I have a question to any mothers who were diabetic before getting pregnant. How hard was it to keep your sugar levels down, with medication and insulin?

The first time I had it I kept it under control with diet and walking. The second time I had it I was on bed rest. I had to take the meds but my sugars were still high and I think it’s because I barely had any activity.(My daughter ended up in NICU for 5 days) I’m not a fitness person, but the first time I refused the meds to see if I could do it on my own.
