I found out I was pregnant after getting the covid vaccine: Will baby be okay?

Months ago, I did my first dose of vaccine, and one month and some days after, I did my second… however, one week after, I discovered that I was pregnant for about 4 to 5 weeks… so far, no issues, but I’m still concerned about the consequences this may have on mu pregnancy or my baby… any doctors around here that could help me to clear up my doubts, please? Thanks in advance

My wife’s doctors who we are very close with since they have delivered all 5 if out children highly recommended she get the vaccine. She got 2 doses if the Maderna one and everything was fine. It is a new vaccine, but it has been used hudreds if millions of times. And now the baby will also have some level of immunity.

It’s supposed to give the baby the antibodies which is good

Let’s just hope this isnt a Sweet Tooth kinda year. But it would kinda be cool. Lol

There have been babies born with antibodies. Talk to your physician and they can tell you what to expect. On here, you will get a lot of anti-vaxxers that will say anything to scare you

***Don’t like what I said, keep scrolling! Your opinion isn’t going to change my mind

It’s new so NO ONE can tell you!!!

I don’t think it’s been out long enough for anyone to have a good, reliable idea of how/what it can effect.

You and your baby will be magnetic. Just think of it as a superpower.

How is anyone supposed to know covid vaccine is up in the air lol

There were women who got pregnant during the trial, and they’ve also followed other women after who have gotten vaccinated, and started a separate study for pregnant women. There have been NO issues.

I would be cautious! If you’re having any problems definitely go to the ER right away. Make sure your OBGYN knows that you been vaccinated. Some of the research on pregnant women & complications is not good. Alway say positive & be very careful.

This is just one perspective obviously there are many experiences, but one of my good friends got both doses while she was pregnant and she just had a perfect little boy with no issues. When the rest of her family got a cold, he was the only one who didn’t. There is going to be a whole generation of babies born with antibodies.

One reason why I won’t get it while I’m pregnant, can’t really say whether it’s harmful or helpful. I just rather not. Hopefully though everything will be fine!

I have known a few women who were pregnant when they received theirs and their babies were born with the antibodies . Discuss with ur OB

Not the same but I.knoe they will.not give u the mmr vaccine if.ur are pregnant or trying to get pregnant as it’s a severe risk to.baby. idk call family doc or w.e doc u many have to.inquire

Being that most vaccines inserts. Not the paper they give you at the doctors, the actual insert for the vile states not safe for pregnant women I would be very careful.

I don’t think anyone can really say at this point as it is new but just trust your gut and your body and if you get the slightest thought to call your doctor then listen and do it or go to emerge if any pain or bleeding happens. I’m sure you and baby will be just fine, take a breath Mama! All the very best!

Chances are the baby will be fine, but really there is no way to know. The vaccine hasn’t had a lot of testing done on pregnant women, or anyone really. Best case the baby gets some of the immunization… so that would be plus.

I don’t mean for this to come off as rude, but it’s a little late now, right? I mean, it doesn’t matter what the doctors or anyone says… it is what it is at this point.

I hope nothing happens to you or your baby at all, but no one (doctor or not) can tell you long term effects about a shot that’s unapproved and only has about 8 months of data.

No one knows. The vaccine is experimental.

my daughter’s coach got her vaccine while pregnant and had gotten multiple blood clots. So far they don’t know what effects it will have on baby, if any at all, but this was a month ago and she’s due next Month. Still using crutches because of all the clots in her legs:(

CDC just updated on June 9th that pregnant women are encouraged to get the vaccine. Just like any vaccine/drug, there can be mild to severe side effects, but, I wouldn’t be too concerned until you are given a reason to be.

A lot of drs and the ACOG are recommending pregnant women get the vaccine due to the increased risk pregnant women have from Covid. I’m sure all is well. I just got my first dose at 16 weeks and truly believe I am doing what is best to protect myself and my baby.

