or restricted diet… i would
suggest a very clean diet and a good enough amount of calories that you won’t end up binging.
Make appointments that you have to be on time for. You may also have postpartum depression and/or post partum anxiety. Start with grocery trips. Maybe sign up for baby and me yoga or baby and me swimming. It’s hard at first, but it wont always be like this❤

Message me if you’re serious.
My favorite place to work out was our local YMCA. The membership is pretty affordable and they have financial assistance if needed.
Where I am, it’s a lot of older people and “bigger” people looking for a place to workout without the judgement. They also have child watch included in the membership here.

I would look into Noom.
It’s more a mental thing. Diets, while work, also bounce back on you if you don’t stay on that diet.
Keto, unless you’re dietetic or have pcos can cause serious heart issues later on.
Noom works with you on the mental level and emotional. Then maps out food and workouts that actually fit you.
A girlfriend of mine had twins and was close to 250. 6months later she’s down about 70 pounds using the app.
With Noom (I weighed 156 at the end of my pregnancy- aug 22) I’m projected to be down to 118 in December.
Now my sister in law does the shakes and teas as food replacement Breakfast and lunch. Gym an hour a day and walks 3 miles a day during the week. She’s down about 50 pounds.
You could maybe start pushing baby in a stroller! Take them around the neighborhood or even the park
Lots of walks, and definitely check out Keto diet!!
You could look into Optivia.
As far as anxiety and not having an exercise partner.
I would get audible books and listen to them. I become so enthralled in the story that I lose the world around me.
Idk if that’s possible for you. I’m an avid reader so it’s easy for me, and audible just makes it hands free.
I couldn’t exercise with a partner anyway. I always feel either that theyre holding me back, or I them. Try to enjoy it on your own so that you don’t use another person as an excuse, ya know?
Plus you could try routines at home!
Maybe follow exercise routines on YouTube that you can do from home. Also check with your doctor and make sure you dont have a vitamin deficiency…it can make you depressed and tired.
There are plenty of exercises you can do inside or in your yard. If you have stairs, walk them! Or powerwalk though the house. You can do jumping jacks or a jump rope. 30 min of cardio goes a long way!
Baby wear!!! I swear I lost all my baby weight wearing my babe every day. You get all the snugs, your hands are free to so whatever housework needs to get done or really anything, and it’s a great workout. Bonus, cooking is a breeze once you’re able to put baby on your back and have your whole front free! I personally wouldnt cook over a stove even if babe is on your back but I do a lot of food/meal prep with abe on my back.

I find it hard to get motivated to work out in the house but there are tons of workouts online. Download MyFitnessPal and start counting your calories. You put in a weight loss goal and it tells you the amount you can eat each day. All you need is the free version. Use Stevia instead of sugar in your coffee. It’s a natural calorie free sweetener that won’t spike your blood sugar like Splenda does. Diet is 80% of weight loss but setting the app to lose one pound a week doesn’t feel like a diet. It pushes you to make better food choices. We eat rice with baked chicken or 93/7 ground beef browned, drained and seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning while dieting down. You can eat pasta but you have to measure it. You can do this!!

You can go to the mall n walk it…I weighed 210lbs and I’m only 4’11…I too had no energy or motivation to do anything, but that was all in my head…so I started walking 2 miles a day for a month then I went to 4 miles a day 2 in the mornin n 2 in evening for about 4months faithfully tho…and the weight started falling off of me…
I never watched wat I ate, I just ate smaller portions…and I did it all alone, I had no one at all…
I was wearing a 16/18 sometimes a 20 n that gave me all the motivation i needed…i drink alot of soda n I couldnt give it up, so I didnt but I kept on walking n walking n walking…its been 4 years since I’ve weighed 210 n now I weigh 140 n couldnt be happier…try it sweetie, it works…just keep walking, I listened to music while walked or I would talk on the phone while walking n b4 I knew it I had already walked 4miles…it gets easier everyday just got to start, and that’s the hard part…once you get going, nothing can stop you n when you see the weight coming off your gna want to walk even more…
Good luck sweetheart!!!

