I am gaining weight...advice?

Hey mamas. So I’ve noticed I’ve been gaining weight steadily. I’m on psych meds and anxiety meds. And I have nexplanon. But this is my second nexplanon and I didn’t have this issue before. Anyone else go through this? What gives?

I gained 40 pounds in 2 months on psych meds!! Get off of them!! It’s very hard to get rid of it as well and keep it gone!!!

All of the above can cause weight gain to be honest. I would ask your Dr about your concerns and try to go from there. Try to explain that you don’t want to be on another med to lose weight. They might be able to adjust your meds to fit your needs

I gained 60 lbs in 3 months on an anxiety med! Didn’t know it was that until I went off of it and my weight kept coming off.
It’s so frustrating. I would talk to your doctor about the meds you are taking. I’m on some now that don’t cause weight gain.

Quit the meds and go to the gym. Best thing I ever did!

Go to your doctor. Can you get off these meds?

A lot of medications can also directly affect your thyroid and thus gain weight as well. Have your doctor do a thyroid panel specifically your T3& T4. Vitamin B complex can also help boost your thyroid hormones and assist. I’m on psych meds, anxiety meds and treatment for my lupus and they def disrupt the bodies normal functioning. Just a thought …

It’s the psych and anxiety meds I promise because I’ve been on and off of them for 24 years now. Each time I go off I lose weight each time I go back on I gain weight and I can be just eating simple healthy meals and I’ll still gain the weight.

it’s prob the meds more than your birth control. although every woman is different. i have rapidly put on weight from psycho meds multiple times. they’re awful on your body but sometimes if you need them you need them!

It’s the psych meds. Ask your doctor if they can put you on metformin for weight loss. I did my clinical rotation at a psych hospital and noticed that’s what patients were taking to combat the weight gain from psych meds.