My ob highly recommended I get it when I found out I was pregnant earlier this week. I even had a birthing center nurse who gave me my first shot say getting covid while pregnant is absolutely horrible.

All my OBs said absolutely not and it’s too high risk with unknown factors/outcomes. I did jot get it, still didn’t, and won’t. But not to scare I have heard a high count of miscarriages due to it.

Your baby should be perfectly fine! It is so early in the developmental stages that your child hasn’t formed his or her organs and other parts of the body! I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks and was on medication that would have been harmful to a baby and development however because I found out so early I asked my doctor what damage would have been done and she said it was too early for any damage to have been done! I hope this helps. If you are still concerned call your doctor and talk to them about it, mums panic about enough throughout pregnancy. Give yourself some peace of mind!

There is no data showing that the vaccine is having ANY effect on baby besides the possibility of transferring antibodies to baby which is fantastic.

TBH covid-19 & the vaccines haven’t been researched enough to really know the affects on every group or the long term affects. I hope your baby is ok. There’s no way of knowing for sure though.

It would depend on which vaccine. I believe the AZ one has a miscarriage risk so if you’ve got this far hopefully this will continue. You have to declare there’s no possibility you could be pregnant though so I’m surprised they gave you the jab if your period was due. I had both a flu vaccine and my Rubella one whilst pregnant with no ill effects.

I just want to say what awesome comments! Different opinions on such a controversial topic and no one is being overly aggressive about this. Makes me love this Mama group even more. :two_hearts: Congratulations on your baby and I pray for a healthy pregnancy and delivery for mom and baby. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Well just like the rest of America it’s a wait and see thing unfortunately all guinea pigs

Since it’s not fda approved, there’s no telling what the long term affects could be. It’s just gonna be a wait and see what happens type of thing. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

The only person who you should actually trust or ask is your doctor but I will say this. My doctor told me straight up not to get this vaccine while i am pregnant and I am 17 weeks right now. Her reason,This vaccine hasn’t been tested long enough to know for sure the real affects it has on pregnant women or their babies. Sadly there has been quite a few women who have gotten the vaccine while pregnant that have lost their baby shortly after and a woman that got the vaccine and was breast feeding her baby had a horrible reaction and ended up dying. Though I personally don’t want it anyways, she told me this at my first visit anyways.

I am not trying to scare you as you were so early when you got your second dose there is a higher chance that your baby will be perfectly fine. I think most issues have come from women who were much further in their pregnancy.

you and your baby will be much safer as getting Covid is far riskier than the vaccine. There is evidence that babies born to vaccinated moms have the antibodies against covid and breastfeeding moms also transfer them to their babies. Getting the vaccine is the safest thing to do! So good you are done with it. There are small risks to any vaccine–but far greater risks with getting the disease.

The same happened to me, and when I asked my doctor she told me it was great I got it, that the baby will born with the antibodies.

You are rightfully concerned. Eat healthy, find a holistic doctor and let them know what happened. Let them guide you on recovery. Prayers for you and baby and all the other Mommas in your same boat.

I got it while 6w pregnant, the second dose. Felt like crap the day of then normal lol. Ultrasound and blood draw showed baby and myself are still completely fine.

I don’t have the website but Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston,MA (thts where I go for my very high risk pregnancy now) did a great research/ study on the vaccine in pregnant woman. I’m not saying I agree or disagree just saying their results where good and you shouldn’t be worried n from what I know the antibodies are good for the baby CONGRATS by the way

I’m 31 weeks pregnant and told Not to get this vaccine.
If you already got the vaccine talk with your doctor

Not a Dr …but with what I’ve heard from Drs is it is ok and baby will have immunities against Covid…
You definitely don’t want that while pregnant…
Congratulations on your baby . I’m sure everything will be ok

Talk to your OB-GYN. FB group can’t help.

I work in healthcare and there isn’t anything out there that suggests it’s dangerous for pregnant women. However you really should consult your OBGYN period with any medical questions. I highly do NOT recommend turning to strangers on a social media platform.