You know all the bad foods, the only way to lose weight is diet and exercise, it’s hard to stick to, but get yourself into a routine, there are low calorie foods out there that are good, maybe find a good friend to help give you support and swap recipes, join a health club and see the pounds fall off.
Why is everyone talking about breastfeeding she never mentioned that she was? Lol

Don’t look for a fad or fasting diet. Ask your doctor to refer you to a nutritionist who can help you learn what is good for your body in the long term so you can find a plan that is effective and realistic. And while diet is super important, you won’t lose without moving. Doesn’t sound like you have a whole lot else going on so make exercise part of your daily routine. Switch it up so you don’t get bored. Walk/jog a few days a week, look for exercise videos or join a ymca and take classes. (Ymca is income based so tends to be more affordable and has childcare). Sounds like you may have some depression going on too and the endorphins from exercise will help with that as well. Lastly don’t be too hard on yourself. I gained 30 lbs on depo as well, but just because it’s there now doesn’t mean you can’t get it back off.
Drink water, stop the coffee drinks with a lot of sugar. Less carbs and if you do, eat moderately. Always remember what goes in, must come out or else you gain weight. Sounds like your blaming your meds on weight gain (which could be the cause), but it also sounds like if you ate better and got more exercise you would lose the weight. Also if your gonna go that route, have your thyroid checked.
When it comes to losing weight it is really impute not restrict too much either. You will have to find your calorie sweet spot. Mine is around 1500-1600. if I drop lower to about 1000 a day I will quickly stop losing any weight become body is conversing energy. Look up portion sizes, focus on chicken, veggies, fruit and if you want to eat carbs whole grain! A low carb diet can be tough energy wise. If you like your sweet hoffe, maybe sub it out with a smoothie.
Look for a mommy group in your area. A lot of cities have them im Facebook. They meet at a park to walk, maybe that will be easier for you. I know it’s hard on you, think of how you want to be healthier for your baby. And i would also discuss different birth control with your doctor if that may have something to do with it. Good luck!!
Start walking that baby in the pram every day. Even if its just around the block do it and cut out the pasta . Drink water lots of it…good luck

Get rid of sugar and pasta and bread. Walk around outside if you can. Dont sit and eat. Ask yourself am i hungry or not
Once baby gets some more head control use him to help you work out! I do this all the time with both my babes haha! Also find some videos you can do at home! I had the same thing happen on the depo I would maybe look into a different bc because if you are doing all this work you don’t want it to be for nothing if your bc is going to keep making you gain.
Eliminate sugar and cream in coffee! You will adjust to it and also lose weight!
Walking with baby while listening to your favorite music helps the time pass so you don’t dwell on the “ugh is this over yet!?” Part. It works for me!
I bought a bottle of keto metabolism booster. It seems to be helping me. Ive cut out pop and alot of other things and couldnt lose the weight then i bought that and suddenly i have more energy im not tired and i overall feel better.
I kept the coffee bread and pasta is bad for weight loss depo shot made me gain a bunch of weight and I was bitchy to my hubby. But i also just found out I have not only hypothyroidism but i also have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis which makes it very difficult to loose weight
I’m on Weight Watchers and honestly even though it’s slow and steady, I’m not eliminating anything from my diet. Just portion control.

Try a diabetic diet. It’s low sugar and helps a lot. I do 3 8 ounce meals and snacks all day like cucumbers or chickpeas
You got to make yourself get up and go. Get up get dressed and get to moving with baby in tow. I stay home also but between the hours of 7:30 and 12:00 I don’t stay in house. I make myself get up and take pride in my grooming and my choice of clothing. Then I get out in the world walking and talking. Size doesn’t matter. Beautiful people come in different sizes. Look in the mirror and love the person staring back at you from head to toe. You got this.

I feel you. I started trying about a month ago when I weighed in at 256. I started taking some diet pills while doing a 8/16 fast. Basically you only eat between 12pm and 8pm and nothing but water after 8pm and before noon. Taking the pills 30-45 minutes before meals helps you eat less, store less fat from the meals, and helps cut out any cravings for snacks in between. Exercise helps but being a bit big doesn’t help with mobility. I do at least 4 days at the gym and do just 1 hour of cardio, start slow, and 15 minutes in the sauna before and after my workout. Most gyms now have daycare for the babies as little as 6 weeks. Its been a month now and I’ve lost 10 pounds but I feel tons better and can move more and do more at the gym. Aside from the fasting, I haven’t really done any kind of diet aside from calorie counting my lunch meal but I eat whatever I want for dinner. Anyway, I hope this helps. I feel your struggle.
Start by walking around ur backyard with baby in a carrier or pram! Start off small once uve got comfy with that then maybe round the block! It’s hard & u like it but get ur food under control! Try brown rice steamed broccoli & 2 fried eggs! I did this 3 times a week and lost 30kgs in about 3 months! Stay strong & use it baby as motivation! Good luck
Excercise is EVERYTHING. If you diet with no excercise your weight won’t stay off.

