I am unsure how to feel about my in laws coming to visit: Advice?

You could ask them to do a two week quarantine the two weeks leading up to the trip. Wear masks in public places for the trip ?

I say wait till next year

Could they get tested once they leave and once they arrive ?

Not a chance that would be happening in my house. They can visit when numbers are down significantly or they are vaccinated.

The virus isnt going anywhere so what are you people going to do? Avoid seeing family for god knows how long?..

Ask them to quarantine between now and they leave, also to take a test and ask for the test results. I am sure they have been limiting travel as well, and masks are mandatory on the plane, you can also ask them to bathe and put on clean clothes as soon as they step in before seeing the kids, then wash their travel clothing. There is no reason to not see family when cautions can be taken, if they end up dying before this is “over” you will regret not giving your kids the one last chance to spend time with grandparents.

Better safe than sorry and tell them they have to postpone their visit

Discuss with your husband your feelings then say NO!

It is up to you, I am going to go see my Grands over Thanksgiving, I have not seen them since July. If my daughter in law had these feeling and explained them to me I would understand and stay at home for now. In my case we are driving 6 hrs to see them with no plans to stop any where a long the way because I do not want to get exposed to the virus if I get it when I get back I will know I got exposed while there. Just be careful and handle it gently because some people don’t handle things like this well.

I’d tell them we are skipping this year. I mean they are watching what’s going on in the world also, I’d assume. I don’t understand why people are getting mad over this. Skip a damn year and possibly live to see another is how I look at it

My husband flew and he had to have the COVID test before he could fly. Make sure they are tested before flying if the airline doesn’t demand it.

only let them stay for 2 to 3 days wearing masks and not get too close to kids

Tell them the truth of how you feel!

They will be fine. It’s not even that serious

Not to worry kids have high immune systems. I also know two people who tested positive and had absolutely no symptoms at all and one of them was asthmatic. Enjoy them while you can.