Currently in your situation. It’s hard momma one day at a time, small changes first then add to it. I walk with my one year old and 7 and 11 year old, eating I calorie count 1200 calories a day and done no eating after 7pm and I allow a cheat day on Saturdays. I drink only water a lot of Walmart’s clear American sparkling water in a can just to have the fizz. You’ll get there. But it’s a mindset and life long goal or it will all come back on.the
That’s alot of weight gain. Don’t blame the Depo. You need to see a Dr. You gain almost 50 Lbs in almost two & half months.

I’m a super busy sahm. I have 5 kids. My best advise is to find healthy alternatives to what you like. I’ve first started with different eating habits and I have exercised some but that’s my next step. Just eating habits alone I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’m down in the 140s now. I’ve need to tighten things up but anyways… I have changed my diet and go for walks with my little one at home. Also portion sizes. I’ve learned you can eat what you like in healthy servings. There’s really good shakes out there to help with cravings. I really want to try lady boss lean which is a daily nutritional shake that taste like vanilla cake. You can use it in coffee, oatmeal, and so much more. Most of all just keep moving and go out to walk. I have anxiety. I still pick myself up for my kids so they can have a full life. There’s a lot of people at weight loss centers that would be in your corner. You just have to be willing to go.
I lost 50 pounds doing a low carb diet. Max of 1800 calories. 3 meals and 3 smacks. No more than 30g of carbs for the meals and 15 G of carbs for the snacks. Smaller portions as many veggies as you want. Take small walks and gradually increase your distance. Get yourself a stroller and take the baby with you. And you can do some floor work outs too
Tge shot will make you gain weight but try the keto diet
Just start small, I cut out pop a couple months ago and have already notice a little difference in weight. I occasionally do drink it but not nearly as often. Just start small and keep reminding yourself that you got this!
There are so many moms groups!! Getting a jogging stroller and get signed up with one of your local groups. They do play dates, baby classes etc.
Sounds like post partem depression. See your Dr and tell him/her about your problems with anxiety and your weight gain. I’m sure the Dr can run tests and prescribe something. Super sugary drinks should be cut back on or cut out completely, though.
There’s apps you can try that are pretty decent! I am in a similar boat with that anxiety and no one to work out with so I started with those and they can really kick your ass lol
Pic on the left was 340 lbs, right was at about 210. Used Herbalife shakes 2 times a day and a healthy meal of my choice. Took me a year bit its doable. Just have to burn more calories than you take in. Make small changes, drink plenty of water. Good luck, still working on losing more, would love to help you on this journey

I gained weight on the depo shot when I was 19. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. They wanted to give me the shot again but I won’t do it again. Just keep trying to eat right and just try walking or doing lunges or even walking up and down steps if you can. Good luck and well wishes.
Do your research on keto. It may be for you.
Okay mama try to reduce your sugars and carbs. Download a playlist on your cellphone and put baby in stroller and go for a walk. Start of 15min to 30mins per day and increase the time from there when u feel more comfy. Yes the depo provera shot causes a dramatic weight gain and the ectra carbs and sugar isnt helping much luv. Been where you are now and i have pcos so its extra tricky but just convince yourself you muct do it. U may feel like u can miss a day if walking cause x y z crops up so make sure and get your chores out of the way early so unleas its an absolute emergency you’ll have that time to walk. GL mama!
Stop the shot!!! I gained 40 lbs on that sucker! Get off of it! Do the pill.
It’s about exercising. Eat what you want (within reason) but exercise. It makes you feel better all around. Take the baby for a walk in the stroller, find the big steep hills, push yourself to walk the hilly streets. After I had my twins, that’s what I did, and looked great in no time.

I’m going through a lot of the same…I did not get my second shot of depo because Of weight gain, no matter how hard I exercised and how healthy I ate… my weight wouldnt budge…I got discouraged and now I’ve gained because I stopped trying as hard. I’m struggling to choose a birth control…will probably go for the Nuva ring. Until then, condoms, sorry honey lol
Ask your hubbs if he can help get ya started going out. slowly. Late night trips to target or kroger wked best for my anxiety at first. Then moved into more traffic times. Then I went by myself late nite with my pup in the car and wked my way into more heavily trafficked times. Wked my way up to parks earlier the better at first and I am doing better now. Still have my moments but I’m down over 15 lbs. Also switch off depo bc of weight gain gives our already subconscious selves a tear down. I didn’t really stop eating or drinking my pop or pasta. It was about getting moving which is just so hard when ur having pp. Good luck love. Soon ur little one will have you moving lots anyways.
